AC Motors Complaint - Scam / Rip Off - REFUND PRACTICES

Review by plharris on 2011-05-16
ST LOUIS -- Gave a couple thousand dollar refundable deposit on a car, never signed a contract, never took possession of the vehicle. Dealer sold car and will not refund deposit. Illegally holding funds, did not deliver a good or service.

Take them to small claims court. There is a concept in the law know as "undue enrichment". This should work for you. They took your money and provided NO service.

Dispute with your bank or CC company right away. Then lodge a complaint with the BBB, and consider Chuck's advice as well.

A similar thing happened to me a few years ago at Sound Ford in Renton, WA. I still give them the one finger salute whenever I drive by.

Is there really a company called "AC Motors"? That is a terrible name, since it sounds like they sell things that you plug into the wall and go round and round. I could not locate this company.

I've done what you did, but received a contract in return. Do you have anything on paper?

They can't get away with this. What is the full name and address of the company? When did you leave the deposit, and when did you find out the car was gone?

Depending on the particulars, I would follow the previous advice. File a complaint with the BBB - they have helped me get money back from two companies. Consider a small claims case, but if they have any brains they will resolve this without legal intervention.
