I'm pissed
Posted by on
I have had a problem with a sofa that I purchased 1 year ago. I called someone out to look at it because one end of the sofa was leaning and they said "your floor is uneven". I was pissed, but let it go for now. A guy just came out to look at it again before my warranty expired, sat in the recliner part of the sofa and just because he could "recline" in the seat, he says there is nothing wrong with it. My complaint wasn't that the recliner didn't work, it was that the left side of the sofa was leaning, and it's VERY noticeable. Everyone that comes into the house notices it as I did the very first day it arrived at my house. I got nowhere except that I am PISSED. This was my first, and last experience with them, and will NEVER buy another thing from City Furniture...EVER!!! My cousin had a problem with them in the past, and my best friend had a problem with them in the past as well. I should have known better. If you choose to buy from them, GOOD LUCK, but one thing I can tell you is that the warranty was a waste of money!!

if you noticed a problem when you first got the sofa, why did you wait a year before you reported it?

Why did you not tell them to take it back if you noticed it the day it came?

City Furniture Sells Crap
Posted by on
TAMARAC, FLORIDA -- Kevin Charles is defective. This furniture is dangerous. Staples are always poking me when I handle the furniture. My relatives almost fell threw one of the seats as there was no support holding the spring board and it collapsed only Staples held the springs in place. They don't stand behind there defective products nor will they examine the defects. The pillows zippers are breaking. The seams are showing stuffing. They cracked my floor tiles when they delivered it first two couches had to be redelivered because they came broken. The furniture was very expensive and the end result is you lose your money because I own a big pile of crap for 5,000.00 dollars. [snip] at tamarac is one rude woman who basically follows every other corp minded retard that blows off there customers that spend thousands of dollars with there company. Which the end result is instead of spending my money with city furniture I will never shop there again. It cost them nothing to fix the furniture and keep a customer.

Don't know how the corp machine thinks that blowing off your customers is a good way to keep biz going that's why they are all going under pooooorrrr customer service. Fix it for a hundred make a thousand later.

It is their responsibility to stand behind the products that they sell to you. If the furniture is defective and dangerous, it has no business being in your home.

Since they won't fix the products, it is best to demand a refund, and if they refuse, unfortunately small claims court would be the way to go here. Pictures with timestamps and a copy of your receipt will prove your case.

City Furniture DOES fix furniture that is damaged and/or defective..... then they put it back to their stock and re-sell it as new.

Have built a new house and was headed out to City Furniture to furnish every room, including mattress, pictures, mirrors, lamps. etc. They say one good referral is worth about $20,000 to a retailer in advertising. Here is proof -- Your report of how they handled your claim saved me a lot of headaches I'm sure, but your report cost them a lot more than it would have cost City Furniture to fix your couch....a lot more than they can imagine as I will report this to my other family members and friends who intend to buy furniture. Words like this spread like wildfire, and they had better realize it before the "gossip" eventually puts them out of business. YES -- Go to small claims court. I hope you win, as your story infuriates me. Their Corporate people probably just look at profit numbers, not realizing how their profits could be twice or more as much if they would give the attention needed to situations like yours. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR EXPERIENCE!!! I WILL take my business elsewhere and spread the word about City Furniture....maybe even on my Facebook Page to protect my loved ones.

i will also look for a better place to invest in furniture. We recently found a home and are about to close on it. My money will be spent with a company that has better customer service.

Terrible. Furniture Was Used With Dirty Q-Tip Inside

Rating: 1/51
ESTERO, FLORIDA -- Worst experience ever. Bedroom set had used q-tip in it. Scratches all over it. Kitchen table was sent back twice. Delivery personnel were rude and rough. Please purchase elsewhere!!!!! If you must check everything very carefully with a bright light. If you do not own one, then please purchase one from Home Depot/Lowes. It will be worth it.

Do not hesitate to send furniture back. You are the consumer and you are buying new furniture; therefore, it SHOULD BE NEW!!!! Shop somewhere else!!! Shop somewhere else!!!!! Shop somewhere else!!!!!

Bad Quality Furniture at City Furniture

Rating: 1/51
MIAMI, FLORIDA -- I bought a bed at City Furniture and one week later it was broken. Called customer service and they were very rude. It is not normal that a bed is broken just one week later.....I want to return the bed as even if it gets repaired it will have the same problem again. The way the beds are built is not good....

Furniture Delivery????

Rating: 2/51
FORT MYERS, FLORIDA -- All advertisement say "same day delivery - seven days a week". I was surprised when we purchased furniture and they indicated a two week delivery. Now they called and postponed for an additional three weeks. Based on all the reviews it appears we may never get our furniture! Very disappointed to date. Stay tuned...

Kevin Charles Sofa
Posted by on
TAMARAC, FLORIDA -- We bought a house in DelRay Beach Fl in 2004. We furnished it mostly out of City Furniture. We bought a Kevin Charles Sofa and Love seat as well as an oversized Ottoman. The furniture clean great and has served us well now for coming up on 8 years. No Problems what so ever. I'd buy the same brand again in a heart beat but now live in Austin Tx. where I can't find Kevin Charles anywhere.

Cracking Furniture
Posted by on
Hi. Seven months ago I got a new bedroom set in City Furniture. I noticed that the furniture was cracking three months ago. I called City Furniture Custormer Service and they told me I have to pay $45 for someone to come and fix it. I would like to know why they would be charging me because I paid $4000 for only three pieces and it's not my fault that it is cracking. This is not supposed to happen when they are telling me it's so good furniture.

Thank you.

City Furniture-Bad Customer Service
Posted by on
TAMARAC, FLORIDA -- I purchased a leather recliner as a Christmas present for my husband at City Furniture in Tamarac, Florida. My brother picked up the chair for me on December 24, 2010. He did not unwrap the chair because he was assured by a representative in the warehouse that if the chair had any problems it could be returned and exchanged for a new one-no questions asked. When we opened the chair that evening to surprise my husband with it when he arrived home, we found that the chair was broken. It does not sit evenly on the floor which causes it to wobble. We can't use the chair. I have called them 4 times and each time was assured that a repair person would call.

Needless to say I am thoroughly disgusted. I feel that City Furniture should just give me a new chair. What a Christmas gift huh? City Furniture has extremely poor customer service.

Beware: Don't Count On Customer Service
Posted by on
First & last purchase with this company. Before you make the same mistake make sure you fully understand that ALL SALES ARE FINAL! No sales person will tell you this- they are driven by the all-mighty commission.

I purchased a $2000+ sofa and love seat, added an end table and cocktail table. Delivered the next day at 10pm. After delivery men left figured out tables were too big and not exactly what I wanted. Called the next day to see if I could return them. Once delivered they could not be returned without replacing them with other merchandise and a $100 fee within 48 hours.

This company obviously does not care about building relationships. I will rejoice the day I see them go out of business. Shameful practice, disgraceful service.
