I Got Ripped Off!!
Posted by on
OLD SAYBROOK, CONNECTICUT -- I ordered from flowersforyou.com for the first time on 9-30-10 for a friend's funeral. I ordered what I thought was a nice arrangement in a vase and I upgraded to the deluxe to make sure I got a better than average arrangement. I spent around 60.00. I was so embarrassed when I got to the funeral home for the visiting that evening and there sat my flowers in a "vase" that was the size of a soda can; it was pitiful.

It looked like something I would pay 19.99 (maybe) for in the grocery store. I will never use this company again.

Where do you find websites with names like that?
Anonymous on 2010-10-01:
were there pictures on the website? I know generally website pictures aren't 100% accurate, but at least that could have given you some kind of idea.
Have you tried contacting the company?
Anonymous on 2010-10-01:
Why didn't the OP go to a local floral shop and personally view and request what they wanted?
Skye on 2010-10-01:
I just went to the webside, and they have a beautiful selection of sympathy flower arrangements.

OP, just as mr.vw mentions, have you contacted them? You should be satisfied with what you ordered and since you are not, let them know about it.

My condolences on the loss of your friend.
momsey on 2010-10-01:
This is a great reason to just go to your local florist!
Skye on 2010-10-01:
I agree momsey, but sometimes maybe the OP's local florist is not in the same area as the deceased. When I need to send flowers out of town, I usually google local florists in the area to use, to send my arrangements. None of this third party stuff, which gives everyone a headache. Also, many times the funeral homes, have on their websites, local florists shops they recommend to use, during times like this.

Nice that the op warned others, during such a stressful time in their life.
momsey on 2010-10-05:
Skye, it doesn't matter if your local florist is in the same area as where you want to send the flowers. A good florist will be in a network. You can tell them what you want and they'll go into their network and have another good florist send the flowers.

But yes, I agree, there's never a reason to use these random websites.

Do Not Use Them!
Posted by on
96738, HAWAII -- WARNING DO NOT USE THEM! I ordered flowers and balloons for the owner's Birthday of our company on 5/11 @ 8:23am, which lives in Hawaii. I stated to the agent that I needed it be delivered on 5/11 no later than 3pm. At 1:23pm I call fromyouflowers.com and inquired about my delivery. The gentleman said it did not go out yet because the vendor that they use did not get it yet. I asked for the vendors number which he refuse to give me. He stated that he would send the order again to the vendor. At 2:20pm I called again inquiry about my order and was told that the delivery will not make it today and that they could have it deliver on 5/12 and said they were sorry and that they would give me a $10.00 upgrade. I expressed how disappointed I was being that the Birthday was 5/11 and not 5/12. She apologize and said they would get it out on 5/12. I received a call from them this morning stating that the vendor did not have the orchids that I wanted and they would be able to fulfill my order next week. I expressed that I was not happy at all about their services and disappointed that this was a special day for the owner. All they could tell me that they were sorry. I stated that I will never recommend anyone to use their services and that they were a rip off and big disappointment.

I will report them to the Better Business Bureau and tell everyone not to use them. I will see how long it will take them to credit my credit card. Lousy service I highly recommend you not use them!

Horrible Experience
Posted by on
Anyone who plans on getting flowers for a dear one should avoid this merchant! On may 6, I fill up an order online to deliver flowers to my mother on may 9, a day before mother's day and the order neither arrived on may 9 or 10. I had it delivered a day earlier for fear of this kind of situation and still they fail to deliver!

I called customer service about 9 times that day and they say a different story each time I call. They promised to deliver the flowers within 2 hours after I talked to them and until 8pm of may 10 I was calling them to demand an explanation why it has not been delivered and the customer service always have "high demand/high volume" as excuse. One of them even said that the latest would be Tuesday, may 12. Great! And one of them even told my husband that we were lucky we are only paying 50 bucks!

They were not apologetic at all! I wish I could have read reviews about them before I ordered. And to think that our company endorses them! And because it has become so frustrating and to avoid further dealings with them, I cancelled my order. They were simply horrible!

Does no one go to a flower shop anymore?

Whenever I send flowers I actually put some tought into it by going into an actual flower shop, looking at what they have to offer and making my selection based on what the flowers actually look like.

