INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI -- 45 minutes, I understand on Mother's Day. It's busy to wait for a table. Ok. 1 hour and 30 minutes to get cold food, I don't understand. Saw three other tables served before us. Waited a half hour for manager to come to the table. Pathetic performance. No sympathy from manager. Nothing but excuses.
INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI -- The worst service ever! The service was slow, the food served cold, missing items that were ordered and the wrong dish. No biscuits were served until the end of the meal, no butter for the crab and lobster, no salmon although the menu was 1/4 salmon features. The manager finally stopped by, but no change, even then with slow/no service. I've been eating at Red Lobster since 1975 in Omaha, NE. No more, not free, no gift cards ever again. I'm not mad, I'm just getting smart after poor service for 3-4 years at the Independence, MO restaurant.
GRAND FORKS, NORTH DAKOTA -- Pasta was extremely oily. Order side of crab- NO WAY it was 1/2 pound- served cold and contained hardly any meat, smallest “crab leg” I have ever been served or purchased at any location. My boyfriend had the walleye which he said was the worst walleye he had ever had there- soggy and very disappointing. Contemplated asking for our money back but with the screaming baby kicking the back of my booth and the two groups of 10+ sitting 2 inches from our booth- kids running around the tables taking pictures, we wanted out.
Had card out 2 minutes after food was received, wanting to leave, boxed 98% of food to go which later was disposed of.. Seat/host and Manager seemed to have better things to do then sit us before our waiter arrived- Host talked so fast we couldn't understand him and left before we could ask any questions. I am 23- it was not my lack of hearing ability.
Server was fantastic and clean cut- tipped 18%-waited for bread and drinks 8.50 lobsterita- think they forgot the liquor- I have been a bartender/waitress for 5 years- it wasn't busy- there was a general feeling that no one wanted to be at work that day, maybe gossip was more important to the manager, it was like a high school. When we walked in it was like- sigh* how many? Will never return to this Red Lobster -very angry at the 63$ I spent on one of the worst food experiences at Red Lobster, was loyal customers for many years with tabs always over 50-100$. From MN. I moved to ND three years ago and have found the experience at this restaurant to decline every visit.
This will be our last time at this establishment and now discourage all our friends and family from dining at Red Lobster. I am being harsh but I am being honest. I'm still very angry. Want reimbursement of some kind. Never have contacted an establishment with a complaint like this. What a waste of money.
DUBLIN, OHIO -- My daughter and her husband took me out for Mother's Day dinner. I chose Red Lobster in Columbus, Ohio the Sawmill Road location. We went in around 8:30 pm. The Hostess attempted to seat us in a booth that was in a corner all by itself next to being seated in a closet... There was clearly other seating available. I had to ask for a table out with the other people in the dining area.
We ordered an appetizer lobster, crab and seafood stuffed mushrooms. My son-in-law ordered the NY Strip and Rock Lobster Tail, my daughter ordered the specialty Atlantic Salmon with asparagus instead of broccoli, I ordered a specialty dinner as well lobster tail, crab legs, garlic shrimp scampi with bake potato.
The appetizer was a total disappointment, a rip-off. When our salads were served they were a mere small handful of lettuce with two very thin slices of roman tomatoes, a small piece of onion and I got one crouton with dressing. Another disappointment. Steak was awful. Son-in-law said it was at the top of his list as worst steak ever, lobster tail was rubbery and tough, my crab legs were dry, my baked potato looked sorry. My daughter's salmon was thin & tough not flaky and moist as should have been. Her asparagus was overcooked. The lobster tails, crab legs and salmon I feel were reheated in a microwave?
If they want to charge the prices we paid they need to serve food worthy of their price. I have seen the lobster tails they served us at our local grocery stores for a few dollars in their frozen food case. I think it got later and they just used up what was on hand rather than waste what was lying around their kitchen... I would not recommend them. A very sad experience... When we were ready to leave our waitress did not come back for a full twenty minutes. I missed my movie...
Had a manager stopped by to ask about our food I could have given an earful. I would have told him to pull up a chair and sample a few bites. I have no problem paying their price but I would like to leave thinking how good my meal was and planning on my next visit. Not leave knowing I could have prepared this meal so much better at a fraction of the cost...
YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO -- This has to be one of the worst Red Lobster locations that my wife and I have encountered in over 26 years. When we first walked in, we proceeded to the carryout section because we were staying at a nearby hotel and decided to just take our food back and enjoy it at the hotel. No such luck! First of all, we were greeted by the most unprofessional and unfriendly staff person (older woman with glasses and short red curly hair). As this wasn't already a turnoff, she intentionally wrote the order incorrectly, despite the fact we explained it to her twice. When the order was ready, the above person assured us that everything we ordered was in the takeout bag. Yeah. Right.
After we got to the hotel room and started removing the items from the bag, we realized that our stuffed mushrooms with crab and shrimp were not included in the order due to her inability and meanness to focus on our order. The king crabs were dry, lack of moisture, pre-cracked in the back and when cracked opened, the crab meat was falling apart and some pieces even fell on the hotel carpet. These crabs were old and stale. There also was no salad dressing included. This is totally unacceptable for the exorbitant prices charged by Red Lobster.
We are not patronizing Red Lobster ever again due to this inferior type of food and service that was provided by this Youngstown, Ohio location. We mean Red Lobster entirely. We had written a letter certified return receipt to the Red Lobster headquarters over 3 weeks ago, to no avail. We sent the letter to the attention of: Ms Kim Lopdrup, President - Darnden restaurants, inc. - 5900 Lake Ellenor drive - Orland, Fl 32809-4634.
