Longhorn Steak House Complaint - Food

Review by artdeh1977654 on 2011-05-30
I went to the Longhorn Steakhouse in Manchester Ct on Tuesday May 24,2011. Our meal was cold the baked potato wouldn't even melt the butter. We also ordered the lobster tail and the butter was only soft not melted or hot.

We thought we found a new weekly restaurant but now I'm not sure if I want to try it again and be disappointed and spend money for an average meal.

This has been my experience at 99% of chain restaurants. It is very rare to find one that is consistent.

Consistently good, that is.

Longhorn is one that I've found that is consistently good. I love it. Sorry to hear the OP had a not so great experience.

I live just down the street from that particular location (CT)and have been there. The food was good. You should give it another try before making a final decision.

I too would give them another try. You could even mention to the Hostess, server or manager that your last visit was disappointing, and that you are giving them another chance. You might be pleasantly surprised.

The only question I have is; Did you mention this to either your server or the manager? Even if I am at a restaurant I eat at all the time, let something be wrong with my meal, I am sure as heck going to mention it to someone. That is my hard-earned money, and I expect to get what I pay for. So often we see this in these restaurant reviews, someone's meal is not up to snuff, but they never mention whether they spoke to anyone about it, just holler thay will never eat at that chain again. Let's be real, people, if you get substandard food or service, talk to someone about it right there, not post a bad review about it after silently leaving the establishment.

I've not been to a Longhorn Steak House in years but it was good at that time. It might be one of those *good at one location and not good at another* since I guess the menu would be about the same. I wasn't there but it sounds as if your order had been prepared but not brought out until it became cold. Miscommunication between the waitperson and the kitchen as to the order being ready? Extremely busy?

No matter the reason, your displeasure should have been mentioned at that time. As Starlord has already pointed out in his comments they will never know if you don't tell them. And, it's certainly not necessary to make a scene (my words, not Starlord's) because that only makes other patrons uncomfortable. Most restaurants truly want a satisfied customer.
