Disneyland - California Complaint - Mary Poppins! I Means Shes Not Even Her But Thought She Is All That And Rude - Made Such A Disappointing View Of Herself

Made Such A Disappointing View Of Herself - Complaint
Review by ndaz on 2011-05-27
ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA -- Well I'm here now and Mary just did a show. We waited patiently til the show ended to get her autograph. As my daughter and I went to get it she was not only rude and avoiding us but she kept walking even after I said excuse me. The gentleman with her was very nice as my daughter got upset. He said just walk with us and I'll get it for you. Still even after we were with them she not once turned around to greet my 8 year old.

I mean did she really think she was Mary Poppins????? That was just a great disappointment for my daughters first time in Disneyland.

Don't let this one experience ruin your trip, or let it ruin your 8 year olds. Disneyland is a fun place, and just because Mary Poppins ignored you, does not mean the other characters will.

Show her the best time of her life, and make light of this. Maybe Mary Poppins just received some bad news?

Maybe Mary Poppins was on a break or lunch and knew if she stopped for one child, she'd have to stop for everyone and would never get her break or lunch. When I worked retail, I used to have to take my badge off to walk to the break room, or I'd get stopped by a few people who needed help and it would cut into my break making it shorter

You never know what could have been going on. Maybe she was obligated to be somewhere else, had to run to the rest room, or had an emergency...who knows. Don't let it spoil your trip. I'm sure your daughter will have a blast with the other characters and sites to see.

It also may depend on how long she's already been signing autographs.

Sometimes they only are allowed a few minutes to greet fans.

I know when I first saw Blue Man Group, I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to meet any of the Blue Men... but that doesn't stop me from liking them.

Mary Poppins isn't nearly as popular as Cinderella & Sleeping Beauty so I don't know if its the same, but on our last trip, they were both right outside the castle for a certain amount of time. You had to line up to "meet" them. Sleeping Beauty counted everyone in line at the time and gave the last person a rose and once that person had had their photo taken with her, she left.

Mary Poppins?? You mean an actor/actress wearing a costume. Some of these actors(workers) are prohibited from giving **autographs*,
Littleshorty is 100% correct.

It sounds like Mary Poppins have to meet a call of nature. I certainly would be more traumatized if Mary Poppins had an "accident" while signing an autograph for my child.

lol I love how you all defend this woman. Its funny. Mary poppins would have stopped and signed the little girls auto.

I found out that a rumor I had heard about William Shatner was true. I was going to a Star Trek Convention in Seattle one year, and he was the featured speaker. I had heard he didn't do autographs, and considered the fans to be losers who lived in their parents' basements. If you have an item with Shatner's autograph on it, you paid a pretty penny for it. He came in from backstage, did his routine and ZIP, he was gone! I have met Indy car drivers, other TV actors and a couple of movie stars, and there are only three I consider the Unholy Trio. Hail, Jean-Luc.

For some of these 'stars,' fans have to pay the price of an autograph. Couple of years back, I stood in line for over two hours to get the autographs of Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay to give to my Godson who is quite a Red Wings fan. They would sign only b/w photos that were sold for $10 each. I considered that a pretty good price. When I gave them to him, the dopey kid didn't even know who these players were! But his grandfather quickly glommed on to them.

Maybe Mary had to get a new umbrella?
