NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA -- Like others have discovered, the great "low rates" advertised by US Park are anything but lower than the competitors. I had a very short business trip and was in their lot exactly 2.5 days. Of course I was charged for 3 days which I figured I would be since I had consumed most of a 3rd day. What irritates me about this lot/company is the "additional charges": 4% State Tax, 4.75% Parish Tax, 10% Parking tax (What!!!), 7% Airport fee (Wait… I wasn't parking at the airport? Must be because they drive onto the airport...funny Uber and taxis don't charge me that).
Thus, my parking for uncovered parking was 10.95 per day with the above additional fees which totaled $41.31. Bottom line is that $41.31/3 = $13.766666 per day to park in the uncovered lot. It's only $11 to park at the airport without extra fees. Guess where I'm parking going forward, in fact if I see a US Park sign, I won't park in any of their lots. I'm also super curious on that 10% parking tax. I hope the IRS is collecting revenue from that...does anybody know if that is even a "real" tax? At minimum their rates are deceptive.
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA -- I found it outrageous and immoral, possibly illegal to find that on top of the $8.50 for outside (Dirty) parking, there were the following Taxes?? added to the bill. Parish tax 4%, State Tax 4.75%, Parking tax (what the hell is this?) 10%, and an airport fee tax 7.0%, adding up to 25.75%.
This is a crime. Is it even legal to add a 10% tax called parking tax? Is this not a illegal representation of the actual parking fee stated at $8.50 a day? The last is an airport fee 7%. I didn't park in the airport, I parked at an offsite location. Please forward this to anyone that will listen and take back America from the thieves!!!
KENNER, LOUISIANA -- For the second time in 2 months, I was left in the rain for over 15 minutes waiting for a shuttle to the airport. This time I had to call information on my cell phone and get the number in the booth, and call and ask them to please come pick me up. About 2 minutes later a shuttle arrived and dropped 2 customers off and the driver told me I could not get on that this was a 'drop off' shuttle, and another would be around. 5 minutes later a shuttle finally arrived. I also had to wait about 15 minutes for a shuttle back to the lot. For all of this I got to wait in line for another 15 minutes just to get out of the lot.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following: I would consider parking in this lot again if I could receive the next parking for free. If this happens and my third experience is just as bad, I will certainly take my business to another lot. At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident.
