DirecTV Inc Complaint - Thieving cheats!!!! - Satellite TV
I cancelled my subscription to DirectTv in April. After that I received two bills showing a credit of $63.45. I then received a check for $43.47 with no explanation of where the other $20.00 was. When I called, they told me that part of it was from a PPV that we watched a few months ago. We had gotten a free code for that, and I had called to have that resolved months ago when I first discovered the problem. I thought it was resolved. Not. The other $10.00 was for a programming credit that they were rescinding. All this was done without notification or being sent another bill. I called and spoke to May (sounded like she was located in the Phillipines). She said she would credit the PPV and escalate my problem to Finance. When I called the next day to follow up I spoke with another foreign agent named Robin Ray. Apparently May had not done what she said. Robin told me I could write a letter. He also said they would credit me back those charges if I went back to them. Ha!! If I hadn't paid by my bank's bill pay service, I would have initiated a dispute with my credit card company. So, they bilked me out of 20 bucks. Don't let it happen to you. Always use a credit card so you have some recourse. I would never get service with them again. As far as I'm concerned what they did was illegal, and I will try to initiate a complaint with the FCC. It's not about the 20 dollars...it's about the fact that if they did it to me there are likely plenty of others, and now I'm angry.
