ABERDEEN, MARYLAND -- I purchased what I was told was a Mink coat from the Goodwill super store in Aberdeen, Maryland. I entered into a silent auction for a mink coat that was old and needs repairs. I was told by a Goodwill salesperson that the coat could be repaired. I took the coat to Kent Fisher, a Furrier in Towson, Md. The President, Carl Fisher, informed me that the coat IS NOT Mink but Muskrat that it is dry-rotted and cannot be repaired. He stated that the coat value is "zero, worthless."

I took to coat back to Goodwill that same day and was told by the on duty supervisor, Melissa, that she was not authorized to give a refund that I had to come back when Ms. ** was on duty, I returned and was told by Ms. ** that she was not authorized to give a refund that I had to contact another supervisor who is currently on vacation for a week. I have spent time and money trying to obtain a refund to no avail. I have given to the Goodwill for many years and feel that they are a good company that provides a much needed service to the community. However, I am very disappointed that this has happened to me and I would like for this information to be known to the public.

Prices rising on used products...

SPANAWAY, WASHINGTON -- I am very unsatisfied with the prices rising at the Goodwill stores. It helped me to shop where I could find the lowest prices for my family. I have noticed recently they are rising the prices on a lot of used donated items. A lot of items I have seen should not even be on the shelf and certainly not for the price they ask. Some clothes for example are very worn and or have tears in them. The prices of books have also risen quite a bit higher.

The quality of items and the prices that have risen will keep me from shopping at the goodwill stores. I understand donating items to goodwill stores are to help disabled people and in return the people who shop in this store should see a quality product even at a used condition.
