OWINGS MILLS, MARYLAND -- We were with another company that was bought by Terminix. The transition has been seamless and they picked up the schedule where the last company left off. The tech came for a routine spray for the first time last month. We asked him for some additional traps in our garage because we noticed a mouse in there recently. He left a couple sets of the containers that have poison in them.
The tech was helpful and pleasant and explained what he was going to leave behind because it was different from what we had before. My husband said he thought it looked like the container maybe had been moved and that a mouse had taken some of the bait. We haven't noticed any activities since that happened. Overall, it was a positive experience.
GREENSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA -- I have two accounts with Terminix. One is for my son's home and the other one is for our home. They recently came and did my pest control. The technician was on time and very courteous. He came through the house, and sprayed through and around the house.
I look on my web page and it will say when our service is to be scheduled. There was a time when they scheduled an appointment for me at the first of the month, but I thought that was awful early because the tech always comes about the same time of the month when he's due. So, I know that he'll be here within the time period between the 15th and the 20th.
Nevertheless, I stayed here and waited. I got a call from the tech, but it was another gentleman that was supposed to show up, not the guy that usually comes out here, and this other tech left the phone number for me to call. But then, I needed the code or password to get into it.
Other than that, however, there's never been a problem with the scheduling of our service. I usually know when the tech is coming. Since our service with Terminix, I don't have any problems at all with pests. They're taking care of my pest problems and they've been good.
BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA -- Scheduling a service is not very good. Terminix will send messages out but they don't coordinate with the person who was supposed to do the work. It happened seven times. They sent out messages saying that the person was supposed to come and I waited around and no one showed up. So, I worked the issue out with the guy who normally comes to our house. He lets me know when he's coming. He is very good, thorough, and competent.
I don't trust the other people that Terminix sent out. One guy was supposed to check some ants or termites in one area, but he didn't do anything and wrote up as if he did the whole termite inspection. He didn't even get down on his hands and knees to look at the termites. So, Terminix sent me a notice that they've done their annual termite inspection and I went ballistic when they hadn't. Terminix is not as good in handling things.
They then sent out the regular person when it was the right time to come do the inspection and he checked everything out so I trust him. I haven't had problems with the carpenter ants and anything with the termites outside.
ALLENTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA -- My experience with Terminix has been very good and I don't see any pest activity since I got the service. I had a problem with a lot of spiders in the basement, and since I added a service concerning that to my contract, I haven't had any problem.
I like both men who come to handle my house. They're very thoughtful. One of them does my outside stuff, inspects for spiders and he also goes down the basement. When he was here the last time, I was complaining because my chair glide was out of order and the guy who is to take care of it wasn't going to be here for three days. He went down in the basement and did his inspection. And then he called up from there and asked me if I needed him to bring up something from the basement while he was down there. I couldn't believe he thought about that. When they're ready to leave, they both said they locked the door after them. They thought about that, too.
I had an occasion where the gentleman called me on the phone one day and said that he was outside my house for inspection, and I said, "What?" He asked if I got a call, and I said, "No." He then came in and checked it and he told me the number that was on the file and it was not mine at all. I didn't know how that happened, but he got it changed. And then the last time, I already got an email telling me of my business.
ALLENTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA -- We had pest problems initially when we first signed on with Terminix some time ago. We had carpenter ants, and that was the biggest problem that we had. We also had millipedes and bees. But ever since that time, we've had no problems anymore with ants. On the few occasions that we had bees, we called Terminix and they were usually out within 24 hours, and took care of the bees.
Terminix recently did both inside and outside pest treatments for the winter preparations, and the service was fine. It's always very good when scheduling our service and also if we have to change our service schedule, the reps are very helpful. They usually send the same technicians, so we know most of them, and they're fine. Most of the time when the techs come, they just stay on the outside. It's just once or twice that we've had them come inside to double-check. On the whole, it's been very good with Terminix. We've had absolutely no problems with pests since we've used their service.
GULFPORT, MISSISSIPPI -- In the area that we're at, if I don't spray, bugs are gonna come. I had a Terminix guy come out to the house and he did everything he was supposed to do. Since this last service, I haven't seen anything at all with regards to pest activity. The rep put something new down and it definitely worked better than what was there before. When scheduling service, Terminix notifies me a week or two in advance with a recorded message and everything works out. There have been one or two times that I haven't been there but they go ahead with the service. Anytime I have issues, they're usually fast. Within a couple of days, they go back to the house and take care of the issue.
AUGUSTA, MAINE -- I'm very happy with the work that Terminix did. We moved and we had big spiders here, which are the only bugs that I'm afraid of. I called Terminix and they came in and took care of the problem. I haven't seen a bug since then. Also, we had bees in the back porch and I was bitten so badly, but we couldn't find the nest anywhere. When the guy from Terminix came to spray, he couldn't see them but he sprayed around. And the next day, I went on the porch and a swarm of bees came at me again and bit me four times on my ankle. I had a reaction and it itched so bad for the longest time. I didn't want to get bitten again so I called Terminix back.
They sent a guy who wasn't very happy. He said I can't call just because I see a bug. I told him I didn't see a bug, but I can't go out on my front porch. I was infested with bees but we couldn't find the nest. He found the nest inside the door, which we would never have found, so I'm glad. The second guy wasn't as nice as the first guy. But overall, they did a great job and because the bugs are gone. I'd definitely recommend them. I'm so glad that we have people like Terminix.
PLEASANTON, CALIFORNIA -- Terminix comes out and checks whatever is necessary in our house. If there are any rats to remove, they do that. A lot of times, it's been the same guy that has been sent by Terminix and he's familiar with our house. He can do what I don't want to do.
Recently, we called Terminix for two different things. One was for regular maintenance. Almost at the same time, we also called them to double-check the various rodent traps and they came out and removed one rat. I haven't noticed any pest activity in our home since our last service. Everything's fine. The rat is gone, so that's a lot better than it was before. It has been very satisfactory overall with Terminix. They've been on time and it's worked out pretty well with them.
DAYTON, OHIO -- I am incredibly pleased with Terminix. Whenever I needed them to come, and I've called them, the reps have been very nice, very professional and they picked the day that I can have them. The tech that comes here is the same person every time. He's a pleasant and professional guy. He does a great job. It took about three visits for them to get everything taken care of because before I moved in, an old person had lived here and hadn't cleaned very well. But I haven't seen any little creepy, crawly things.
The only problem I have is when they do their regular maintenance, I get a message on my phone that the tech will be there tomorrow. If I have a problem with that, I can call whatever and reschedule, but it's normally not something that I am able to do. Recently, I wasn't home when he came, and he left me a note that he's freezing outside. A little more lead time on when they're gonna do my maintenance visit would be great.
DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA -- I had a problem with some ants and spiders and Terminix was quick to come here. I called the 800-number and a gentleman headed out the next day. He took care of business on the outside, looked at where the ants were and did something. He also replaced all the spider catchers that are in the garage. He was kind, very professional and considerate. He's a nice person who does his work and seems to enjoy it. The ants disappeared and my wife and daughter haven't complained to me. So the work he did was sufficient and I'm pleased.
Terminix has always been very reasonable in the sense that they were flexible at the very beginning. I would not change them because I'm happy with their work. I brag about it because of the experience that I had and I feel like I owe them because of the way they treated me.
