Manager did not follow through with promise
By -

PADUCAH, KENTUCKY -- My husband and I were travelling and stopped in Paducah, KY. We stopped at Red Lobster for dinner and the server substituted grilled shrimp for fried shrimp and then overcharged us by $12 for the substitution. I called the Red Lobster in Paducah, KY and spoke with a manager and he was very nice and promised me he would send me a gift card to make up the difference for the overcharge. We stopped there on 11/23/2010 and our bill came to over $50 and we left a good tip but the overcharge was just not right. He promised to mail me a gift card to make up for the overcharge and it just never happened.

We do eat at Red Lobster here quite often and always enjoy our meal but the service that night was so wrong. I gave the manager my name and address and he promised he would send me a gift card right away. To this day, we have not received it. It was just a big farce in my opinion and I am not sure that he ever even intended to send the gift card. My name is Sara **. I also left my phone number with the manager. It's just poor service and we are very disappointed.

Our bill came to $57.71 and I had faith that the manager would follow through but it's been over a month now and no Gift Certificate. Thank you for listening and for your help in this matter. Red Lobster needs to provide more Quality Control for disappointed customers and I feel that we should still get our GC. Thank you.

Endless Shrimp? Not at This Place.
By -

WEST VIRGINIA -- My family and I look forward to the Endless Shrimp promotion every year at Red Lobster in Parkersburg, WV. We usually try to go several times during this promotion. This year was no different. The first two times we went were okay. However, we noticed a decrease in quality on the third and fourth visits. We noticed scanty portions on salad (I could see more plate than salad).

When our selections of shrimp came they were really good but we noticed a decrease in quality after the first servings. The garlic butter sauce from the shrimp scampi was just not as good. Very watery. The wait time for each order was anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes. My husband was furious but determined that they bring out his last two orders even though we waited over 45 minutes for them. He kept asking the waitress where was his order. She claimed that there were just a lot of people who ordered the endless shrimp and we all had to wait our turn. Later she claimed she would get in trouble if she asked the kitchen staff about it again.

We saw others get their orders within ten minutes. The only thing endless at this place was the excuses. Maybe they have an internal secret limit as to how many orders you can place and if that's the case then they need to rename this promotion. Endless should mean UNLIMITED, that was why we chose to go there in the first place. We absolutely LOVED going here but I don't know if we will ever go back at this point.

Worms in the Shells
By -

CORAL SPRINGS, FLORIDA -- Good afternoon. I am a regular customer at Red Lobster in Coral Spings, Florida. Once I went I saw a roach crawling on the wall next to me, inform the server. She was afraid of the roach, she went to call her manager, who catches the roach and killed it. He also apologize.

I didn't let that stop me from going there, but I went on Friday 9/17/10. I ordered ultimate feast for the first time, because I always order the rock lobster tail, but my friend I went with said I should try the ultimate feast which I did. When I receive it there were organism, little worms in shell on two of the crab leg. I showed it to the waiter, he said, that won't harm me, they are just organism from the bottom of the ocean, so I said I will not eat it and I do not want the meal.

He notify the manager which said that should have never been on there, and he apologize. He said If I would like something else I could order and he will take it off the bill, but the only thing he took off was the ultimate feast, he didn't take off the other food I ordered. This was a very scary situation. I even took pictures of it.

Wonderful Sunday Lunch!
By -

CARY, NORTH CAROLINA -- We had a wonderful Sunday lunch at the Red Lobster in Cary, NC today. We were greeted with smiles by the hostess, did not have to wait before being seated and the waitress came very quickly to get our drink requests. She was very efficient yet patient because we had some special requests, which were no problem to her. The food was piping hot and very delicious.

This came as no surprise because this Red Lobster has always been a great place to eat. I might add that every table was full, yet no waiting line. All the wait and staff were very cheerful and helpful. The only downside to the whole meal was the salt and pepper shakers. They are the twist kind and you have to have muscles like Arnold S. to get them to work. Other than that, a wonderful experience.

