Menards Complaint - Rudeness and possible raciss female workers - Electric Painters

Electric Painters - Complaint
Review by reescoe161 on 2011-05-04
I shopped at this menard at 4500 west north ave twice and was talked to like I'm a kid when I asked some the person in that department for help. I was told that I don't listen by a young female worker just because I asked her to explain the different paint guns. She acted like she didn't want to help me unless I just listen to her and don't ask no questions. She looking at me like I was a fool when I tried to questioned her abount other options that can be sold to me that you can buy for the paintgun. This happened on 5 1 2011. Six monts ago I had the same experience with a young hispanic lady. The manager don't care how how his workers treat some people.

He gets upset if you are upset with the workers and tells you to leave the store in a rude way with a temper, and points his finger at the door. This manager is just as rued as the workers.

Nothing you wrote makes me think anyone is being racist...but rude definitely comes to mind.

You might consider dropping a line/calling Menards HQ, this is what came up in a Google search:

I like to ask questions, if the person I am asking sounds like they know what they are talking about.

They should never say "you're not listening to me," or expect you not to ask questions. It's part of their job to help you. They could say something like "As I pointed out, the Picaso spray gun is way behind the times of its competition."

Sorry Y, but having worked the majority of my adult life in customer service in one form or another, it is our job to never talk down to a customer, no matter what we may assume about them. It takes a great deal of patience and the right attitude to work with the general public.

Boy, jc, isn't that the truth! There are too many in customer service that should find another line of work. Not everyone is cut out for it.

Some of these people are not tradesmen or even a skilled person. They are only there for the money. I have the same complaint with most stores that rely on part time hires. When are they going to become professional service providers? Lowe's did the same thing to me this morning. Lets say lazy and worthless too. They should be terminated for not assisting the customer!
