I am disabled and on a fixed once a month income. I received an email from "Free.Ca" which I thought was Canada, thus the "Ca". The email stated if I paid the S & H (Shipping & Handling, approx. $6.00), they would sent me a free sample of "Original Age-Defying Wrinkle Serum," which I thought my wife would like to try. As a bonus, they would send, "Triple Effects Eye Serum." The products arrived in the mail, almost overnight.
A month later I received my Mastercard statement one was an amount of, SYSBINT*HYDRODERM 800-759-8620 CA $117.28, and 8007439187 LOVEEYESERUM SHERMAN OAKS CA $111.08, a whopping $228.36 for two "samples." I phoned Mastercard, and was informed I had to first call "Hydroderm" and that I probably entered an agreement with them that "if I don't return the product within 14 days, I would BUY/purchase their product."
I then phoned Hydroderm, and the young woman that answered my call, told me the same thing as Mastercard, and since I was given 14 days to return the product, and didn't, on the 15th day, they billed me to Mastercard. These people are trained and skilled, and the woman from Hydroderm, repeatedly told me she was sorry, and there wasn't anything she could do. She told me this over ad over again. I told her to remove any future dealings with this "REPUTABLE Company," and never send anything else.
I was so disgusted and annoyed, and if anyone is sorry, it is me. When it came time to leave, she asked me if I would be interested in receiving their product every 3 months? Talk about a slap in the face!!! These people are EXTREMELY POISON - NEVER EVER DEAL WITH THEM.
RED DEER -- Ad says trial, only pay shipping, very, very small print says 30-day trial and must return within 30 days to get money back or to charge my account. I was charged 7 days after I received the product as took 3 weeks to get it. I am trying to send back and I had better be able to get money back. Very bad.
Warning re Hydroderm - Received an email from Costco offering a free gift!!! (Costco logo and everything). All I had to do was pay postage for free gift of Hydroderm skincare product! Then a month later I was charged over $170 USD for my free gift! Then they have the nerve to charge again every 30 days!!! This is an expensive product cleverly misrepresenting itself with the disguise of a reputable company Costco.
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- After trying this product I noticed my skin actually got worse! It dried my skin in the treated areas and worse yet I noticed wrinkles coming in. It's supposed to help wrinkles not cause them. I'm very surprised that this company is still in business today. Of course they drop one product once it gets bad reviews and come out with Dermitage which is highly exaggerated!! They are both put out by the same company and both products are a rip off.
I suggest you do your research under each or both products' names and you will find lots of complaints from consumers that were ripped off by this company. Where is customer service when you need them? Refund if not 100% satisfied.. yeah right. I returned the unused portion of the Hydroderm as stated in their contract agreement within the 14 day trial period. Never got my money refunded and of course after calling several times they claimed they never received the returned portion.
I then stated that I do have a return signature receipt that was signed by someone in the company. More run around as they then wanted me to send them a copy of the return receipt. Followed up on it and still nothing. I then decided to contact my credit card company and let them handle it. I faxed a copy of the return receipt to the credit card company and they credited me the full amount on my credit card. But, not sure if my credit card company ever got their money back from this rip off artists.
Note: If you've been a victim of this company file a report here and also at www.rippoffreport.com. Contact your credit card company immediately to cancel any future charges and to claim a refund. Even if you happen to like the product but only want one month supply, I suggest you contact both companies to cancel. This way you cover yourself on both ends.
CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA -- This company by far has the lousiest customer service ever. They don't even have an email on their webpage because I am sure they don't want complaint emails! I had returned my 2nd bottle of their product and UPS tracking shows it was received by them on 9.29.08 - I called a few weeks after and then 5 times after that checking on my credit. Each time I called I was promised a callback and a credit.
Fast forward to 2 months and I have not gotten a phone call or a credit. And each time I called and had to endure the most awful hold music and a message in between letting me know I was "caller # whatever on the queue", every representative I talked to said they did not have an answer. Does anyone there have an answer?? This is such a big ripoff and the most god-awful customer service I have had to encounter. Does anyone out there know who I can call about this??
NEW YORK -- I have been taken by this company and when trying to reach them by their 800# you wait 20-30 mins. Then they put you on hold. I have told them to STOP taking money from my account. I only ordered the sample and it does not work and do not Want this product and they have not yet stopped taking from my account and it has been 2 months: The amounts are inconsistent and hard to track except when you have no money and they are creating bigger problems.
They do not respond to the calls -- then when confronted their computer system conveniently goes down and they tell you to call back in 20 business days. THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER come across and they are A CON and the money just continues to be taken. I have filed a complaint with my bank and refused them access -- and now I am calling the ATTORNEY GENERAL as they have once again ignored the telephone calls and their system continues at this time to be broken.
ANY ONE WHO READS THIS PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - IT IS NOT RELIABLE & has PROVEN TO be more fraudulent -- THERE is no quick fix from this ointment/lotion!!! IF it sounds too good to be true it is!
Do not believe what you hear. First they sucker you in and give you a 30 day free trial and then when you cancel within the 30 days you have to pay the postage to return the unused portion plus you better send it certified because they are still going to sign you up on the automatic ship program and deduct $84.00 from your credit or debit card. When you call they have a recording that always says their system is down and you need to call back on Monday. This is not matter what day it is. Don't get hooked but if you already have - REPORT them to your Better Business Bureau.
AUSTRALIA -- This is a rip off. Ordered my free trial (still waiting). Have had 4 payments taken out of my bank account. 2 I authorized being a total of $9.90 for postage. 2 more fraudulently payments have been out of my bank account and still no product taken for total of $200. Have contacted them ref this but as yet have had no response. DON'T DO IT.
WWW.HYDRODERM.COM -- My wife wanted a sample from Hydroderm, I guess it's some skin lotion or something. Anyway, they wanted a couple bucks for the shipping and yada yada so I let her put it on one of the credit cards for my company. Well, the product arrived and she wasn't impressed with the quality or claims from Hydroderm so she called their customer service and told them not to put her on the monthly supply mailing or whatever and they gave her a cancellation number. She mentioned that the lady had been very short and snotty to her. I said, "Well, she's probably just was having a bad day."
Needless to say, 4 weeks or so later I notice a $61.00 charge from Hydroderm on my credit card. No products received, no authorization for the charge, nothing!! My wife called to find out what was going on and was treated with quite a bit of hostility. The customer service person informed her that unless you specifically request them not to. My wife explained that she had done so and had a cancellation number. The person told her that wasn't a valid number and that she would issue her a new number.
Well, the charge still has not been reversed and when she called again to complain the person she spoke with told her the cancellation number was issued after the charges to my C.C.!!! She explained that they told her she needed a new number and the lady called her a liar. All of these contacts with them have resulted in my wife being very upset afterwards at the attitude and insinuations from these customer service reps.
Anyway, the charge is still on my card 11 days later, she still has received no products, I phoned Hydroderm's customer service number today to try to get some answers. Some rude crass person named ** answer, told me basically that it was not her concern, refused to provide me with a manager's contact info and hung up on me in mid-sentence. Very condescending and smug. I cannot believe the way she spoke to me.
I have filed Fraud Claim with my Credit Card company and I am considering filing with the FBI and FTC as well. Even if it was legitimate they should have only charged her $45 anyway and they charged $61. These people should be shut down.
