Great Customer Service

PHOENIX, ARIZONA -- Recently took my auto in for an oil change. I was short on time and am so glad I was able to get in and out. Fred at this particular location was friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful. He didn't mind my watching everything that he was doing under the hood of my auto. He explained things and answered my questions. Although he made a helpful suggestion, he didn't get upset, pushy, or try to invoke fear when I told him "thank you, but no" so to speak. Having received friendly, prompt, and reasonably priced service I will recommend and revisit this location again! Satisfied Customer (Phoenix, AZ) March, 2016.

Messed My Coverings Up Again

DELAWARE -- I took my car to get an oil change and for the second time the same girl put my coverings on wrong. 1st time it was the battery case. This time it was the covering that went over the oil cap. When I heard this loud knocking I pulled over, opened up hood and the cover was not on as it was when I took it to them. When I took it back the guy tells me "it's no big deal". I think and feel it was a big deal because she did it before. Long story short, I think their out of place to tell me "it's no big deal", plus all my fluids were not filled up.

Valvoline Destroyed My Engine. Forgot to Put Oil in My Car.

BRIGHTON, NEW YORK -- Went to Monroe Avenue Valvoline location in Brighton, NY for a quick oil change. They missed one vital step of the oil change. THEY FORGOT TO ADD OIL! My car sputtered down the road and the engine failed shortly after leaving. I immediately called Valvoline and asked if they forgot to put in the new oil. They told me they would "check the tapes" and get back to me. About 10 minutes later I called back and was informed one of their employees was en route to my location with oil to finish the job. The oil did nothing for my completely fried engine at this point and they offered to tow my vehicle their mechanic.

I made them bring it to the dealer, as any oil change shop that forgets to put oil should no longer be trusted. Seeing that they basically totaled my recently paid off vehicle with low miles for the year of the vehicle, I asked to be compensated for the Kelly blue book value. They stated that all they have to do is get car back to how it was and nothing further. So "back to how it was" in their minds is putting a refurbished engine in from a used parts company. Not telling how this engine was maintained in the past etc.

The regional manager at this location was extremely rude during the whole process and threatened to not cover anything if we didn't agree to their offer. He also stated that we couldn't keep on going up the chain of command until we get what we want. All this and all I wanted was a simple oil change. Avoid Monroe Ave Valvoline like the plague. They will forget to put oil in your car and your car engine will be destroyed.

Oil Change
By -

PRINCE FREDERICK, MARYLAND -- I bought a brand spanking new Honda about 2 years ago. I started getting my oil changed at the local Valvoline Instant Oil Change, right off the bat, like my last car. So, the guy comes from the bay under the car. I do not know what he is doing under there. Obviously he is changing the oil, but what else, I do not know. I cannot see under there. They tell me to stay in the car. They tell me to just sit in the vehicle. I do not feel like I have a choice in that.

So, the guy comes up and says I have a transmission leak. My last car had a bad transmission leak. What is it with Valvoline and transmission leaks? I got every oil change at this Valvoline station on the dot, every 3,000 miles with my last car. This is a brand-new car. Thanks, the instant oil change is wonderful. I can get my oil changed in less than 20 minutes. Most times 15 minutes. Drive in, pull in the bay, start getting your oil changed. Its great! It does not get any more convenient than that! Then why are you making me sweat about a transmission leak? I do not have a transmission leak.

Thanks for the extra worrying and the extra anxiety put into the situation. Now I am in panic mode over that.
Okay, so he is pushing my buttons. I cannot be too sure though. They want to adjust the air in my tires. It took me two weeks of adjusting the tire pressure the way I want it. The last time I said, "No, don't mess with the tires." They coerce me into letting them adjust the tire pressure this time, same mechanic working there. I do not have a choice in the matter. So, they start adjusting the tire pressure.

All of a sudden they are digging under the hood and checking all sorts of fluids. When I leave, there is a strange "vacuum" noise coming from the engine. The tech did not put the air filter cover back on properly. I am glad I have enough common sense to stick it back on properly. I'm not going back there for fear of all the elements of worrying.

I want an oil change. I am paying twice what they want than across the street. I am paying for the convenience. So, I am paying twice the amount and with that I get a ton of anxiety, worrying, doubtfulness, is my car alright? Is he making this up? Why do I have to deal with figuring all this out.

In between oil changes I am thinking about, "Do I have a transmission leak" What is he doing in the bay under the car? Does he have a putty knife giving me a transmission leak? Why I am thinking about this two weeks after I had the oil changed? Yea, it takes me a while, in fact most of the time it takes me a while to catch on, like I am going back to Valvoline. This is so in the 90's. C'mon catch up to the new millennium and just give the oil change without the hassle.

$900 in repairs from their work

BEND, OREGON -- This business stripped my oil pan, causing me to require a full replacement, which cost more than $900 at the dealership. They stated because I was outside of the 6 month and 3000 mile warranty they could not do anything to assist. I escalated as high as they would allow and got the same response. They suggested attempting to repair it, which the dealer recommended against. It is not worth the small savings and few minutes of your time, take your business elsewhere.

JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI -- I went there with my oil light on 75%. I had just purchased car, I wanted a fresh oil change and new a/c filter. I was told that my oil was being changed but come to find out they never changed my oil. Had someone check oil because my oil light came on a month after I left and I knew that wasn't right. This place will rip you off if you don't pay attention. I never go back!
