Dish Network Complaint - Rude and Harassing customer service
I have been a loyal Dish Network customer for many years. I like their packages and the DVR and remotes are pretty user friendly. I recently decided to switch to DirecTV to take advantage of some of their incentives and save some money (at least for the first year). Direct has a whole house DVR service that I like and I believe that the HD picture quality is actually better. I think Dish must have two different personalities for their customer service personnel. One for coming on board and one for cancellations. I called to cancel the service and was coldly told that I would have to return my two DVRs, 4 remotes and the LNB. Boxes and labels would be sent to me and I could use their labels for $15 each or use my own when returning them. If the equipment wasn't returned within 30 days my card would be charged $450. This was followed up by an email stating the same thing (except now I have 10 days). This morning I received a nasty recorded message telling me all these same things. I'M NOT AN IDIOT!! WHEN I RECEIVE THE BOXES AND LABELS I WILL IMMEDIATELY RETURN YOUR EQUIPMENT.
The UPS tracking numbers say I should receive the boxes tomorrow. I was reluctant to make the switch, but now I'm really glad I did.
