Failure to Transfer Autopay Accounts After RBC Buyout

WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA -- PNC buyout of RBC - complete FAIL. Automatic payments for INTERNAL accounts - specifically line of credit payments - were not transferred. Other EXTERNAL payments were transferred, so it would only make sense that the internal automatic payments would be transferred. But of course that would not benefit PNC, so they just let it go, never CONTACT the customer to let them know that the account is not paid and subsequently charge late fees and ultimately report derogatory feedback on credit reports. I have had NO negative credit on my report until this occurrence. Do not bank with PNC - complete lack of ethics.

Not So Online Banking

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA -- I am a former National City customer whose account was purchased by PNC. I also bank with Chase Bank. Chase has a great modern online banking system. I recently opened online banking access to PNC. Unfortunately, I forgot my new password and hoped to reset it. With Chase, they will automatically send you a text message with a temporary access number so you can get on right away from anywhere in the world. PNC doesn't do that.

In order to change my online password, I have to call them by telephone (not online) and then they will mail me a new password through snail mail (not online). They couldn't even email it to me. I know they have my email because they send me advertisements. None of this is state of the art or convenient. I think I'll transfer my accounts back to Chase.

$100.00 Mistake...

GASTONIA, NORTH CAROLINA -- I have been with RBC Bank for several years. NEVER had any problems or complaints. When PNC took over it was only a few weeks I had deposited a hundred dollars through the ATM. I noticed on my statement about a month later where they had credited my account for a hundred dollars.

I called and waited on a representative for twenty minutes or longer. She then told me that it never made it to the correct department. It showed on my statement where I had deposited it and then they took it out and credited it back. Not sure what happened but don't like it at all. I have read a lot of really BAD reviews so I will be looking for a new bank SOON before they really mess my account up. Maybe if everyone else would do the same they would go out of business which in my opinion that needs to happen.

Savings Account Set Up For Children Raided With Bank Fees

SOUTH AMBOY, TEXAS -- In 2001 I opened savings accounts for my 5 children. Then we moved away in 2006. I did not receive any communications from the bank. In 2009 I contacted the #800 listed on the last statement I had received in 2006 and was told to call the branch where the accounts were opened. From 2009 through 2011 I was given so much run around by the various managers that claimed they were in charge and operators who recognizes my voice and my phone #.

Now residing in Texas I was at the mercy of these people I spoke to, who tried to tell me that nothing can be done to return monies put into savings account for minors and now has been used up (stolen) by the bank for fees. My question remains how can you teach a child about savings if the banks will steal their money and claim they were used for fees and how can my children get their money back?

Modification Process
By -

After reading other complaints I realize PNC does this to everyone. I have been working with getting modification since May 2011 and I'm no further into it, they keep asking to fax updated info never once have called me. I spend hours of my time calling and calling and faxing. With absolutely no results. I don't believe they ever intend on modifying your mortgage and just to shut you up keep asking you to fax info that sometimes they receive and then turn around and lose it?? This process has been so stressful, but I'm sure once they don't receive a payment I will get my very first phone call from them since last May 2011.

Customer service there isn't any. I'm trying to work with them and stay her in my property but there is no one home at PNC. TOTALLY FRUSTRATED DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. I have done the leg work and got nothing from them. At one point they were forwarding me to a voice mail of someone who didn't work for them anymore and hadn't for a whole month lol. How does something like that happen, I'm sure it was done on purpose to not have to deal with customers.

If I was behind on a payment I'm sure I would have had a live person on the phone not a VM of an employee that left a month prior. It's now December 2011 and they are asking me to update my file again and fax updated info again, I just did this Oct 2011 lol. If anyone out there has any advice please forward.

Botched Auto Loan Denies Me Title to Requires Me to Pay Anyway.

COLUMBUS, OH -- Stay away from this bank. They can really ruin your life! I had purchased/financed a used vehicle and they botched up the paperwork so badly that the manufacturer will not release the title, but they established the loan and still hold me responsible. I cannot drive or license my $33k car due to PNC's horrendous handling of the title work. And they are still holding me to the loan. It's been two months and no sight of a resolution. The manufacturer got their pay-off and they consider the car still owned by the prior owner, who is unreachable.

