Staples Damaged My Motherboard And Wouldn't Honor Warranty

CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA -- I took my computer to Staples easy tech based upon Staples online diagnostic that it had viruses. They removed the viruses and restored my data. The next day the computer did a weird matrix type scroll when I booted it up and easy tech told me to bring it back. They did said I needed a new hard drive. I purchased a new hard drive and they installed it.

2 Weeks later I got "black screen". They were unable to determine or fix my issue. I took my computer to (2) independent service techs (one being Fry's electronics) who told me Staples damaged my motherboard when installing my hard drive and I should take it back to them. Subsequently Staples did an anemic "investigation" in which the store manager essentially asked her tech "did you cause this damage?" He of course denied the possibility and they refused to honor their warranty. Please do not use Staples easy tech for anything!! They have abominable customer service, and experienced techs (right out of high school), and breach service warranties.

DALLAS, TEXAS -- I bought an eMachines PC somewhere else and was told I had warranty by manufacture for 1 yr and I purchased additional warranty for 2 yrs. Well the network card was damaged. I called manufacture and was told my warranty was expired since their warranty starts when manufacture sends equipment to store, not when I purchased it. WHAT!!!! Then they told me to walk in computer to manufacture. OK, I reside in DFW area. Well they wanted me to take it to Temple, TX. No way.

I then called Staples since I saw the advertisement they have that they fix computers. I took it and the customer service rep, **, was very helpful. ** explained what the problem was with the computer and explained what he had to do and that it would normally take 2 business days to have it ready. I accepted but I told him that I really wanted my PC to be ready the same day so if he could have it ready, it would be a blessing. ** told me he would try his best.

Well 3 hours later, I received a call and it was ** from Staples, "Ms. **," he said, "your computer is ready. You may pick it up any time today." WOW ** MADE MY DAY!!! Thank you so much ** and it is persons like ** that make us, the customers, speak well of a place. I definitely recommend Staples to everyone. Store is located on I-30 and Cockrell Hill in Dallas/Irving. My experience was great thanks to **.

SEYMOUR, INDIANA -- I took my PC for virus and pop-up removals. They sold me something called "Peace of Mind" for $199. They said that I did not have to worry; if anything goes wrong, they would fix by phone. The pop-ups are still there. They told me that I have to take it back. They would not fix it by phone. That is why I bought the "Peace of Mind." I am handicapped, there is no way I can keep taking the PC to them. They should have fixed it the first time.

OCALA, FLORIDA -- After visiting with the Ocala Florida Staples Store I have to compliment one of their Easy Service Tech, Ryan ** who has literally saved my computer twice. Each time that I brought my computer he has fixed the problem within 48 hour with no problem. I will only bring my computer to him, I trust his work and highly recommend him to all.

NORTH ANDOVER MA 01845 -- Congratulations to Henrique **, Matt ** and Edward ** for the excellent advice that each gave to have a corrupt hard disc firstly diagnosed, tested and then replaced. The repair was critical as my son needed his laptop for his exams. Each person showed concern for the importance of the repair. Each person provided appropriate input to the solution. Finally, all three acted as a team to provide a solution to the problem. Thank you all for the service that you provided.

CHICAGO, ALASKA -- Allowed Staples Easy Tech to look at computer - was supposed to receive free tune-up. Easy Tech told me hard drive was problem & it could fix for about $250. Lowered amount when I stated that was excessive since could almost buy new computer for aforementioned amount. Had previously returned Kindle Fire because Easy Tech wouldn't assist me with questions telling me I'd be charged if I asked questions. Made complaint over 30 days & have heard nothing from Staples - there have been two submissions of same complaint. There was acknowledgement of complaint but...
