Sears Complaint - Sears Sucks
MISSOURI -- Six years ago I was high pressured into purchasing(9) windows at a cost of $8,000+ that was supposed to carry a lifetime warranty of which turned out to be a lifetime limited warranty. Each time you call a service guy, it cost you $100.00. and the only thing it really covers for the for ten years is if the gas leaks from between the panels. The frame is cover for twenty years but who ever heard of a frame being replaced that is not covered by insurance. Chalking is considered maintenance, and the hardware is inside the vinyl so you wouldn't know if it faulty or not. Just a big scam.
The salesman's made it sound like such a good investment. Oh the service and the quality. Yeah right. Don't let the smooth taste fool you. READ all paperwork before signing and don't be pressured by anyone. If you are going to loss the discount let it go. Basically it is a one year warranty just like the other guy.
I had one other window replaced by a Sears competitor for $ 189.00, they used the same method of replacing the window and that window was just as good as the Sears windows. There was no pressure or rush to sign the contract. and even though the warranty was for one year, at $189.00 I calculate you can by about 5 windows for the price of one and if something goes wrong just replace it with new chalking, gas, and everything that came with your 8,000 dollar windows.
I wold recommend if you plan to spend top dollar for windows you use the money to pay for style such as Pella or Andersons. I feel that I have been ripped off by Sears.