They are destroying my (once 811 score) credit, costing me thousands and basically ruining my life. I'm so sick from this I cannot stand it. Attorney fees will be through the roof. This started with the PNC Branch on Henderson in Columbus, OH and has progressed to their upper tier loan centers with no resolution (all of PNC has been useless in trying to resolve this). Henderson Road, Columbus is horribly managed (well all of it is). And this after being an excellent customer with a prior vehicle. PNC is heartless and will not resolve this. They simply say, "sorry." So, please find another institution to finance through and save yourself the pain. These people are thieves!

Pnc Crooks

NEW JERSEY -- PNC bank takes advantage of people. They know you don't know what is going on in certain situations and they are legally able to rob you. Then they tell you what you should have known. They talk you into opening accounts that will make you lose money. You don't know this until it happens. I lost about enough money on an account with them that I could have bought a brand new car with that money. It was some kind on brokerage account or something. Then they tell you nobody held a gun to your head to make you do this. I also just found out that they are stealing 20 dollars a month out of my checking account because it went below $2,500.00 in my checking account.

I don't know how long it has been going on. I just noticed this and talked about this to a rep there who put two months worth of stolen money back in my account. I want it all back. I have been negligent in looking at my checking account statements. I need to fix this. I did get this charge to a free checking account. I was told they can't refund all they took from me. I need to go back and see how far back it went. They take advantage of you and then tell you you should have would have and could have known.

Happy to Leave PNC
By -

Had several accounts at PNC for years. One of them was a "Free" checking account they offered a few years back. NEVER overdrawn on the account. Then, after a year, they suddenly started taking $50.00 out for no reason. I called and they said they take this fee out once per year as a maintenance fee. I told them that I never agreed to this, after all it's supposed to be a FREE checking account. They said they will put the $50 back into my account but it would take 7 to 14 days.

I was not very happy that they would just take $50 without informing the customer. How many other people have they done this to? I only used this account to pay my bills so I deposited just enough to cover my checks and nothing extra. After 2 more years, I suddenly get a notice from PNC that they're closing my account but it didn't list a reason why. I called and they told me that when I opened my account, the agreement stated the I have the right to close my account at any time without providing a reason, and they have the same right. She stated that they choose not to give me a reason.

I know the reason. I didn't let them rip me off with their illegal fees on a supposedly FREE account. I'm actually happy they closed that account because I then closed my other accounts with this crooked bank. To me, PNC stands for Pigs 'n Crooks. Anybody else have similar problems with their so called "fees"?

Disappointed With PNC Fees
By -

BELLEFONTAINE, OHIO -- I deposited a check on Mon. Aug 9 of $4,300. I had a previous balance of $275. I expected that the funds would not be available for at least 24 hours but in actuality they were not available until FRIDAY August 13th. Thank goodness I went online on Friday and noticed or I would have written a check to the IRS that day. Although my account never fell to zero (according to the ledger balance), the funds were 'unavailable' and as a result two other checks went through; one on the 11th and the other on the 12th.

I was charged two OD fees of $36 each so now I am again short because of the unexpected $72 withdrawal so until I withdraw even more money from my IRA I still can't pay my taxes. Four days to access my own money. REALLY? GRRR!

Denial of Own Funds

I myself am not a customer of PNC bank and never will be after watching what they did to my brother. My fiance went to jail for child support. I contacted my brother who is in Afghanistan Fighting for our country to help get her out. He then contacted his wife who is in Washington. They have over 20,000.00 in their PNC bank. They attempted to do a wire transfer online to my bank in the amount of 1400.00. It was declined by their bank. They then called their bank and asked what was going on. Nobody could tell why the money could not go through. They then authorized the bank to withdraw the funds from their account and send me a check for $1400.00.

The bank informed them that I would have it in 3 business days. After the 3 business days passed and no check was in the mail I contacted my brother. Again there was more communication with the bank. They said they thought it was an attempt at fraud and offered no resolution. Now my fiance who I am supposed to marry in 2 days is still in jail and the bank still has my brother's money.

My brother is now opening a new account and changing where his pay goes. This is a smart thing on his part but still don't help my fiance or myself. Thanks PNC. I would never recommend this bank to anyone. Emergencies happen and that is why you save money. When it happens and you cannot get your money it is useless. It would be the same if you did not have it. The bank is the only one who benefits. If you want a good bank try Regions.
