Pick Your Shoes .com Complaint - Ridiculous Information Request to process order

WALNUT, CA -- My son ordered a pair of shoes using my credit card and information, but requested they be shipped to his address at college. The following day I received an email saying they needed for me to send them a copy of a utility bill with my address on it, as well as a copy of my photo I. d. to prevent fraud. I have NEVER had this happen in regards to an online order, and do not like giving out "extra" info for fear of IDENTITY THEFT and told them so. I did end up sending a scan of the requested info, but of course my driver's license did not come through clearly - as I was told by PYS hours later. The next day I called them and they asked my address EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ON THE ORDER AND ON THE UTILITY BILL AND MATCHED MY CREDIT CARD info. Even though now the order has been slowed by a day, no offer to speed up shipping. When asked for refund, was told it will take 5 days! Clearly customer satisfaction and retention are not high on their list. Too many other companies to choose from to go through this hassle, don't bother!

I understand your frustration, but it sounds like they are trying to prevent fraud, by making sure the card being used actually belongs to the person who has authorized it's use.

It's not personal, it's business. But your right, why be aggravated, when there are so many other places to use.
