Kohl's Compliment - Excellent Prices Plus Kohl's Cash Discount Cards

Compliment
Review by ok4now on 2011-05-15
DOYLESTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA -- Today's retailers are all competing for the same customer base. The savvy consumer can use this to their advantage. I recently shopped at Kohl's and was quite pleased with their prices, selection, customer service and easy returns. You need to open a Kohl's charge in order to get the really great deals. Several times a month they send me discount cards worth 15%, 20% and even 30% off merchandise that is already on sale. The savings are huge. They frequently run a promotion where you get $10.00 Kohl's cash for every $50.00 you spend. This can be applied to a future purchase and it really adds up. Example: I've had my eye on the Keurig B60 Special Addition Gourmet Single Cup Coffee Maker. Most retailers including Amazon sell this for $150.00. The price was the same at Kohl's but I had their 30% off discount card lowering it to $105.00. Wait it gets better. From my previous shopping trip I had 40.00 Kohl's cash lowering the final price to $65.00. Sweet!! I have gotten similar deals on their 800 thread count sheets and more. Kohl's has earned my business, give them a try.

Great review! I love Kohl's. I love the prices and the clothes and shoes. My only complaint is that their storess are always messy. They should hire employees to just keep all the merchandise in order.

Ahh, I see you're navigating Kohl's system to get the lowest prices. I've been doing it for years. It's the only way to shop!

The only thing that would have made your purchase better was if the coffee maker was on sale. But let's not get greedy, right?.. haha

And it just doesn't get better than Kohl's customer service and return policy. It makes shopping so much easier.

Yaya, my Kohl's is very clean and organized. I think it's because there are always plenty of employees on the floor staying on top of things. I have never been in Kohl's when I felt it was understaffed. That makes a big difference.

Venice: As I was writing this review I'm thinking in the back of my head "I know Venice will love this being the astute shopper that she is." Sure enough you were right on top of this. Sometimes you scare me!! LOL..

Venice, the ones I go to must be understaffed. They're always a mess

Ok, you just happened to hit on my favorite store in your review. In addition to everything Kohl's has to offer, did you know you also have the option of paying only one-third of the bill without being charged interest? You can't beat that!

Yaya, the only times I've seen the store a bit messy are around Christmas. But it never gets to the point of being annoying. They try very hard to keep up with the messes customers make.

I think it's an incentive for customers not to make a mess if the store is neat and organized in the first place. At least that's how I feel when I see a store is nice and tidy.

Venice: I was not aware of the 1/3 payment option to avoid the interest. Excellent point. To address the messy store comment. This really varies by location. I blame it mostly on the store clientele. By coincidence my closest Kohl's store is near a Walmart. Both are messy. The one a little further away is always neat & tidy. No Walmart is near by. Hmmm what does that tell you? What class of shopper does Walmart attract? Does this Walmart Shopper also frequent the local Kohl's?? Do I really have to spell the rest of this out? This is why some Kohl's stores are messy. Enough said.

Ok4now, you may have a point there. The Kohl's I go to is next to a Walmart. I never made that connection

We have a fairly new Kohl's in our area but I've never shopped there. I received a gift card in the mail from Kohl's for $10.00 off any purchase, no minimum. I passed the card on to another individual and she could not have been more pleased. It was right before Easter and she was trying to finish up on her shopping for her daughter.

Lo and behold I received another one a day or so ago in the mail. Face it, $10.00 might not be of interest to some but by golly it does to others. Nice compliment ok4now.

Kohl's is fairly new in my area. I haven't been in one, but you've made me curious enough to stop in and look around. I'm a little leery of store cc's though. What is the interest rate?

Good review, Ok4now! My wife loves Kohl's and gets some really good deals there!

Our Kohl's also has conveniently placed chairs where I can sit and read while she shops, too!

Ript, I've had my Kohl's card for around ten years and have never had a problem. The interest rate used to be pretty low but it increased somewhere along the line. I think it's around 20% now. However, I have never paid one penny in interest thanks to the one-third payment option. And I only use that around Christmas.

