ADP Informative - ADP Security. Door to door guy using scare tactics to try and make sale

Review by Texas Grrrl on 2011-05-10
AUSTIN, TEXAS -- Door to door guy used scare tactics to try and sell services. Told me there were 6 break-ins in the last couple days in my neighborhood.

Researched his claim via Austin Police Department website and there were NOT 6 break-ins, only 3. Of course 3 break-ins is 3 too many but totally unacceptable to inflate the numbers to try and make a sale. IMO it brings into question the credibility of ADP. Wonder if he would have employed those scare tactics on my brother. I think not.

ADP - may want to train your people better and provide them some ID too.

Must be a common scare tactic because ADT does the same thing. I remember 2 years ago, ADT was going around to all the houses in my neighborhood telling homeowners that there had been 6 home invasion robberies in the last 2 weeks! Funny thing is, my husband is a police officer and there hadn't been a single home invasion that year! People don't need to invest thousands of dollars and be locked into contracts with home security companies like this. We got our wireless alarm from homesecuritystore.com, for around $600 (for 2 keypads, 2 key fobs and enough sensors for every window & door in the house. If the alarm is set off, the system calls our cellphones immidiately, 3 times in a row. There is a no middleman, which means no delay because of the time it takes the alarm co. to call the police and the police to dispatch the call!

Samantha makes a good point about the name of the company you're referring to. Are you sure it's not ADT security?
