I have never used H&R Block after they nailed me to the cross. They charged me $238.00. Then I took it to a tax lady and she re-figured it and guess what, they didn't do it right. You are saying "no, can't be". Well, I took my tax papers, signed a blank tax form, sent it to the IRS, and 6 weeks later got my tax return filled out. And I signed them and sent them back and the IRS and my tax lady was the same... End of that story... Do your own taxes or have the IRS help you...

LOS ANGELES, CONNECTICUT -- I got approved for a $1000 dollar loan, out of that you pay a service charge plus the first installment. I got the Scam Card in Dec 20, 2011. I didn't try to use it until 2/22/2012 when I was notified that the card is no longer valid that I was supposed to had used it before Feb 15, I'm like WTF!!! I was never told that!!! Now when I do my taxes I owe H&R Block $115 when I do my taxes. I paid $115 for a 3 month loan for the money I never used!!

Got my taxes done by HR Block. They said "Get the emerald card. It is fast on refunds." Now got my card and taxes back but first card did not have my name. Called same day to close card, they OK, send out new one but took too long to close the card. Someone took 1200 off it. Now still trying to get it back.

I have been doing my taxes with H&R Block for many years. Now that I itemize, forget it. I got a bill from the IRS recently for 12K. My tax preparer that year had put gains and losses in the wrong columns. The 2008 preparer omitted one important item all together. I 'only' owed $1200. Still waiting for the letter about the penalty and interest. H&R Block says they will pay that... This carelessness is inexcusable. I understand they're notorious for these kinds of mistakes. It's hard to believe that no one goes after them.

BELLMEAD, TEXAS -- We decided to try the new H&R in Bellmead, TX. To cut to the chase, the lady filing our taxes said to my boyfriend, very loud, "...but, he's not your real son right?" I had to walk outside, I was so angry. My boyfriend told the H&R Block employee that we did not want H&R to file our taxes and left.

LANCASTER, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I just want to let the public know that THE EMERALD GREEN CARD that H&R Block is offering for a fast refund is a total ripoff. You are charged for every time you use the card and you are charged every time you call them to question their mistakes. I made a very costly mistake by going with this service, and I urge everyone to do anything you can to avoid this service. You will be very sorry if you use it.

QUINCY, ILLINOIS -- I have had nothing but problems this year. I also have used HR Block for 26 yrs. This year will be the last!! No real answers, bogus phone numbers! They always say "it's the bank, not us." I think they also own the bank. Beware - it's better to mail it.

INDY, INDIANA -- I paid to have my tax return put on one of their card in 1-2 days... Then after its not I call them and they say sorry denied it will be in 2 weeks!!! RIP OFF!!!

For a fee, they will advance you the amount equal to your tax refund, minus a fee for this service. You, in turn, will then pay them for this service when you receive your refund. Read the fine print. The cost for this service can be up to 100 or even 150%! [About the same interest rate as those "Payday Loan" businesses]. This loan is normally contracted through a loan company and not the tax service itself.
