SAGINAW, MICHIGAN -- I am writing about my stay in '08. Check out room before you give info and credit card. We had a downstairs room. It smelt moldy. Gave my son a bath. There was hair floating up out of the drain. Flat pillows smelly hallways. We paid around 60/70 off season as well October. Also night desk person a lady was rude. When we called the 800 to book they said we'd have a fridge. So we bought a couple frozen drinks. We didn't get a room with one.

We called down to find our phone Not working so hubby walked to the desk and asked. He said she was rude to him as well. Oh well! Hope things shaped up since then. Wish I would have known about this site I could have warn we others sooner.

Avoid This Hotel!

ETTERS, PENNSYLVANIA -- AVOID THIS HOTEL!!! The toilet in the room did not work 5 minutes into my stay. This led to a sequence of events in which they put 3 teenagers- who weren't even registered, but were just waiting in the room until I got back from an appointment- on the curb. They called me "dishonest" and referred to me as "that sort of person." The manager refused to refund the payment, never contacted me directly about anything, and accused me of breaking the toilet (I won't go into the details, but that's **).

Funny enough, I went to a Motel 6 later that night and the toilet worked fine, the room was fine, and they were very nice. This place has no concern for its customers. There are decent Super 8s down and up I-83 and I-81. Go there and let this place rot.

Beware Bedbugs
By -

SHEPHERDSVILLE, KENTUCKY -- When we first got into our room I checked the beds the mattress and the box spring are zipped up in plastic. We found some kind of bug crawling on our bed and it didn't look like a bedbug but found out later it was. Then I lying on the bed and saw another bedbug crawling on the wall next to my bed. We kept finding chiggers on our pillows too. Me and my son have bites on us from the bedbugs.

When I found the one crawling on the wall I scooped it into a cup and we went and showed the manager and told him we wanted one-night stay money returned to us. He said no and that it wasn't a bedbug but it was, I have confirmation on that. He took the bedbug and threw it back in the same room on the floor. The room we stayed in was 205. Beware he don't care if you get them. Don't go there unless you want to get them. The breakfast is awful too. And the manager is very rude.

Bad Business

LITCHFIELD, ILLINOIS -- I know someone who used to work at the Super 8 in Litchfield, Illinois. This hotel is a dump! They do not give reward points to anyone that has a membership card b/c the company is a charged 5% fee on all points used. They put it in as a group rate so the customer does not get their points.

They also charge a safe fee, but they make the employees lie to the customers about it. If a guest makes their reservation through the internet for 2 or more people for a certain price. The owner/manager lies or makes the employees lie and say they only made the reservation for less people than what the guest did so they can charge the guest extra for (extra people). What a rip off. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! The people that run this place are very dishonest.

Super Service at Super 8 Motel in Creswell Oregon

CRESWELL, OREGON -- I am a trucker who has stayed at the Super 8 Motel in Creswell, Oregon on a regular basis. I originally had written a coarse review of the Super 8 in Creswell due to the noise factor. Let me explain. The reason for the noise was due to MY choosing of a room and the locations I chose were not the best ones for resting during the day. I have to rest during the day because of a 10 hour layover I have in Creswell. The rooms "I" chose were next to the pool (during the peak summer days kids like to have fun in the pool. I also chose rooms next to the Jacuzzi. Also, not a good idea for daytime resting.

For the last 6 months I have been staying in a room chosen by the staff. Very very quiet for daytime resting. All the rooms are equipped with microwaves, refrigerators, and exceptionally clean rooms. The staff at the Super 8 in Creswell are courteous beyond reproach. That are extremely eager to please their guest and have also allowed me to change rooms during the middle of my stay. I'm a little embarrassed at my previous comments and I must say that my reaction to picking a room next to the pool or Jacuzzi was of my own doing. I wish to thank the staff for understanding my emotional outbreak and am looking forward to more restful stays at their Motel.

Change room require extra negotiable charge depends manager's mood or race???

ATHENS, OHIO -- After checked in, I found out the assigned room was a heavy smoke room which resulting from my careless in web reservation. Manager said if I paid extra $15 I could move to a non-smoking room. I was hesitant. He continued, "$10 dollars will do it." I refused. I checked the website, smoking and non-smoking rooms are the same price. But manager does not want to honor it and the reasons are ?. Toll free support said they cannot help in resolving this situation.

My cc was charged while checking in and thus, will not be able to get a refund if I checked out. The next day I found out the morning clerk (might be a F1 student?) can switch for free. But after I raised the manager's objection the previous night. He called manager and everything was freeze again.

Well, not quite know the problems were, bad mood, greedy, racial issue, and... who knows. One bad franchisee and an unmotivated corporate customer service department should prevent me from lodging on all Super 8's. This is my advice. DON'T for any reasons.

Racism
By -

IRVING, TEXAS -- Super 8 Motel in Irving, TX is in the business of hiring racists. They have a night auditor/van driver named Matt. What a piece of work he runs people off the road. Not to mention yells at them using racial slurs and threatens their life. I have tried numerous times to contact the Manager of this location with no help from the employees there. If this is the type of behavior that goes on in these stores then no matter what their prices are I will never spend a night at one of these places. I recommend that you do not either.

COLDWATER, MICHIGAN -- Very rude and dirty. Manager has all kinds of people living here and them guys/kids bombards the meal time. Never any food or coffee left. All kinds of dogs and the manager said he was going to charge everyone 10.00 a night for pets. Like I said people hanging around out front all the time. Thank you for your time but I'll never stay here again and a lot of people said the same thing. Good day.

PHOENIX, ARKANSAS -- A non smoking room that about knocked me over with its smoking smell. Chair fabric had burned holes in it. Carpet was torn. Bathtub was in such poor repair it had holes they had tried to repair or something. I stayed 2 nights and second night there was no water pressure for the shower. I have stayed here before with no problems but this has been the worst stay anywhere ever.
