Complaint

LA GRANGE, ILLINOIS -- I have to agree with the woman who complained about Penney discontinuing the Cabin Creek pants. Purchased those pants for years in every color and bought more when they begin to wear. Could not believe when they were no longer available. Really cannot find much to purchase at JCP any more, hope they are happy with their loss of business and the use of my credit card. Used to do a lot of Christmas shopping there but I have found other stores. Who are they trying to please anyway???

When I see these complaints about JCP dropping this clothing line, it strikes me that this was a conscious business decision that JCP made.

It may have been a good or bad decision, but it seems that if these were a profitable item they would have continued to carry them.

As a JCP investor, I have to admit I am praying that whatever choices they make in the next year, that they are able to correct the course they are currently on.

Yes, Cabin Creek was a profitable line so was the original St John's Bay. That is why JCP has no sales and is billions of dollars down.

They are bringing back St John's Bay in May. But it will probably be the cheaper JCP line with St John's Bay tags.

A lot of us never even used the coupons or waited for sales, I bought it because I wanted the product.

I do not want this cheapened thin fabric stuff, no matter the price. It is disposable clothing they have now.

A while back, I walked into a JCP and was struck by how cheap and tawdry their mens "leather" jackets were. That used to be the place to find high quality reasonably priced classically styled leather coats and jackets. Not no more.

JCP has apparently got caught in the middle of the "Made In East Asia" phenomenon. And they are not the only ones...nless you are Ted Turner and live in Manhattan you'll simply have to do with throw away clothes, or just repair and tend to the good stuff you bought years ago.

Like the previous commenter I have been unable to cash out a $75 JCP gift card I got as a retirement gift 5 years ago. Not for lack of trying.
