SOUTH LEBANON, OHIO -- Contracted for a kitchen remodel and had numerous issues during the process. They did not utilize an educated design associate. Was told to replace cabinets as currently designed. Came and measured but still altered the size of a cabinet by 3". Did not follow design instruction set forth in initial meetings. When trying to talk w/ the store CSR, she talked over me and didn't listen to my concerns. Made statements like, "We don't discuss every issue with the customer" and "Sometimes we have to guess just what you need".

This on a $32,000 job?? Grossly over priced for a 12x12 room with cabinets only on 2 walls. You must pay upfront and then you have no leverage to insist on quality work. The GC was never at the property. My main issues were with the store and their responsibilities. The workmanship of the install crew was good until painting. Painting not a professional job. Overall would not recommend Lowe's for install project.

Kitchen Remodel

POTTSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA -- June 2017 Prepaid $19,000 for Diamond kitchen cabinets, new appliances GE, and countertop with sink all in one. Cabinets arrived August 2017. Installer and salesperson came to our home to unbox the delivery. The doors on the cabinets were one thin sheet and we were told they could order a better door so we opted to do that. Unfortunately we let the installer proceed with demolition, now for the news that new doors would be an additional $3000. Lowe's and Diamond refused to take back the original doors. "There is nothing wrong with them". Customer dissatisfaction with the quality is a very good reason to return a product.

Now for the installer "her second best". He worked alone and clearly needed help which my husband provided lest he destroy our home completely. The cabinets did not fit so he cut at them, the design was off center upper cabinets hung crooked and when doors were finally put on they hit the light fixtures above the cabinets. Installer's answer. Cut at them. When we called a halt to the wood butchering he left. Lowe's listened to our complaints and had an investigator take pictures.

Finally in October 2017 a second installer looked at the job and new cabinetry had to be ordered. Everything was supposed to arrive November 2017 but again when 2nd installer started working things were not there. Now they refuse to believe that things weren't delivered and had them sent to the store. Finally December 20, 2017 the kitchen was completed. $22,000 later Lowe's promised to reimburse us for our loss of a workable kitchen for 4 months and my husband's work he did with the first installer and his poor workmanship and destruction of our property. This is what happens when you pay in advance!

HICKORY, NORTH CAROLINA -- A nightmare! What was to be a 3-week completion of a small kitchen turned into 3+ months. We paid extra for PREMIUM Kraftmaid cabinets and extra for a premium finish (white), expecting top quality products. The cabinets came in with broken door fronts and bad joints that were highly visible.

After receiving replacement doors the installer refused to put them on because they were worse than the doors being replaced! Our countertops "were on the truck" and promised two consecutive Wednesdays, the third Wednesday the salesman told us they were on indefinite backorder that we would have to pick another color-wrong! With each wrong part ordered and/or each replacement door, you have to wait 10+ days.

The salesman was most helpful during the order and payment process but lost all interest after the sale. In speaking to him numerous times he was to check on various things and call me right back--still waiting on those return phone calls.

After having a custom cabinet maker evaluate our project, he not only confirmed our concerns but identified various other defects. To make things worse, he could have saved me $1500.00 on the project with custom cabinets! In all fairness, Lowe's is great for purchasing things in stock from the store but steer clear of ordering cabinets! I give one star only because no stars was an option!

DOTHAN, ALABAMA -- I had went to Lowe's in May of 2016 to get a quote on kitchen remodeling, Complete remodeling. I knew what cabinets, countertop and floor that I wanted, But the Salesman Stated that he had to go to Home Advisor School and ask if I would wait until finished. In December he called me in to get papers signed, wrote project would be completed Jan. 3rd, 2017, as of today Nov 2016 job is still not completed. Have called the Corporate Center 3 times, Lowe's Store at least 8 times, and still no completion.

They have my hard earned money but will not complete the job to satisfaction. They (Lowe's) had called when I was In ReHab, was in hospital for almost 3 weeks. When I called them back they said they would give me a call right back, but didn't. Have seen on internet if you call the Corporate Center they hold it against you for complaining. Spent about 25,000 for this remodel.

