DALLAS, TEXAS -- Morgan Buildings & Spas uses their 'warranty' as a big selling point. But, as we have found out, their 'warranty' is in fact a joke. We bought a shed in 2000 and recently discovered that one of the supporting wooden beams is rotting. More than 2 months after we first contacted them about it they sent someone out to inspect the shed, then they claimed that the shed was getting wet because of our sprinkler system (duh- it's outside in the back yard) and so was not covered under their warranty.
Since they didn't tell us that their sheds are apparently for indoor use only, I contacted the Regional Sales Manager, then the National Sales Manager. To date, we have nothing from them- they never return calls, nothing. I have also filed a complaint with the BBB as Morgan is apparently not a bit concerned with customer service. This is a lousy company & I would encourage anyone who may be considering buying anything from them to definitely shop elsewhere.
ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO -- I purchased a used Morgan Spa from the Albuquerque, NM store. I put 500.00 down. The total purchase price was 2000.00. I was told a credit check would be run and I would be offered financing. After three days, I received a call. I was then told I was denied credit, but they would finance from a company called "US Credit" at 18%. I declined this and asked for a refund of my deposit. They claim it was earnest money (which is a legal term for a deposit in good faith). I never had the spa in my possession. They had the spa still at their store. It was less than a week from when I put down the deposit. They refused to return my deposit.
I have no problem with being denied credit, though I know my credit score is in the high 700's. I do however know that laws in all states allow for return of product in original condition within a certain time, usually 15 days minimum.
