Listening to music on a CD player that skips no matter what CD is being played or, worse, a player that cannot "find" the disk inside is frustrating. The fix may be as easy as cleaning the device with a cleaning disk (available for less than $10) or as complicated as opening the case of the player and realigning the read head (the part that looks like a glass eye). If this fixes the skipping but you are still having trouble with the audio, check your fuse if it is a car system, or your speakers if it is a home or portable system.

weird. I have an RCA Scenium ( I think that is what it is called) that I bought a few years ago - it was my first "big screen" HDTV. I've never had a problem with it or the bulb. However, modern electronics can be inconsistent - the 2nd HDTV I bought went dead 18 months later - no warranty :(

Here is a website link to problems w/RCA HD bulbs. Hope it helps.

Rca is junk

This product stopped working after just 14 moths. RCA is no longer a USA product and trying to deal with these nitwits is a joke. They gave me a rote response to my complaint and when I tried to go higher up they shut me off completely. Stay away from RCA!

N. RIDGEVILLE, OHIO -- My 27 inch TV only lasted 2 years I'm not happy with this. Do you think I should have to buy another TV all ready? Shouldn't RCA replace it or should Walmart. I'm not a happy customer.

Thank you,

bud

I honestly didn't know RCA TVs were still being made. When I look at electronics store ads all I see are Sony, Samsung and Magnavox. I was thinking about looking for another RCA TV since the one I have now I've had for around 16 years without a single problem. Guess the quality of the brand has declined lately.

Awful Customer Service

I have a RCA phone and it is under warranty. it took 7 days to finally get through to them that it was under warranty. After many hours on the phone they then inform me that they can't do anything until they have the receipt faxed to them. I did that and then they tell me it will take 14 to 21 days to ship the replacement out.

I requested talking to a supervisor because I had already spent 7 days on phone with them. they said one would return my call. well I am still waiting.

RCA TV

PALESTINE, TEXAS -- I purchased an RCA 32" HDTV 32V434T last September. Last month it began turning on and off frequently. We had to unplug it at night in order to sleep. I contacted Walmart and was told that I would have to take it to an authorized Repairman. The nearest one is over 100 miles away. According to other reviews, it would cost more to repair it than it cost to buy it.

I have read other reviews and this is a common problem. Why don't they recall them?

A recall COSTS the company money. You purchasing another one MAKES them money. Which do you think they are most likely to lean toward?

I never buy any high-end electronic products at Walmart or available in Walmart.

They carry low-end electronic junks.

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4810690

This is also not a HDTV. It has a ATSC tuner to convert HD to SD. It downscale the resolutions.

This is why it costs $276.00 @ Walmart.

When purchasing electronics it's always a good idea to do some research on the make and model that you're interested in, prior to purchasing. HD TV's are definitely somethng you want to be willing to spend a little more on for a long lasting, quality product.

Justcuz, I here what you are saying but I would wait a few years before I bought one of those hi dollar pieces of JUNK they call HD. There is no why TV is worth that much in the first place.

Mary-c-dotes, wait until the maintenance catches up with the technology till you buy the crap that is out there now and NEVER buy electronics from Wal-mart like they say, it is junk!

LCD prices have been coming down as more TV makers are switching to LCD over CRT and plasma.

My first Sharp Aquos 45” LCD was $3,500 (two years ago).

I just purchased my second Sharp Aquos 42” LCD was $1600 (few months ago).

DVD Recorder

NEW JERSEY -- Horrible experience dealing with RCA/Thomson Electronics on a brand new video recorder that would not work out of the box. Wait forever to get a "Customer Service" (what a misnomer!) representative on phone.

I returned faulty unit and have been promised a replacement in "7-10 business days" THREE TIMES. Each time I wait, nothing arrives, I call again. They tell me it's impossible to follow up with any individual to assure shipment. It's now 2.5 months since I returned faulty unit, and I'm about to give up and cut my losses. The time I have wasted on hold and the frustration dealing with RCA/Thompson leads me to recommend that readers buy from a different manufacturer.

If was defective out of the box, you should have returned it to the retailer you purchased it from, and had them exchange it. You are now caught in the cesspool of electronic repair and service.
richb on 2007-06-06:
No more were available from the retailer. I guess that was a clue that this particular model was a loser.
