I bought a Philips LCD TV in model # 40PFL3705D/F7 serial # YA1A1024006735 in late 2010 and here we are in December 2013, the TV is already broken. I switched it on yesterday afternoon, it switches on but no picture or audio. Initially, I thought it was a minor issue but every time I switch on since then same no picture, no audio.

I called their Customer Care Department, guy I spoke with said he won't offer any assistance since the TV is out of warranty, I'm thinking Philips reputation is online here so the little revenue from their warranty program shouldn't matter at this point when the durability of your product is stake, you expect a TV to last more than 3 years!!! I have a Panasonic TV that I've for almost 15 years now!
I owned the Sonicare EssenceToothbrush which was suppose to be one of the upper end lines of it's toothbrush products. It lasted less than a year and a half be fore it would not charge or turn on. I bought the Xtreme brand of Sonicare and it lasted less than two months before it stopped working. It would run for only a few seconds and turn off. When I called the company their attitude was quite non concerning and very unhelpful. The offered to replace the less expensive product but not the product that I paid the higher price for. The manager I spoke to presented a non-concerned attitude and basically told me to take their offer or not.

They would not replace the more expensive product. I will never buy another Socicare product again.
Bad Customer Service
OHIO -- I received this as a Christmas gift & the CD player never worked. I called & they said they would send a replacement & I would send the defective one back. It was going to take 10 to 15 business days. ... read full review2 Replies - Latest reply on 01/29/2013
GROVEPORT, OHIO -- My toothbrush quit working a short time after the warranty ended. I called sonicare and they said that they would honor the warranty because I had purchased other products from them in the past. I was sent the first replacement and the brush worked for a week and then it would not recharge. I called them again and they said that they would send me another one and the same thing happened again. I contacted them again and they said that they couldn't help me, but after telling them that I was afraid to purchase their products again they decided to send me another one and guess what, same thing happened again. I sent the first replacement back to them and now I am going to mail the other two back. These tooth brushes were different than my original one because they had green stripes on them. All I can see is that these tooth brushed must all have very weak batteries in them because you can only charge them once and then they won't charge again. I am really mad because I have a box of four heads that I can't use now.Add reply
These units cost $180 each and last less than two years. Garbage product. Go to ORAL B! 1 Replies - Latest reply on 08/24/2012Add reply
Transaxle Whine 2010 Rav4

I bought this because it's the strongest I can find, and I need that. But it has a design flaw: the orifice where you plug in the coaxial cable tends to fall out. Once it does, it CANNOT be put back in; even if it could, there's no guarantee it's making the necessary contact.

I returned one unit to the store when this part fell out immediately. I threw out two other units that failed later. I notified Philips, even sent them the loose part, and:
-- they did not thank me for my valuable advice.
-- they did not replace the two failed units.
-- they did not keep me informed of what (if any) steps were being taken to correct the design flaw,
-- they did not get back to me at all!
This is unacceptable. I will not buy any more of these units until the design flaw is fixed. I'll miss a lot of TV here in the sticks, but I refuse to pay for satellite or cable. I want a signal booster that won't fail on me-- is that too much to ask?
Beware Philips Flat Screen Buyers
Purchased this 2-1/2 years ago for $1200.00 at Sam's Club. I purchased this because the company has always had a good long reputation. I now have absolutely no picture. Talked to a salesman at Sam's Club ... read full review
I hope this review can help save someone from making the mistake of buying a Philips (or anything made by them) TV. My plasma, like a million others, went bad after about 3 years. It just clicks and will not turn on. I was overwhelmed when I saw how many complaits there were about this problem. It seems that Samsung has the same problem but is taking action and repairing their TV's free of charge like a good company should! I called Phillips several times not getting anywhere, e-mailed several times and got to response. I recently contacted my local news station on their consumer hot line. They are also trying to contact Philips. I'm hoping enough people submit complaints to everyone they can so that Philips owns up to its mistake! My friends Samsung was fixed by a professional in a matter of minutes! Well, my Philips TV is all Samsung parts so why won't the fix it??? STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!3 Replies - Latest reply on 01/13/2011Add reply
I spent the extra money buying LED Christmas lights last year. They worked through the season last year but I got them out yesterday and 2 out of 3 strands of LED's half the lights were out. One strand completely lit the other two strands only half. It is not a burned out light either. I am totally disgusted at the money I spent for one season. My advice spend the money on the other Christmas lights that light for years and years and skip the LED's.4 Replies - Latest reply on 12/01/2010Add reply
Lasted about two years. Blue line started appearing down right-hand side of screen. Repair would cost over $700 for a TV this is now valued at @ $250. Wrote to the company, but never even received a reply. To me, that is the most aggravating part of entire process. Add reply
The Senseo single/double serve "pod" coffee maker was recalled a year ago and I dutifully provided information for a replacement. Over a year later after calls and e-mails, no response from this company. I was convinced they must be going through bankruptcy but no. . .they're fat and happy and I'm still waiting for my replacement. If I had any doubts that mine was a lone issue, after reading this great site, I am now convinced this is systemic for this company. Philips has many other products that sound and look interesting but I'll be darned if I'll ever buy or recommend them to ANYONE -- EVER again. Buyer beware with this company.Add reply

I bought a defective Philips LCD TV. I called the
Philips customer service 1-866-771-4018 number.
I was put on for 1 hour 10 minutes.
Instead of letting me returning the TV and getting my money back they send a smaller cheaper model TV and used.
I had to argue for 15 minutes to get my money
back because I didn't want the used TV.
Now I have to wait for 6 weeks to get my money
I HIGHLY recommend to not do business with these people.
