PHOENIX, ARIZONA -- Me and my mom brought a ruby ring on sale from Macy's expecting it to be a real ruby ring, after multiple enquiries with the sales associate we were told it was as the inclusions were visible. We purchased the ring and sent it to be resized, once we got it back we realized that the main ruby had multiple scratches on it. We immediately returned the ring and got our money back. The Macy's associate argued with us that a ruby and a diamond can easily be scratched by a steel knife and he can prove it. In truth, a ruby and diamond are 9 and 10 on a MOHS hardness scale and can only be scratched by a something equally hard such as a ruby or diamond not a steel knife which is 7 on a hardness scale. This post is to warn everyone to be careful before making such expensive purchases at Macy's.Add reply
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- When You advertise an item then not have it available, lets say in TEN stores, from New York City to Montauk LI NY, and of course online, then I would say that it is false advertisement, Macys I am sure is well aware how they advertise, knows about this, and has an army of law firms to back them! I for one, will not shop there any longer. Oh yes, have there credit card, which they would not let me use, 48 hr for payment to go through, but if you are late, your done, with them!!!!! Class Action Suit ABSOLUTELY.Add reply
Enough of the duplicitous sales tactics! Yesterday's advert: starting tomorrow, 50% off the regular price of cashmere sweaters. Surprise -- today the "regular" price increased by $50. That's not the kind of store that I reward with any kind of loyalty and neither should others. 2 Replies - Latest reply on 11/24/2012Add reply

Miracle at Macy's

ONLINE -- This Tuesday there was a "one day sale" event at Macy's in store and online. I spent about 40 minutes adding items to the cart and checked out. At check out 7 out of 10 items in my cart were "unavailable" even though they were still listed on the site. Contacted customer service, was told that the IT department only updates the site every 24 hours. The next day, those same items I wanted are still listed so I added them to my cart again, thinking the site must have been updated and these items are somehow becoming available. At check out the very same thing happened. It's a time waster, really, and a big disappointment. Today they are having another sale event, I went through the site adding different items to my cart, and at check out every single 1 of my items added were "unavailable". I shop at Macy's just about every week or every other week and do a lot of online shopping at their site as well. But this is becoming such a hassle. Very unsatisfied.Add reply

I am writing this concerning the add you ran in the Sunday inquirer Cincinnati Ohio, The young model appeared to be anorexic and in my opinion this looks to be bordering on child pornography. I don't think this is the image that young girls to aspire to look like. If you continuing to run adds like this I will no longer shop at Macy's.

I was shopping at Macy's at Lenox in Atlanta this weekend. I would think that the principle way to bolster sales in this economy would be to have excellent customer service. I received just that in every department except shoes. Looking through the sales merchandise, the racks had the names of the employees responsible for each rack. This was insane. It's not like they were wearing shirts with their names on them. You can't see name tags until you get right up to a person. I waited in line for 10 minutes at the "customer service" counter in shoes just to be told to "go ask someone over there." She pointed into a crowd of people. I just left. To add insult to injury, I stopped down in the full-price shoes just for a second and clerks were so eager to help with these shoes but the sales racks "weren't their department." I spent $300 Saturday but none on shoes.2 Replies - Latest reply on 09/05/2011Add reply
