LG Informative - LG expects you to know to buy from an authorized dealer
ALABAMA -- In May of 2009 I purchased a dishwasher and refrigerator from Miller's Surplus. I filled out all the warranty information and sent it in to LG. In April of 2011 the refrigerator died. When I called LG, I was told that the repair wouldn't be covered due to the fact that I bought the item from an unauthorized dealer. That in fact there is no warranty from day one. Miller's Surplus is not a fly by night company. They have been in business many years. The serial number and all other information is on the inside and all paperwork was included. Apparently all potential LG buyers should know to check their website to see if you are purchasing from an authorized dealer.
Is this something that all companies do now? Should consumers really be expected to see if they are purchasing an appliance from an authorized dealer?
