Intelliflix is a SCAM!
Posted by on
I have been a member for almost a year. They have stopped sending me movies, because if you want the new titles they keep moving them to the QUEUE area and tell you to pick more titles. I HAVE NEVER gotten a game sent to me, even though I have 15 listed in my QUEUE. They tell me it's because gamers keep them longer.
I have been trying to cancel my membership for 4 months now.
They will cancel it, but not refund any money. So if you pay for a year- which you have to, you have it for a year. Here is a copy of the last email sent to me

Subject : cancel my account

Description : This is the third time I am writing to you. I wish to cancel my account and be refund for the past 3 months as you keep moving my picks to "the waiting area" and out of the Queue. I understand games are being kept longer but I have NEVER received one game and that is the whole reason I joined your program. Please no more excuses, no more chances, just cancel my membership and refund the money owed to me.
Response : Dear Nicole,

Our goal is to provide you with a great service at a great price. I see
that you have decided to cancel your subscription plan.
We value your opinion and business and would like the opportunity to do
everything we can to resolve your issues and concerns and keep you
participating in the Intelliflix Experience.

However, as requested your request for cancellation has been processed. The cancellation takes effective at the end of your current billing cycle and refunds for unused portions of a membership will not be given.

We would like the opportunity to turn around your experience. Please let us know how we may be of further assistance or if you have any

Best Regards,
Intelliflix Customer Support

One word....NETFLIX!

They have been great

Maybe Netflix doesn't offer games, but it has the greatest program going on DVD rentals. For $16.00 per month now, we get three DVDs at a time, we can keep them as long as we need, and delivery time is usually one business day. We have gotten DVDs as new as Ghost Rider with no problem. if we get a bad DVD, they replace it at no cost, and we can watch movies on our computer, up to 18 hours per month. Sign up for Netflix, and you will soon forget the bad taste of Intelliflix.

Intelliflix is a scam!!!!
Posted by on
Intelliflix is obviously a fraud. How do they manage to stay in business, companies like this one must be shut down and prosecuted?
They got me with their so-called SuperPass PLATINUM (I would say SuperRip-off PLATINUM). And here is why:

Received 6 movies from which: 1 DVD damaged, 2 DVDs I never even queued (they put those movies in my queue themselves, and sent me them when I deleted everything from my queue, getting ready to cancel the subscription).
3 DVDs out 6 listed as not returned (so they will charge me for each $20)

Take a look at my rental history:
Title Date Shipped Date Returned
Carolina 2006-Dec-14 2006-Dec-30
Stand (Special Edition/ Old Version) 2006-Nov-18 2006-Dec-05
Garfield - A Tail of Two Kitties 2006-Nov-17 2006-Nov-25

Problem Items...
Herbie - Fully Loaded
Delayed 2007-Jan-02 [email us]
Delayed 2006-Dec-14 [email us]
Russian Roulette
Delayed 2006-Dec-14 [email us]

Does this look to you like a joke? It isn't really, when it comes to loose more than you already lost (I still have to go through and get the refund (what is left) from them).

Oh, and don't believe those websites that rate Intlliflix high (probably another scam), try for yourself and find webmaster's/website contact address - I never could.
To those few I could, I sent them an e-mail that they are liars, they never responded (only one webmaster responded that they will reconsider having them on their website at all).

And another scam, if you see on some websites that have customer reviews a review from Eileen - Intelliflix Customer Support - don't believe, the e-mail address is bogus.

"Intelliflix is a scam" Seems like there are a lot of scams going on in this age of the internet.

I called and asked Intelliflix if they had the movie "Skid Marks". They said they had Skid Marks on BVD's, not DVD's.

FL Atty General says Intelliflix
Posted by on
WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA -- Paid for 1 year at the end of March, 07. Today is August 20, 2007, 5 months later. Intelliflix has managed to ship me 13 titles to date, and absolutely nothing in over 3 months. I've sent countless emails to them to no avail. Their only response is that I should have at least 10 movies in queue. I always have at least 10, but still nothing. I have never dealt with such a band of thieves and liars in my life.

I received this information from the Senior Assistant Attorney General in West Palm Beach, FL:

"Our investigation remains open. The company represented approximately a month ago that it was past due on its rent, unable to pay the CEO any salary and that it was soon going under, I have verified the CEO's representation that he is in personal foreclosure on his palm beach county residence. I will contact you directly in the event of a financial recovery, which does not appear likely. We will take such action as is appropriate at the appropriate time."

