Jewishhistory.org Complaint - Be careful when looking for a Jewish History site...

Review by zeldaz on 2011-05-22
This site purports to give educational information on Jewish history. I tried to find proof of the information they gave on Thomas Jefferson and found the main idea of what they wrote did not coincide with any information I found. They also have a video with the same information for which I cannot find corroboration.

Please be careful if you use this site for educational purposes.

what was the info? hard to say if their website is false if you do not offer the ideas they are stating.

Yes, I'd agree with the first reply. The organization could give your critique a very similar criticism as the one you gave them.

What is this false information you say the site is giving out?

pretty sure that you should never use anything on the interwebz as a fact unless you're using a reputable source like American Psychological Association, or its correlate in some other field. I laugh whenever I see wikipedia listed as a source...

The information is fairly complicated and I would have to include letters written by Thomas Jefferson to show the proof contrary to their information. Very basically, they state Jefferson was a friend to the Jews, and all research, including his own letters, state the opposite. The company, when contacted, at first told me they did not have a video. I sent the link to them. I never received a formal response. Wikipedia was not a source for me. The Monticello site was a source. I was able to see copies of his actual letters.

Thanks for the advice. I hope this clarification helps. I did not realize I had comments or I would have responded sooner. Again, thank you.
