VIRGINIA -- My eye glasses came from Davis Vision labs defective. They are simple one line bifocals. The magnification part of the lens was higher and more "to the left" on the right eye, so they were sent back to be re-made. Tomorrow, it will be one month and still no glasses! I talked to Davis Vision today and was not offered any kind of compensation.

They only offered to fill out some kind of report to quality assurance!
My husband and I have vision insurance with Davis Vision. We are both very disatisied with the quality of the product. It took them 3 tries to finaly get the eyeglass lense correct so that my husband could see clearly. We got the glasses back from the company on Monday and now on Friday the lenses have fallen out 4 time in the same day. We went back to the eye care facility to have them tightened in their proper place.

We were not home 30 minutes and the lens fell out again. ( I think I know where the krazy glue is.) I don't think I'll bother with trying to have anyone readjust them. Very discouraged with the company's hiring of the lens maker and grinder. It's just poor workmanship.

I am going into 6 weeks of trying to get a pair of eyeglasses. The first time they sent them to the Dr office, they had bad lens, the second time the lab sent them to the Dr office, the prescription was wrong. This is the third time the Dr has ordered these glasses. The lab told the Dr that they would call me and work out something. No communication at all from the lab. This is totally unexceptable!! I have asked for a refund so I can use another lab, even offering to pay out of pocket but Davis Vision will not give refunds. So my money is tied up with a company that has very poor quality and no communication. I am now trying to get my employer involved.Add reply
Awful, rude workers who can't be bothered to help you. Constant wait although 10 workers are visibly doing nothing. I have to go because of my insurance, if not I would totally avoid this place. 4 Replies - Latest reply on 12/14/2013Add reply

I went to Davis Vision last year and the service was quite slow but I thought it was okay. I wear contact so I need to go to them annually. This year, I switched to a new insurance plan and their service is unbelievable TERRIBLE!

First, they yelled at me while they cannot find me in their computer. And the manager grabbed phone and yelled back "I AM NOT YELLING". 2nd the appointment they gave me is like 3:55pm so I said okay 4pm. Then the lady began yelling "IF YOU CAN'T COME AT EXACT 3:55PM, WE CAN'T GIVE YOU THIS APPOINTMENT". So I said, last time I waited an hour and it makes no difference. Then she went on "THAT'S BECAUSE YOU HAD INSURANCE PROBLEM". I said please don't yell at me. She said again "I AM NOT YELLING!" while yelling back to me. So I said it's not my problem. You simply couldn't find me in your system. Then she just said "oh" without apologizing. I am speaking of the Little Neck NY Davis Vision.
NEVER GO THERE EVER! I REGRET NOW THAT I PAID THEM THE CHECKING FEE OF $80 DOLLARS!!!
3 Months and Counting
Davis Vision is completely and utterly incompetent. It is extremely obvious that they do not care one bit about their customers. I ordered (and paid for) prescription sunglasses over 3 months ago and ... read full review1 Replies - Latest reply on 05/10/2011
LATHAM, NY -- Went to OD Doctor for eye exam at Costco. Submitted OUT OF NETWORK claim for with the examiner's signature for eye exam and Costco's figure for frames and lenses filled in and signed by both OD, Dr and the glasses Vendor. Included a copy of my prescription which also included charge for eye exam and a procedure code of 92015 (not noted on claim form. Got a rejection of Exam charges do to unapproved procedure code "refraction 92015. Always something with these people and we pay for coverage under COBRA since GM canceled retiree eye care and dental many years ago. I do not go to their providers because the make so many mistakes and have poor quality frames and lenses. Called to question the rejection but the CS representative had no access to my paperwork so will request it be reopened, now I wait again with no confidence of reimbursement.Add reply

LATHAM, NEW YORK -- Submitted a reimbursement form weeks ago. Called to check on status of claim. They have no record if it and recommended calling back next week...they cannot even tell me the typical turn around time because it "depends on the number of claims". Seriously? How can a company not be sufficiently staffed to cover periods of high demand? Will definitely let my employer know this is an unsatisfactory option for vision coverage. 1 Replies - Latest reply on 02/06/2013Add reply
