Thompson Collision Center, Edgewood, MD Complaint - Services paid for by insurance co. which were never done!
After an accident (I was rear-ended at a stoplight), I took my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo to Thompson Collision Center in Edgewood, MD for repairs. After being paid $954.01 by Travelers Insurance, I took my car home thinking everything was complete. A few months later, I started smelling gas while driving my car. Then I filled up my gas tank and found that it was leaking. I had my step-father come and assess my car and pulled out my paperwork from my previous collision/repair. He has worked on cars his whole life. He got down to look at the fuel skid plate & found that it was never even removed. There were rusted, dirty screws holding it on. What Thompson apparently did was just cut out the piece that was damaged. On my receipt of services from Thompson, it states "Rem/Inst Skid plate, Repair Skid plate", both equalling 2.5 labor units and 0.5 refin units.
I have a difficult time trusting them with any car work when they were paid by an insurance company to do work that was apparently never performed. It even had listed on the estimate "has minor impact damage time to repair and refinish R&I to inspect fuel tank".
