SEATTLE, WASHINGTON -- The blader of my washer got torn and got A & E Factory Service to get it fixed on 4/27. The technical person came and got it fixed and less than a month the right was not put up tight so that came out and I had to call them again; He promptly came and got that also fixed. Then we moved out of the house and last month we rented it out and again the water started to leak; We called up A&E and the same story starts off again but now we have to pay. Keep away from these guys!

WORST COMPANY EVER!!!

LANSDALE, PENNSYLVANIA -- Our washer tub broke. A&E Factory Service came out and gave me an estimate for the repair... over $1300!! A new washer costs under $900. Whirlpool helped me with the cost of parts so I scheduled A&E to come out to do the repair. First appointment... no one showed. Their systems showed appointment was cancelled. Next day after waiting from 1:00 - 5:00 the prior day and now not getting a call till 3:00, the serviceman called and hung up. He did this three times!

I immediately called A&E to tell them that I am at home waiting for the tech but already the appointment was cancelled with a note "NO ANSWER... CUSTOMER NEEDS TO RESCHEDULE". When I again tried to call Customer Service, I was put on hold for 20 minutes, then the call was disconnected!!! I would NEVER recommend the company and I will never be using them again!!!

A&E Has Terrible Customer Service and Technicians Who Lie

DALLAS, TEXAS -- Maytag gave me A&E Factory Services number, so I thought they would be reputable. I could not have been more wrong. A&E Factory Service is a terrible company! I was schedule to be technician #** first stop of the day at 8AM. 8:20 AM, I get a phone call saying that the technician knocked at my door and I was not home, so he left a note. No such thing happened. (I understand that technician wants to go to a 5th floor apartment, but my building has 2 elevators if he didn't want to used the stairs.) There was no note. The company said I'd be the technician's next stop.

At 9:20 AM, I called to follow up that and was told my window had been moved (without my consent from) 8AM to NOON to 8AM to 5PM. After they tracked down the technician, I was told he said that he was not even in my area on an "big job that would take at least 2 hours". I told them, I had trouble believing this from a person who would was caught lying about about putting a sticky note on a door.

Customer service was equally difficult to deal with. I was constantly having to provide each agent with the same information I'd given to previous agents even when my call was transferred. Promises to call me back in 15 minutes were not done, so I had to call them back and deal with the whole process over again. I found A&E Factory Services to be rude, disrespectful, inconsiderate, and liars. I would encourage you do business with somebody else and encourage manufacturers like Maytag to not do business with them.

Sears & Maytag Beware
By -

LAKEWOOD, NEW JERSEY -- Unfortunately for me when I contacted Maytag about a problem with my refrigerator they hooked me up with A&E which in retrospect makes no sense - why would a great brand name want this type of negative association and publicity? Long and short of it is they charged me $240 for labor for putting in a simple relay switch and I got had. Called company and they agreed it was excessive for 30 minutes of work but that's what they charge regardless if it takes 30 minutes or 7 hours to fix. Consumers beware - get estimate first before they arrive, my bad and I paid for it. Hopefully Better Business Bureau will be able to help.

The Broken Dishwasher

MELVILLE, NEW YORK -- Initial call to repair was Nov. 2, 2011... Scheduled for Nov. 10, 2011. Repairman came Nov. 10, 2011 and looked at unit and made adjustments. Said loose connection (charged 123.47). Two days later went to use dishwasher would not run. Contacted A&E. Sent repairman out to fix dishwasher. He diagnosed the problem as a printed circuit (did not have one on the truck). Ordered the part from the factory to be shipped to my address. Once received I was to make a repair date for A&E. The date the factory was to ship part on Dec 12. That came and went.

Called A&E for an update (Do you think they should have called me?). New ship date Dec 28. Called again. New ship date Jan 12. Finding this new information out I called a local appliance distributor and purchased the part and installed it myself in less than 15 minutes (the same part that A&E could not get in over a month). What are they doing in business? I asked for a refund as they did not repair on my unit of the 123.47 and I intend to report them to the Better Business Bureau and Angie's List to warn others of their practices. I think I am at least owed my money back for all the inconveniences they have caused me.