Since Red Lobster has yet to acknowledge our complaint, it is a direct indication that customers who keep Red Lobster's business flowing, especially in light of the present recession, are not given top priority and are perceived as nothing more than a mere nuisance for expressing their dissatisfaction at the type of sub-par service and food that had to be endured. With that said and done, we will be relaying this dismal experience to all our family members, entire church congregation, friends, neighbors, students, active senior citizen groups, students, etc. not to patronize Red Lobster ever again. Red Lobster is not the only game in town.
COLUMBUS, OHIO -- I had just ordered a carry out order for the Admiral's Feast, and at $17.00 I was expecting a decent meal and got a good amount of food. The meal itself was clam strips, scallops, butterflied shrimp, and a fish fillet, all of which was fried. This came with a side and salad which I chose a baked potato and caesar salad. The salad to start with looked decent however I didn't receive any dressing for this so was really unable to eat it. I ate it later with different dressing and really wasn't bad. The lettuce was rather fresh and tasted OK, however without the dressing really could have been anything and would have tasted the same.
My baked potato was horrible. It was so over-seasoned I really couldn't even eat it. I had to try to wipe it off and do anything to get rid of the massive amount of salt on it. The meal itself unfortunately was about the worst part. The scallops were about the only good part. The clam strips I ate about two of because they were just bad. There was really no clam in them it was almost all breading and the clam that there was was overcooked so badly that they couldn't even be bitten through. The shrimp were about the same. They were just really tough and lacked almost any flavor. All of the seafood needed so much sauce to taste good at all.
The fish fillet was actually pretty good, kind of soggy by the time I got to eat it but the fish itself was cooked better, flaked apart and one of the good parts of my meal. Overall though all the seafood really lacked any flavor or taste and was not cooked well. The only part of the meal I ate that I actually ate all of were the biscuits which are pretty good, but everything else was really just not good at all. It has been a while since I have eaten at Red Lobster and each time just seems to be going down hill. I will not eat here again as I work in a fish restaurant that is comparably priced, I would be embarrassed to serve anything like this to our customers.
Again, this food was just bad, overcooked and over seasoned yet still lacked any real flavor. The woman that was the Hostess was really nice and friendly so I didn't want to say anything to her knowing that she had nothing to do with the food, but it was just not good. What happened Red Lobster?!?!
MISSOURI -- I have never been to a Red Lobster Restaurant before. My Husband saw this one while we were driving and mentioned that he had not been here for years and it would be nice to have dinner there with our 3 children. So we stopped and went inside where we were informed about the 10 min wait. The waitress called us and took us back to our table, right in the middle of the restaurant. Our youngest daughter is only 4 months old and was in her car seat on one of the restaurant's car seat slings. Several times waiters walked by balancing full trays of food dangerously close to her and bumped into the sling's frame.
We ordered our food and had to wait about 20 min until the biscuits arrived, another 25 min until our dinner was served. When it did arrive I was really disappointed. My husband had told me what a great place "Red Lobster" is so my expectations were high. I did not expect a plate with stale fries, burned calamari and broccoli and dry mozzarella sticks. I could not believe that after all this wait this is the best they come up with.
After a while the waiter checked on us to see if we are enjoying our dinner. I told him that I am not enjoying my dinner actually and he took the plate and suggested for me to try one of the great deserts. So I ordered a delicious looking apple pie from the menu. What I received was a piece of pre-made apple pie, hot on the outsides and still frozen in the middle and a 60 dollar bill, with no rush to pay according to the waiter, who by the way had to be asked for refills several times. I thought this restaurant was a great disappointment and I will never eat there again.
DECATUR, ALABAMA -- When money was better me and my wife used to visit Red Lobster 2-3 times a year. As of late as with most of America money has become somewhat tight, but we wanted to take out kids out for a nice meal to a place they don't hand you your food out of a window. So we decided to spend a bit too much on a meal that in the past was expensive but the food was good.
The first change we noticed was the rolls. In the past these delightful rolls where handed out on a plate 2 for each person at the table - they brought you more if needed. Tonight they gave a plate of 4 to serve 4 people. OK no real biggie except by the time they got to table we were almost done eating, so I don't know if they would have offered more as they became our dessert. Not only were they very late to the table they seemed very lack luster compared to past visits.
Now I ordered the ultimate meal and I must admit the lobster was very good. The crab on the other hand was a very small portion and the legs were somewhat soggy. They supplied no tool with which to crack the claw. I am a large man and most say have very strong hands... Lucky me as I needed every once of that strength to break the claws open. One would think at these prices nutcrackers could be supplied. My family for the most part rated their food as better than the stuff at that place under the golden arch's but nothing to come back for again.
Our biggest disappointment of the evening and the reason we will never visit another Red Lobster was the hidden charges on the bill. Not the fact that it cost us over $100 to feed a family of four which on its own was outrageous. They have the nerve and audacity to charge $1 EXTRA FOR A "Extra Tomato Sauce." First off we did not order any Tomato Sauce, one was brought out on the plate for my teenage daughter's fries. There was no extra Tomato Sauce on table and it was not even requested.
Does a company that charges these already outrageous prices expect its customers to pay hidden fees as well? What's next a napkin surcharge? Well Red Lobster your one dollar has cost you 2 long time customers today, and by the sounds of my kids they won't be asking to come back either.
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- My wife and I have a date night 2 to 3 times a week. I know she had been wanting Red Lobster for a while so we went to the Red Lobster on valley view just off the 95 for dinner. Not busy just average only 5 min wait 45 min serve time food came incorrect no salads. They said "Sorry we forgot." They forgot my wife's shrimp scampi and my chicken was so overcooked it was like leather. For dessert we had the molten cookie and for a hot dessert the core was still frozen. All and all this food chain is forever removed off our list and will never go to from servers to food horrible and if there was a negative star I'd have given it to this place.