POOLER, GEORGIA -- Designing and ordering the cabinets from Lowe's was easy and straightforward. Computer design was very helpful in seeing what the finished product would look like. Ordered 10K worth of custom cabinets and 4k worth of appliances. A month later the cabinets were delivered and I stored them in a spare bedroom.

Then things went south. After a month still no installation. Installer didn't bother returning my calls because he reported to Lowe's, not me. I had no leverage. This is the problem with the business plan Lowe's uses. Subbing out the installation. After several phone calls to the store pushing for an install date I could not get an answer. So I went to the store to talk to the scheduler in person and he assured me he would have an install date by 9am next day.

Of course I never heard back, so I called and asked for the store manager. He said he would get to the bottom of it and get back to me. He called back within the hour and said the installer was tied up on a big job and did not know when he could get to me. I said that was unacceptable and I wanted to return the cabinets. To his credit he sent a truck and they picked everything up and issued a credit. They never offered to get another installer. Apparently they have only one. Again, bad business plan.

It's frustrating because we lost so much time. Had to go out and contract with another company and we are still waiting for everything to get in. Bottom line is I suggest you deal with a company where the installers are employees of the company and not a subcontractor.

OREGON, OREGON -- Ordered Diamond Prelude Series Cabinets. Lots of bad reviews so I was very surprised after they were delivered no damage, on-time, no staining variance issue. Had my old cabinets ripped out and Lowe's installer installed in two days. No issues. Quality is good. All hardware works fine. Lowe's was great to work with. No issues. Price was fair and given upfront. Installer was great and had 25 years of experience installing cabinets.

Received cabinets from Lowe's with multiple problems. Called customer service on numerous occasions and was told the Kraftmaid account manager would contact us. We waited, and waited and finally someone said she had just gotten back from vacation. We were asked to send pictures and she will call us that night. Well the next day I received an email that customer service would replace anything that was cracked. Why didn't they tell us that every time we called customer services.

We bought white all wood cabinets. When you are looking down in the grooves of the beadboard you can see the color of the wood not the white. The reply that was sent to me not much can be done about that due to fact that they are painted after assembly. That is something they never told us when we were spending all the money to purchase the cabinets. It just looks like terrible craftsmanship.

HILLIARD, OHIO -- We bought special order Brookton cabinets from Lowe's. When we got around to opening for install 3 Cabinets had very visible damage. We returned 1 since that one could be installed later but 2 of the others needed installed right away. My husband was installing while he was home. He is a truck driver and they was coming the next Monday to do the granite countertop measurement.

I called the company that made them and they informed me they couldn't do nothing about it. They also told me to call other Lowe's stores to see if they had them. I told them again they was special ordered they wasn't going to have them. I was then told again they couldn't help me. I have called Lowe's, the guy I have been dealing with wasn't in today but he is a great guy and they told me he would see what they could do for me. There was a 4th cabinet that had a dent in it but I will deal with it. I Will Never Buy Another Brookton Product.

HOWELL, NEW JERSEY -- Cherry kitchen cabinet door fronts and drawer fronts are defective. 95% have distress marks. The sample displayed in the store are perfect. I based my purchase on the beautiful sample in the store. I never expected to receive so many defect marks. Replacements were just as bad.

Kitchen Cabinets Rating - Lowe's Diamond Prelude Cabinets

I ordered $20K worth of Lowe's Diamond Prelude cabinets. I ordered all wood because of reviews I read about the MDF Diamond Prelude CABINETS. Biggest issue - Lowe's won't tell you how much to install kitchen until AFTER you order cabinets. Their installer took more than 4 weeks to ensure all necessary parts/pieces would be ordered. During that time I found a well recommended installer. Lowe's install price $4300. My installer who was EXCELLENT - did for 1/2 price.

They tell you if you use someone else to install - Lowe's is not responsible. Here's what happened - Diamond Prelude sent a wrong colored cabinet (ordered correctly). Took 6 weeks for replacement. They originally promised in 10-12 business days. I had 12 pieces (trim, filler) left over (after Lowe's installer said was correct) (I can't return because special ordered). Again Diamond Prelude sent 2 wrong colored pieces but can't return.