Here's some info about the card:

How do I become an MVC customer and what are the benefits of being an MVC customer?

You can become a Kohl's Most Valued Customer by spending at least $600 on your Kohl's Charge every year (from February 1st through January 31st). We'll thank you with these exclusive MVC privileges:

1. An additional six times a year, you can pick your personal sale day, plus you'll receive other special savings offers periodically throughout the year.

2. The MVC NOW Quarterly Newsletter, which is full of useful fashion tips and lifestyle information, also provides valuable savings offers exclusively for you!

Bottom line: We're already known for our great sales ... but as an MVC Kohl's Charge customer, you'll be invited to 18 additional savings opportunities every year.

Avoiding the Finance Charge: To avoid additional Finance Charge next month, we must receive your payment of the full "New Balance" or the "Avoid Finance Charge Amount" by the "Due Date". "Interest Free" (no finance charge) option: If you reside in AR, CO, CT, DE, DC, MD, NJ, NY, PA, TN, or WI, you will have the option of avoiding a Finance Charge in any billing period in which you pay one-third of the "New Balance", but not less than $50. If your "New Balance" is $50 or less, you must pay the entire "New Balance" to avoid Finance Charges in the following month.

I think you have to be a MVC customer to avoid the finance charges.

Great review. My sister-in-law loves Kohl's and is always telling me about the fantastic deals plus Kohl's cash she gets there. There is one sort of close to me, but I just never get there, for some reason! My son needs summer clothes, maybe I'll head there instead of Target.

I always ignore the interest rate when opening a credit card, because I know I won't be paying it. It's very liberating. I would have to resort to an alcohol addiction if I were paying 8% or more to borrow money.

I'm not a huge shopper, but my experiences with Kohl's and discounts have been good. My store is not overstaffed by any means, but it is also not untidy. The returns desk is wonderful to visit - everyone is friendly and helpful back there.

I also like Kohls, especially when the toddler clothes are on sale and I have a 30% off coupon. I can buy a lot at one time that way--saving future trips. I've gotten great deals by combining coupons and sales. I bought my Dyson vacuum cleaner and received approximately $150 off the sales price with discounts and Kohl's cash. Brought it down to about $180!

There is a problem with this website. After posting this review I tried to click "Reward this user for helpful advise." It doesn't work. I appreciate the feedback but I am unable to reward the poster. Very frustrating. I especially appreciate readers of this post taking the time to respond. My3Cents needs to correct this.

I love my Kohls. It's too bad it is so far away and I only get there a few times a year. They are the BEST for baby things. Make sure you check out the Keurig. I've had one for 2 years now. I saw it in the doctor's office and had to have one right away. Amazon offers decent deals on K-Cup coffee if you buy it in the form of a monthly subscription. It arrives at your doorstep every month like magic. I definitely recommend!
Posted by ok4now on 2011-05-17:
Bluediamond98: My one reservation about purchasing the Keurig was the high cost of the K-Cups. Sure they're convenient, just pop one in and 30 seconds later you're enjoying a great cup of coffee. Compared to buying a pound of coffee they are 3 times more expensive. Almost like buying printer ink. I found a solution. Keurig sells a reusable coffee filter called "My K-Cup." You just add your own blend and you're good to go. This is a huge cost savings. Amazon sells this filter for $13 bucks, well worth the money. BJ's sells a really great organic coffee that is far superior to the K-Cup. The price for 2.5 pounds is only $16.00. This will last a long time using "My K-Cup." Check it out.

Ok4now: I have that mykcup gadget. It is a life-saver when I have company. They definitely don't get any of my k-cups...lol! I just logged on to see how much I pay for my coffee in Subscribe and Save and I was going to run back here to brag about it. When I signed up, I paid $17.85 for a box of 50 cups. Well unbeknownst to me, they increased the price in December to $23.57! That's almost $.50 a cup now! So I will be using my gadget more regularly now for sure.
