Crappy 24-Hour Fitness 131st Vancouver Membership Policy
By -

VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON -- READ THIS: If you're serious about purchasing a 24-hour fitness membership, be sure to wait until you get an ALL CLUB, including super sport, membership. I paid over $800 initially to get a $7 a month all club Except Super Sport membership. A new club, Vancouver, WA 131st Ave - Super Sport is opening less than two miles from my home, but I won't be "grandfathered" in because I didn't get the "super sport" membership or I haven't spent more than 51% of my time at the old Active club in the last six months.

The old club hardly had any classes and no pool or sauna so of course I went to other clubs. There was no advance warning of this "policy" - the manager said they didn't even know it was going to be a "super sport" club until a couple of months ago and they didn't come up with this "grandfather" policy until a month ago.

Tip: Wait until late summer to join as there are more membership discounts - usually August is the best time. I understand Bally also has really cheap monthly rates if you pay a lot upfront - a friend now pays only $5 a month there and has all club access.

Isn't it funny that on all the 24-hour fitness complaint pages there are Numerous Ads for 24-Hour Fitness Memberships? Ha!

Rude 24 Hour Fitness Finance Department Employees
By -

CALIFORNIA -- My MC was stolen and it is tied to my 24 Hour Fitness account. I received phone calls from 24 Hour Fitness asking me to update my account. But after updating my info, 24 Hour Fitness were still calling me 6 times a day as early as 8 am on weekends. I finally called them back and it took me 3 times to call them back reminding them that my profile has been updated and to remove my phone number from their call list.

It was difficult reaching them since their number results in a hang up, busy signal or just dead silence. One agent answered my call by saying, "HELLO?" I asked if this was 24 hr. fitness and she nonchalantly said, "YEAH?" I asked the agent if this is how she answers the phone for this company and took a deep breath upon saying the typical 24 hr. fitness tag line. I asked for the supervisor and supervisor (**) was blatantly rude to me as if I were creating a nuisance for them as I mentioned my concerns. I asked for his manager and denied his managers whereabouts and would not provide me any info to where and how I can escalate my complaint.

I've researched several complaints regarding 24 Hour Fitness employees. 24 Hour Fitness is tolerating rude, unprofessional and incompetent people to work in their company. They will lose a lot of regular customers like me in the near future if readers like yourselves would take time and spread the word as well. I am very disappointed with their service and unwillingness to help me.

Finger Scanning Easy and Efficient
By -

COLORADO -- The finger scanning process at 24 Hour Fitness is just to speed up the process and keep members from having to carry around their ID card. It's only to help the members with a more efficient way to check in. It's not a conspiracy against people and they already have all of your personal information if you are a member so the finger scan isn't really any different.

Free annual membership not honored
By -

LARKSPUR, CALIFORNIA -- I "won" a gift of an annual membership when I was at a sports game. 24 Hour Fitness had us fill out the necessary paperwork indicating they were going to honor the free gift, but then started charging us immediately. We've tried twice by phone to make the adjustment with no success and now need to go there in person to get it settled.

24 Hour Fitness complaint

I have been a member of 24 Hour Fitness since the early 90's. They failed to notify me when my son's membership expired. They want me to pay all new fees and will not return phone calls. See you in court.

They Suck With The Customer Service
By -

WEBSTER, TEXAS -- I had put my account on HOLD on 16th March but still got charged for the monthly fee on 25th March. WHY? because it was not within 10 Business days. The time they need to put a hold on your account is STUPID 10 days. They suck and just want to take that extra money. I think they should have refunded my money after as I think they had enough time to put my account on HOLD. THEY SUCK. BIG TIME.