In other words, we've all been screwed and there is doubtful recourse. Another SunRocket!! Stay very far away for your own sake.

Thanks DGuy that's some quality information. I voted your write up as 'Very Helpful'.

This is copied from the web page of the Florida Attorney General:
Intelliflix offers annual contracts for consumers to receive DVD's by mail. At the time that this investigation is being opened, approximately 40 complaints have been received. The issues are: (1) Whether Intelliflix ships its DVD's within the 1-3 day time frame advertised on its website; (2) Whether Intelliflix's website disclosure of its refund policies is unclear and likely to confuse consumers; (3) Whether Intelliflix has failed to honor its stated refund policies on multiple occasions and, if so, whether this is an infrequent occurrence or a systemic problem; and (4) Company's apparent failure to register with Florida Secretary of State, even though headquartered in Florida.

I have been very happy with Netflix. You should give them a shot,I'm sure you won't be disappointed
Starlord on 08/20/2007:
Why? Why? Why? Why in the world would you ever sign up for Intelliflix for a year??? We paid $17.00 per month until early this month, when Netflix annnounced they were dropping the price on their plans by $1.00 per month. Do you people who signed up for Intelliflix have loose brains? It sounds to me like everyone with Inteelliflix is being rooked, and Blockbuster is being sued by Netflix for infringement on Netflix's idea. We checked out Blockbuster and their deal sucks big time. Netflix rules. Hint: dump Intelliflix and go with Netflix for the best in DVD rental programs. Go, Alley and jenjenn!

Delivery or DVD lost?
Posted by on
After reading a review by Consumer Reports concerning DVD rental services by mail extolling the virtues of Intelliflix as the "best value in DVD rentals by mail," I decided to sign up for their monthly deal at $16.95 for 3 DVDs at a time. I filled up my queue with 20 titles. I received 2 DVDs after a few days and the third never showed up. I viewed the 2 DVDs and returned them. One was noted as returned and the second never showed up. I received another and returned it. Two of 4 DVDs were now missing. As part of the deal, Intelliflix charges $25 for any missing or lost DVD. Seeing the handwriting on the wall, I emptied my queue and canceled my subscription. I am now being charged $50 for those 2 missing DVDs. Including tax, rental fee for one month and the $50 for 2 missing DVDs, I will have paid $68 to view 3 DVDs. Does this company have a perfect scam going or what?

I fired off a complaint to Consumer Reports' Web Watch with no effect. Intelliflix still uses a video on their web site with one of Consumer Reports' reviewers calling it the best value in DVD rentals. Contrast this with my subscription with Netflix. In 22 months I received 387 movies and only one went missing for which I was charged not one cent. Intelliflix is a ripoff and Consumer Reports is a willing accomplice.

I've had about 6 dvd go missing in the life of my Netflix account and never been charged. Netflix are without doubt the best out there and surprised that Consumer Reports believe that Intelliflix are as good as they say.

Yes, Intelliflix sucks, but I think this reflects more on Consumer Reports. From now on, what Consumer Reports says is as worthless as those paid "review" websites. I now get my information from sites with customer reviews. The people who had to deal with the real product or service in question are the ones who know best.

I have tried all three Netflix, Blockbuster and Intelliflix. Neflix was very good but the shipping was too slow. Blockbuster have been great overall and I will be sticking with them.

Intelliflix. What a waste of time I have been trying to cancel this Account Now for five days and every time I get a new email with a new ticket never the same person.

Every movie I searched for was either non existent, or had a long wait period. I cancelled the account the same evening I joined. It took them 2 days to reply and 5 days later and several more tickets down the line and still the account has not been cancelled. I have now also asked for my money back. They have said they shipped a movie but I will believe that when I see it. I have asked the mail man to watch out for this Intelliflix movie so I have a witness if it is received and I shall be returning it via certified mail because I do not trust them after all the 100's of comments I have read about this company on the Internet.

DO NOT JOIN THIS COMPANY. some people like Netflix and some Blockbuster so stick with what you know it may be a couple of dollars more but at least it is safe.

I have now deleted my movie queue and contacted my bank regards this company. I also plan to write several letters to the appropriate authorities with copies of all email received and a copy of Intelliflix terms and conditions. If they just gave me my money back I would drop it But I cannot see this happening.

