Be careful in using Mastercard for paying your foreign currency transaction, because you don't have idea how much they will charge you in your country rate. I have charge about Rp 8,995 per SGD 1. I have never known that SGD will be so high. In my experience the exchange rate always Rp 7,000 something. I did 2 transaction in same time, for 1 transaction was using right rate (about Rp 7,138) but the other with Rp 8,995. How come the rate fluctuated about Rp 2,000 in a few minutes. I called Citibank but I didn't satisfy with they answer. They said I can't complain about the exchange rate, I have to just received whatever they charge. So with the experience, I think I will never use Mastercard again for all my foreign exchange transaction.

Its kinda I buy something without knowing how much they will charge me.
I just attempted to close my Citibank Children's Place credit card online, but was unable to do so because I didn't have the security code on the back of the card (fair enough). I phoned customer service and was greeted with voicemail telling me to call back M-F. What if my credit card had been stolen? I would have to wait until Monday to phone it in? Visa, Amex and Mastercard have excellent customer service available 24/7. I will NEVER use a Citibank service again and will be letting all of my friends know via facebook that Citibank is not a company with whom I will deal.3 Replies - Latest reply on 01/16/2010Add reply
I just got notification that my Sears MasterCard would not be renewed past its expiration date. I received a letter stating that "Based on information from Equifax, my Sears Gold Mastercard would not be renewed due to the following reasons: Too many inquiries (7) in the last 12 months. Needless to say, I am surprised. They took bailout money, raised interest rates and then canceled accounts which didn't have the 87.23% attached to them. Well, I guess they did me a favor. Citibank should change their name to CitiCrap. Good riddance. 2 Replies - Latest reply on 11/29/2009Add reply