It seems like an after thought to go to a web site, click on a picture and enter your CC number.
jktshff1 on 2009-05-12:
Robf, and you are supporting your local economy.
BokiBean on 2009-05-12:
Its not fair to fault the OP for ordering online. They should be able to expect that flowers ordered online or in person live up to their value. 50 bucks is 50 bucks, and they should get what they pay for... Its no less thoughtful either way.

starrafish on 2009-05-12:
well, the only reason why I used an online service it's because I live in midwest and my mom is in New Jersey. And we have a corporate account on fromyouflowers that knocks off a couple of bucks whenever we order.
but never again will I transact with them.
BokiBean on 2009-05-12:
starrafish, I hope you let your company know what lousy service you got from them...
Anonymous on 2009-05-12:
starrafish - Try this next time. Maybe your mother has friends with opinions on their local shops? Ask her. In the future, deal directly with the local shop. NO order fees so you'll get full value in flowers! You'll also know who to talk to if there's a problem.
starrafish on 2009-05-20:
guess what?! my ordeal is not finish yet!
10 days after I cancelled my order, they have not return my money back. I called the customer service on the 5th day and he said that it was to be processed that night. and today I called them again to ask what was the problem and they can't just give me a proper explanation and said that it will be on today's batch. I am really, really frustrated. I don't want to call them anymore. I don't want to have anything to do with them. but I just can't ignore the fact that they still have my money.
does someone know, aside from my credit card, where I could report this company and file a complaint?
your 3 cents would be worth my 50 dollars :)

Bad Service From This Florist
Posted by on
I ordered a bouquet for my bed ridden aunt's birthday two weeks in advance. This company did not deliver the flowers by 3 pm on her birthday when I spoke with my aunt.

I then called the company to remind someone to deliver the flowers. The person on the line promised to email me when the flowers were delivered. I got no email. When I next called I was promised that the flowers would be delivered the next day and I would get a call from the company when that happened.

I called the next day and the flowers were delivered a day after her birthday but FromYouFlowers never took the initiative to contact me as promised.

If they couldn't deliver on your aunt's b'day I would expect a full refund. But that's me. Helpful review.

False Advertising For Same Day Delivery
Posted by on
TEXAS -- I mistakenly ordered a spray for a funeral that we weren't able to make out of town, from fromyouflowers.com. I didn't get the details until Sunday morning. Ordered the flowers online - for guaranteed same day delivery. They were ordered by 9am - well before the 2pm cut off for same day. They verify by zip code if they can do it. I got a call at 2:30 pm that day - saying they couldn't make the delivery. Unbelievable - so now I can't make any arrangements with any florist because it is after 2pm.

So now - we have nothing to offer our condolences to a long time family friend, to a funeral we cannot make.

I would be aggravated also. In the long run, however, your friends will get much more enjoyment and comfort from a beautiful plant that you have sent to them at home, after the funeral.
Ponie on 2009-02-23:
I'd be a little upset if that's what they advertise, also. Ken has a very good point. I've heard/seen others send flowers to the home rather than the funeral parlor. Especially if you're close to the survivors. It warms up the home a bit which understandably seems very vacant after such a loss. I think your friends will like Ken's idea.
Anonymous on 2009-02-23:
Thanks Ponie. I have a large, lush plant in my upstairs bathroom. ( think it thrives because of the steam from the shower). People who see it always comment on how beautiful it is. It was a plant that was sent to me from out of state friends when my mom passed away. So I speak from experience.
Ponie on 2009-02-23:
Right, Ken, both on the steam and experience. Especially if the plant is in the tropical family. My Sis has one in one of her bathrooms, no windows, and that doggone thing grows like crazy. Experience? Me, too--spouse.

Same story

My story is similar to the ones I read (wish I had read them beforehand!). I ordered flowers from this company for a high school graduate. I was impressed that they could do a Sunday delivery. I received a call Monday that they could not make the delivery and would send an apology note and upgrade at that time. Very robotic employee, no apology, no remorse. Most people that send flowers need it sent on a particular day, timing is very important or its not the same. This company is awful, awful. Beware!

No Customer Service-No Delivery
Posted by on
I ordered Flowers for Mother's Day on Thursday, May 7, 2009 for delivery on Saturday, May 9th between 9-6. To date the flowers have not been delivered. My credit card was charged on Saturday and I have had no response from Customer Care.

I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and would urge you all to do so also!
