GATES, NORTH CAROLINA -- Toastmaster Model TM122Cm - I went to make a pot of coffee on Sunday morning and the on/off switch blew up and I had it just about caught a fire but lucky I unplugged it and I am very unhappy it was not even 2 months old so they need to take them off the shelves. Would be nice if the company would repay us or replace it with something better, nothing less will do.

Toastmaster toaster (lack of) customer service
By -

ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- We purchased a Toastmaster toaster in October of 2007 and used it maybe six times before it quit working in April of 2008. This toaster was purchased for the kitchen at our church and was used to toast bagels purchased at the church Cafe on Sunday mornings, which was quite infrequently. I called Toastmaster customer service and was referred to another 800 number to call for return instructions. I was to mail the electric cord plug and a check for $7.50 to a third party, and they would (supposedly) send a replacement unit.

After 4 weeks had passed, I got curious about where the replacement was, so I called the third party that was supposed to honor the warranty. I was told the unit was not being manufactured anymore and a replacement would be sent (different model/same function). When I asked the person on the phone if I would have been notified in any way by Salton, Inc., the parent company, I was told "probably not".

So I am left to assume that Salton, Inc. cashed my check and had no intention of letting me know that they couldn't replace the unit. I'm glad I called. Because of this experience, I will not be purchasing any appliance made by Salton, Inc.

Ability to Contact Toastmaster
By -

PORTLAND, OREGON -- The website does not work on any site. It takes a great deal of searching to come up with a website in the first place. I wanted to contact them in regard to the button on the hand blender. The device is a great little device, but mine has always had a problem with the button. The only way I can use it is to plug it in if I want it on and unplug it if I want it off. This of course can be awkward, depending on what you are mixing. If I can resolve this problem, I would say that this is a great little device. If I can't solve the problem, well, it's not so handy.

Item should be recalled - off the shelves
By -

I just bought 2 of these cheaper kettles for our office. They are both going back, the handles get hot when the kettle boils, not good at all! A fire hazard and safety issue!!! One of the kettles leaked when we boiled it for the first time. Terrible product and for something so simple to be so wrong, it's a huge concern. DO NOT BUY, spend the extra few bucks and get strong brand name!

Electric Can Opener

I bought your electric can opener because in the old days your name stood for something. This is just another example of imported crap that we pay our good money for. Model 2247 is stamped passed by an inspector for what a paper weight? When are you people going to wake up? I will think twice before I buy anything Toastmaster again.

Longevity

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA -- I purchased this 3 speed hand mixer model 1706 in late 1969 or early 70's and have never replaced anything on this mixer. I even have the original box this mixer came in. I wish a lot more things lasted this long. AND it still works wonderfully.

American Made Quality
By -

COLUMBIA,, MISSOURI -- I would like to tell you about one of your products. We received a Toastmaster Toaster, model #B700A as a wedding present 25 years ago. We used this toaster everyday making everything from bagels to Pop-Tarts. It performed flawlessly every time! On the bottom was stamped "made in Boonville Mo" which gave me pride in American quality. The toaster just recently burned out. It has been replaced with another Toastmaster Toaster. Sad to see "Made in China." I hope this one lasts as long.

Toastmaster Electric Kettle

SYDNEY ,NOVA SCOTIA CANADA -- Yes I purchased 2 of the Toastmaster electric kettles and the both of them are broke now and Walmart won't let me return them without my receipt. I personally think they should be taken off the shelves as they are a fire hazard too I think in my own opinion. I for one won't be buying any more Toastmaster products after this.

Larger egg cooker
By -

I have the good egg cooker with buzzer. But it only does 6 eggs at a time. I never have a problem with the eggs peeling. I just love the thing. I would love to have one that cooks a dozen eggs at one time. I think it would be a great seller once people heard at it. Thank You.