Worst Service Ever

A & E is the worst service company. Didn't show up for an appointment. I called them to find out why the service tech. didn't show and was told a lie. Then they gave me 3 different appointment in less than 2 hours. Was to call me back and they never did so I call them back at 5:00 PM and I schedule a appointment for Friday which I will never would have gotten if I didn't call them back. I hope they show up. I have to spend extra money and go to a laundromat to wash my clothes which I shouldn't have to do. A & E is a very disappointing service and a non reliability company. Whirlpool needs to find a better company to service their appliances.

Awful Service, Dishonest Company

COLORADO -- We were having our Electrolux dryer door repaired (for the 2nd time in first 6 months of owning it) and A&E was called by Electrolux to warranty our product. They were supposed to be at our house on June 30 from 1-5. At approx. 4:30 I got a call saying I needed to call them to reschedule my appt. I checked my answering machine and found that the tech had called a short while earlier saying they were overbooked and he wasn't going to make it.

When I called the customer service line to reschedule, they made up some story about the tech having a family emergency. Clearly a lie, but okay, I'll reschedule. The representative tells me the earliest they have is the following Tuesday, July 5, since Monday is a holiday. She schedules me from 8-12.

Big surprise, I'm up and waiting for these guys to show up and when I haven't heard from them by 1 PM, I called to check. She then tells me that actually the appt is for July 19! I would consider the possibility of having mixed up the dates except for the fact that the representative I previously spoke to specifically scheduled me for the day after the 4th of July holiday! Now here I am, waiting another 2 weeks and I have serious doubts about it being done right at that point. Bottom line: These people are dishonest and unreliable. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Find someone else to do your repair, even if it's just the local handyman!

Appointments Not Kept
By -

This concerns A&E FACTORY SERVICE 1-800-771-3029. On 5/4/11 I had an appointment between 1 and 5PM to have my Whirlpool noisy hinge (?) refrig door repaired. Had talked to ** and was quoted a price of $99. The tech was supposed to call before coming. No one called and no one showed up. I was home from 1 PM on. The next day I received a recorded message to reschedule my appointment.

I finally called A&E and inquired why the tech did not call and keep the appointment. The answer was that the tech ran out of time and that he had called at 3:58PM. This was a lie, since I was home and if the line were busy I still would have received a recorded message. Also, I gave 2 phone #s. I made another appointment for today, June 9 between 8 and 12PM and this time I was quoted a price of $109. When the tech had not arrived by 11:45 I called 800-771-3029 and talked to **. I told him about my concern, he apologized and said he would get in touch with the tech.

Now it is 2:45 PM and I have not been contacted. What is going on with your company?? You should be paying me for all the wasted time. My time is also worth something. PS: At 1:50 I contacted 1-800-771-3029 (**) and asked to talk to a supervisor. She came back to me once to let me know that she is trying to locate a supervisor. That is the last I heard. After a few minutes the line went dead. Note: I sent the above to aeservice@aefactoryservice.com.

Awful Service from A&E
By -

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- A&E has been to my home 4 times now for the same service request. Every time I schedule an appointment, I'm given a window of time for the tech to arrive. And each time, the tech has been late beyond the window of time. If you schedule service, prepare to take the entire day off from work. I've had to use 4 days of leave from work. Each time someone come to my home to repair my dryer, they don't know what appliance they are there to repair and I have to explain the problem again. They keep no record of the previous tech's visit. Every tech that has shown thinks this is the first time that anyone has come to service the appliance.

They stay for 5 min then tell me that they need to reschedule because of various reasons. I really can't comment on the tech's level of skill because they haven't done anything. They have been rude, disorganized, and unprepared. They've even tried to redirect blame to me for their inadequacies telling me that I shouldn't have purchased the dryer. I'm spending too much money on my home remodel. (How would they know what I'm spending?!) If you have the option to use another appliance repair company, do it.

Liars, Cheats, Scum A & E Factory Service
By -

This company is nothing short of scum, but that is being polite. They scheduled an appointment for 8am - 11am and then decide not to show up. Then they call at 1 to say that the technician is running late and will be there soon. At 5:15pm after an entire day of business is over they call and say that they would be out, but never show up.

After calling them to reschedule they say that they do not have another available appointment until 3 days later. They then say that they called at 515 to come out, but were told that service was not needed... Why even say this lie and keep telling me when I know this was not said. They do not even go so far as to guarantee me someone will be out at the times they say. They actually said he will try to be there, but sometimes they get delayed... What company does this after they have completely missed the first appointment? I hope this company nothing but the worst because they apparently did not care enough to fix the mistake they made.
