Home Depot Complaint - Special Order
TAMPA, FLORIDA -- I special orderd two window blinds on 3/25/05. Was told they would be in by 4/8/05. Over a month later, one of the blinds came in, but it was the wrong color, so they had to send it back. My second blind came in a few days later, but the receiving department sent it back to the manufacturer because they read the order wrong. It was damaged while being sent back. Nobody bothered to call me to tell me that it was damaged and the order was just put on hold. Nobody called to ask what I wanted to do. Finally, over a month later, the first blinds came in with the correct color. But, as of today, 5/31/05, the store has no date as to when the other one will arrive. Each time I call, they tell me today or tomorrow, but that never happens. Before I placed this order, I was warned by friends and family about special ordering from Home Depot and heard their horror stories. But, I figured, that won't happen to me. But, it has. When I told them that I wanted to cancel the second blind order, I was told that I would be charged a 15% restocking fee, eventhough it's their fault I'm not getting the order. The assistant mangager told me that I would get some kind of compesation for my troubles. But, I believe that like I believe my blinds will be in today. DO NOT special order from this store!!!!
