WINNETKA, CALIFORNIA -- My parents of all people got me switched to Phone Power. They were paying less than I was with Vonage and hadn't had a rate hike like I had. Service is just as reliable as I had before, I'm just paying less. Works for me!

CALIFORNIA -- No contract was required for service which is nice.  Its been working smoothly since I hooked it up this month. Not a long time I know but we'll see. It was the cheapest for what I wanted and the sales people were really helpful.

Installation took a little longer because I didn't read the directions. But it's working great and saving me money.

MISSOURI -- Paid my bill in full and returned all equipment. Phone power turned my account over to a collection agency and is unresponsive.

Fair Renewal

Rating: 5/51
I started the service a year ago now and was happy to see the rates didn't get hiked for my renewal. I'm still paying under 16 bucks a month for service. I can't speak as to how their hardware is since I used my own, but the service has worked great for me without any interruption.

Happy with PP
Posted by on
I've had no issues with them really. Just happy to find something that works, is very well priced, and has support available if I need it. Been with them long enough to know it works long term. If your device does malfunction, they replace it for free. Hard to go wrong here.

Years later, still happy
Posted by on
Phone Power has been a great company. After years with them we are still happy. They gave us a very fair renewal price, which doesn't happen with some of our other services. The phone service has worked great and it was really easy to set up and maintain so non-techies need not be scared.

Helpful staff

I really appreciated the sales girl I talked to. She helped me figure out what would work best for me and that included informing me where I could get the hardware local to me so I didn't have to wait for it to ship (Frys). It ended up being on sale, but they still credited me the normal price of the hardware ($80)so I ended up with extra money on it actually! Its been working great although its just been about a month and a half, but the number was up and running really quick.

PP is the smart choice when looking for VOIP providers. I've told plenty of friends about my extremely positive experience with them (2 and a half years) and a couple that were looking to cut costs have switched. I haven't lost any friends over the recommendation haha so everybody is happy! You can either bring your current number with you or get a new one to try it out so there's no reason not to give it a shot.

Great Promos
Posted by on
Well it doesn’t get much better than an average of $12 a month total. They are always running some type of promo and that’s the one I signed up with (prepaid plan 2 yr). Was impressed that the sales people actually knew what they were talking about, which unfortunately is not the same for all companies I’ve had contact with, seemed like a deal so I signed up.

Five months down the road and it’s been working as intended the whole time. I’m not missing my old landline at all.

Looks like the "terms of service" has same "gotcha's" that Vonage has. No guarantee of service. Absolute guarantee to charge your credit card. Auto-pay appears to be mandatory.

Anyone should read the terms of service for any of these VOIP services BEFORE jumping in. I, for one, find them totally unacceptable. Some, I expect, may luck out and not have any problems. Many will. But should they arise you are probably SOL.