Looks like the local movie store is not so bad after all....

Intelliflix DVD Rentals

WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA -- I paid for a two-year subscription for 2 movies a month in May 2007. They were sending movies according to plan for 2 months, but ever since then they've been screwing me. Each time I wrote a support ticket asking for another month's credit for the months that they sent no movies, and they said they would give me credit.

Now they just don't send movies and don't respond to my support tickets.

DVD Delivery

I agree with everyone else! I signed up for Intelliflix over a year ago & was very happy at the beginning. All of a sudden this summer, I quit receiving DVDs. I would email, enter a ticket & complain. After complaining I would occasionally get a movie, but it was usually damaged & unwatchable. I complained more & they extended my membership 2 weeks - then another 2 weeks, so I have an additional month membership - which still equals zero additional movies.

I sent an email telling them I do not authorize them to renew my membership & switched to Blockbuster!

Most of these online movies rental stores are starting to offer on-demand streaming service. You can stream movies directly to your TV via a uPnP AV server.

This is the one I use (for over a year now).

Wireless HD Media Player

It works well and no movie to return.

Horrible Service & Damaged DVD's
Posted by on
It looks like I've fallen to the same trap many others have already endured. I have 40 titles in my queue and haven't received any title above #23 on my list for 4 months now. I never have 3 out at a time like they promised. I see the trend. Have you noticed that those like I who prepaid for a year or more are the ones who are left out in the cold with bad service. They are focusing on the monthly rental customers because they don't want to lose their business. As for us we are stuck. Yes, I too have tried to get my money back time and again only to be ignored. I've emailed the president of the company desperately only to be ignored as well. It looks like $100 dollars down the drain. Pass the word on to friends as I am. Good luck to all!

We keep trying to tell people, drop Intelliflix like a bad habit and go with Netflix. It really is the best DVD rentqal outfit going. Does Intelliflix charge a big upfront fee? Netflix doesn't. You obviously don't get your DVDs in a timely manner. You do with Netflix. Apparently, Intelliflix charges an arm and a a leg. Netflix just lowered their charges by $1.00 per account. We dropped from $17.00 per month to $16.00 per month. Does Intelliflix allow you to screen movies at your computer? Netflix does, 18 hours per month at no additional charge. On the whole, I would take Netflix eight days a week over Intelliflix.

Can you wait over a year to get your DVD
Posted by on
PORTLAND, OREGON -- The mistake I made was renewing my annual 3 out membership at $190. I have 45 movies selected but none ship as they are not available. One has not been available for 15 months! You put them in order somewhat like you would like to see them but if you are lucky to get one at all it is from anywhere on the list.

I live in the NW but most of my DVD come from Mass. The reason they do not need to send you another while yours is in the mail.

I suspect their plan is on yearly membership is to dribble movies out to increase profit. They have no phone customer service and thye keep your card on file which will automatically renew over and over.

Watch out and if for some crazy reason you want to deal with this group do it month to month and hope you can cancel out without too much additional cost.

By the way I have contacted them several times when no DVDs show after they have received my returns for weeks. Their answer is even with 45 selections in que there are none available to ship.

We just had a little hiccup with Netflix. We got a movie that broke up in the middle so badly that it stopped and paused in the middle. I got on the computer and notified them, this was Saturday night. Thanks to the mails, we had a replacement copy of the movie on Tuesday morning. I know some of the movies we have on our list haven't been released yet, but we are in the queue. That $190 scares me. We spend less than $17 per month and get the best rental program around. We can even watch 18 hours of movies on our computer with no extra charge.

Stay Away

MIMAI, FLORIDA -- You will probably be like me and read this after you made the mistake. My mistake is to pay close to $200 for a 3 out annual pass then get no movies several days after they receive my returns.

This happens a lot now. They say they are not available. I have 40 selections made and none are available so you pay $200 to write emails. It is a scam where they have few rentals to send but suck you in you with a yearly discount which by the way they tack a $15 service fee on on top of after the fact.

I am tickled to death with Netflix. We just had Final Destination, and it started breaking up so badly we couldn'twatch it. I jumped on the computer and in less than five minutes, let them know. That was Saturday night, and they shipped the replacement copy out his morning, and it doesn't count on the amount. Great company. I hope their suit against Blockbuster is successful.
