Dish Network Complaint - Bad Billing-Turning Off On Invalid Delinquency
IT IS INTERESTING SCAM. WE ALMOST GOT SCAMMED BY SCAMMER. HOWEVER DISH SCREWED UP OUR ACCOUNT TO OVERCHARGE $146 AND REFUSED TO REFUND.
Scammer offered (on phone) DISH cable services for (18) months, normally costing approximately $1400, for a lump sum immediate payment of $885 only by check. This insider or some outsider scammer was allowed by DISH to credit our account by $1400. The credit was evidenced on DISH website; the DISH representative confirmed receipt of funds into our account; DISH confirmed that funds can not be withdrawn without our authorization. It is long story but in brief we luckily escaped sending a check. (We know a relative who thus lost all the money over $900)
Here is the interesting part. Scammer had credited $1400 by (4)payments of $300 each+ (1) payment of $200 through (5) different charge cards. DISH took over (6) weeks to find out that credit card payments were no good; therefore back charged our account. However in place of back charging $1400 DISH back charged us $1500 (5 x $300 each). We pointed to the dispute resolution team over ten times; every time they referred back to billing dept; every time billing dept responded that we were wrong. DISH also back charged us $46 without any explanation. To cut the story short, we negotiated for a termination; we paid the balance due to avoid collection; we filed a small claim suit for re-imbursement that is pending.