Ultimate feast and salad

BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT -- I went to the Red Lobster on 4485 Main St Bridgeport, Ct. First of all there was nobody at the door to greet me and my party. I had to go look for someone to seat us. The salad was not fresh at all. It was pre-made and soggy. The bowls were freezing cold as well as the salad itself. The snow crab legs were dried out and stringy. The lobster tail was also dried out. I was very disappointed. I haven't been to Red Lobster in a very long time and I will never go back. It was money wasted.

Complaint
By -

HOMESTEAD, FLORIDA -- Went to Red Lobster May 23, 2010, ordered Shrimp Caesar Salad with extra Lobster and was brought a small dinner salad, had the waitress return it to the kitchen and when she returned it was put in a larger plate with almost the same small amount of Romaine Lettuce. I called the Manager over to complain and he wasn't very comparative, all he did was not charge me for the extra Lobster. I explained to him there wasn't hardly anything there and that the Romaine Lettuce was the hard white center and not much of it. Also, I received only 2 dinner rolls for two people which is ridiculous.

Bad experience

We went out to a Red Lobster in Orlando as I had never been to one before. We were with a person who grew up in Nova Scotia and knows lobsters. First they brought the lobster with most of the insides missing which in Canada they keep them (female lobster) which are good to eat. Nicely complained so they did bring another but hadn't steamed it long enough. Sent it back so finally it did come done right.

Next the coffee came and it was lukewarm. Just asked them if they can top it up but that was lukewarm as well. Not impressed as the bill was not cheap and not worth the price, time and general aggravation. Their commercials always looked good but now I would never go back to a Red Lobster again as there are so many other fine fish restaurants out there.

Bad seafood

CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA -- My neighbor and I ate at the Red Lobster at Concord Blvd, Concord, NC on Easter Sunday. She ordered tilapia smothered with lobster meat while I had grilled lobster tails, shrimp scampi and crab legs. Her fish was not fresh and she did not eat it. I ate my meal and when I reached home I was sick as a dog. I suffered food poisoning.

I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager. His response was several people had eaten that day and nobody got sick and normally food poisoning occur 8-10 hours after you have eaten so he cannot refund my money but will have Liberty Insurance contact me. I think this is poor service because I have eaten at Red Lobster restaurants for years now and am very disappointed.

Conduct of Hostesses
By -

PARMA, OHIO -- I just wanted to comment on my visit to Red Lobster in Parma Ohio on 1/9/10 around 8pm. The restaurant was very busy with a 25 minute wait. Not ideal; but, no problem. It was very cold out in the lobby due to the weather. My family and I moved to stand at the wall behind the Hostess podium. All I heard the entire 10-15 minutes we were standing there was how upset this Hostess was that she did not get cut to go home early, all the things she needed to do when she left work and her comment about how others are standing around doing nothing and she has things to do.

I think this is totally unprofessional not to mention there are multiple hostesses standing around the table assignment clipboard. I'm sure that the staffing was adequate and everyone had their role; but, I was disappointed in the professionalism. I had a very good server. Good dining experience. When we were leaving, again there were about 3 or 4 hostesses standing around the Hostess station. Not one said "have a good evening, come back again."

I had just come back because my daughter wanted to come. The previous dining experience was horrible. The food was not good at all to the point I didn't want to pay for it. The waitress tried to make it right, had my food prepared again. I had vowed I wasn't coming back ever. It used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Hopefully your hostesses can get some additional training in conduct in the waiting area. I'm a professional. I know we get frustrated; but, we have to learn to make sure it cannot be heard by the customer. Thanks.. I hope this helps.

Red Lobster Advertises on Hate - Mongering Fox News.
By -

I learned today that Red Lobster is advertising on Fox News. Given the hateful rhetoric, blatant lies, and undemocratic tactics of Fox News's talk show hosts and the editorializing of its news reporters and anchors, I cannot in good conscience support any establishment that feels it is fine to contribute money to such morally repugnant practices.

Until Red Lobster stops being a Fox News advertiser, I will not eat at its restaurants, and will encourage my friends to do the same. I urge readers to also send similar protests to Red Lobster management. Americans who value fairness and truth in reporting know that Fox News - unlike most other media outlets - does not primarily report news, but rather "reports" opinions that masquerade as "news."
