WENATCHEE, WASHINGTON -- I'm 84 years old and my memory isn't really good so I needed something simple for a phone and something I could rely on. I bought a Jitterbug and I have mixed emotions about it. I don't use the phone a whole lot and it wasn't what I was hoping for. But I had several I tried out and it was the easiest one to put my information in. I have it for a year and a half now and I take it with me when I go somewhere for emergencies or in case I need to call my son.

BURLINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA -- A few years ago I lived in Virginia and I tried to get in contact with Jitterbug but they couldn't serve me where I was. I moved to Burlington, North Carolina and I am living in a retirement community now. I had Verizon but I couldn't pick them up where I lived and I had been disgusted with them. When I saw Jitterbug, I thought I'd try again and I got them. Their service has been working well for me although sometimes, it's a little poor and I got buildings surrounding me. It would be fine if they upgrade their signal a little bit. But I would definitely recommend Jitterbug. It's the best phone I've ever had.

SAINT PETERSBURG, FLORIDA -- My husband needed a phone that has large numbers on it and that he can just open up and answer so I got him a Jitterbug. Even though he does not use it very often, it was good when I was away. I was able to call him and he could call me. The one thing that is a problem is that he doesn't use texting and I noticed there were charges for texting on the phone. And that was because unknown entities text him and opening and reading them charges him 50 cents apiece. Also, Jitterbug advertised $15 a month payment but now we all knew that it would be over $20.

Nevertheless, I would recommend Jitterbug. But I'd tell people that it's gonna be an extra five bucks for all of the text fees and stuff. I would also tell them that if they wanna use texting that they should sign up for it, but if they don't want to, then they've got to be careful that people don't use it on them.

DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA -- My mom has dementia. A friend of hers said that Jitterbug Touch was really good. I contacted them, I saw the phone and it was a good system. I didn't need to have the thing around her neck, plus a phone system is better when you have dementia. I could check on her every day. She doesn't really understand, but she says, “Hi Gina.” I can hear her voice and I like it. Jitterbug is a great product. It is easy and very simple as well. My mom and I love it and we're happy with it. I'm a social worker in the field and I highly recommend it.

FAIRPORT, NEW YORK -- I like the large numbers on my Jitterbug. But, I don't like having to constantly press a button to speak to pitch my purpose. Some things could be better than having to constantly hit the speaker. When I got Jitterbug, it did not work properly so I called and spoke to a rep. She was wonderful and she took me through everything. She was also patient when I was on the phone for 40 minutes with her.

Also, their so-called easy instructions are ridiculous. I gave it to my children to read. They said that we gotta be Einstein to understand some of the instructions. The book repeats a couple of things and in different chapters, they say something else. If I could have another type of phone I can use, I would do it, but this is what my budget can allow. So, I use it strictly for security reasons.

COLUMBUS, OHIO -- I needed to replace my cell phone because the battery had gone dead. I was not able to get a battery for that so I was looking for a replacement. Jitterbug seemed to be what I was looking for. I wanted a phone to use as an emergency in case our electricity went off and I didn't have to be tied in with a contract of any kind.

However, I'm not as pleased as I thought I would be because I had a lot of trouble getting on to using it. I needed a phone where I could just plug in and find the name of the person I wanted to call and call them. On the other hand, I've had an issue with it the other night because my battery needed to be revamped and the girl from the customer service team was very helpful in doing that.

NILES, MICHIGAN -- My girls have been concerned about me because I've been legally blind for 15 years. I'm 88 years old and I can only see the peripheral. I have Macular Degeneration with Lasered Macula and Glaucoma. I have seen the advertisements for Jitterbug with all those colorful buttons and something induced me to call them. They have a very good salesman. However, when the phone came, it does not have nice big numbers like what was shown in the advertisement. It's just a little tiny cell phone.

I called Jitterbug three times telling them I wanted to send it back when I was still able to do it and each time, I got talked into it and it got lower and lower prices and it came down to $15 a month. And I'm paying this $15 all the time for something I never used and this isn't right. I am so disgusted about my experience with Jitterbug. But, I finally plugged it in just a week ago, so now I'm gonna try and use it and get used to it. Jitterbug would also be good for somebody completely blind with the numbers with an operator there to answer.

LA FAYETTE, GEORGIA -- I'm 88 years old and I have several health problems. My daughter gifted me with a Jitterbug and she thought I would carry it with me all the time so if I get into trouble, especially when I walk down or out and alone in the woods, I could call. We live on a rocky driveway. It's lonely out here and I don't have a neighbor close by. Although I forget it every time I go somewhere, but I appreciate having it.

One thing though is that I have macular degeneration and I am unable to read even the big print. While the numbers are big, any printing on my phone is so tiny it's just like somebody drew a line. I have a little phonebook in it, but I have difficulties in recognizing them. Also, when I made a call while trying the phone out, I had an awful lot of static on it.

But overall, we like Jitterbug. I can, at least, punch the emergency button on the phone. My daughter pays every month for it and I'm thankful to her, but I feel a little bit guilty that I don't use it more. Still, I would recommend them because of my son's service, who also uses Jitterbug.

RIVERTON, WYOMING -- When Jitterbug came out with a style, I wanted it right away. However, I should change the amount of time and get the lowest bracket because I'm not using it adequately. Also, I am an old person and I haven't been able to put in all the names on that phone where I could just press the button and get the number.

But when I first started, I didn't know what I really needed or wanted but the Jitterbug team was fantastic. They tried to help me as much as they could. I've had Jitterbug for a while and I know now what help I need or want. I like Jitterbug and I would recommend it. It gives a secure feeling to know that I have it and that I could use it if I need it.

NEW LENOX, ILLINOIS -- The Jitterbug phone is simple to operate. I don't use the cellphone a lot and I thought it would be nice to keep it around for emergencies. The battery stays charged for a long time, and it suits my needs quite well. Since having the phone, I don't worry about my sense of security.

Unfortunately, I keep it in my car for emergencies, which probably is not a 100% good idea because I should probably keep it handy around in case of any mishap since I have that 5Star option. But it works out well. As a matter of fact, I had a lot of problems with my landline, and I had to use the Jitterbug to correct the problem. Overall, I would tell friends that Jitterbug is a great idea and a great investment, and the price is very reasonable.
