Complaint
Review by bumsie on 2011-05-02
ALERT LEA, MINNESOTA -- My Family had 2 rooms at the the Super 8 in Albert Lea MN The check in lady was so rude and never thanked us 1 time. We stayed 2 nights we walked into our rooms and the lamp shades where all broken and did not match. The socket on one of the lamps was just hanging there. The bedspeads where too big for the beds hung on the floor. There where dead bugs behind the beds.
There was 4 us in one room and 4 of us in other Only had 2 towels and wash cloths in rooms so we asked for more SHE TOLD US NO THAT WAS ENOUGH. I have never been turned down for more towels in my life only 6 rooms where rented in motel so not a full house. We asked for another ash tray for our smoking room she told us NO. Then that night 4 AM we all sleeping and the police knocked on the door Looking for a party we said not here or next door there was 5 kids altogether in both rooms woke them up. They found the right room (like I said only 6 rooms rented.... should have been a clue)The next day our keys wouldn't work so went to desk to get them updated and she did it and threw them at us. Again not 1 thank you. If I was Super 8 in Albert lea I would take there fanchase away They are a embrassment for all the Super 8s Now I will think hard about staying at any Super 8s again

It amazes me how places like this stay in business...

The reason they may have not given an extra ashtray could be that they don't have a good way of tracking them. However, if 4 people are registered for a room, IMO there should definitely be 4 towels and washcloths provided. Not doing so is unacceptable.

In our move from Arizona to Washington we stayed in a Super 8 one night, we had our service animals with us and were charged a non-refundable "pet" deposit, they said it was to shampoo the carpet in the morning.

The carpet was so filthy that we didn't allow the dogs to walk on it, I carried them too and from their travel crate. The grassy area outside our room was covered in dog feces, not little ones either....there was no outside trash can to deposit what we picked up after our dogs, so I dropped the bags in the rear of the truck and dropped them at our next fuel stop.

This was the first time I had stayed at a Super 8
but all the ones I had dropped people off at as a taxi driver, all seemed to be run by foreigners
and our hotel/motel of choice now is Motel 6 or Comfort Inn. We were treated well at both and the rooms were clean....and there was no deposit for the dogs!
