CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- On 4/27/2009 purchased 15 table top was invoiced for $2,566.44 which included freight change of 2446.94. When product finally arrived end of September the tables were damage and return and noted on the bill of lading in accordance with invoice direction. Because of the duration of getting product and the coninous emails and telephone calls I decided to purchase tables from another internet vendor, and glad I did. What Affordable seating did was charge me for return shipment and restocking fee. This was reported to BBB and Affordable seating did not respond. I'm now going to tell the world this company say one thing and does what they want. I will never do business with them again and hopefully this will be read and help someone else to choice anyone other then Affordable seating.

I'm confused. How much were the tables?

It's better to know what the charges will be before returning something. That would be the time to argue/negotiate. It's more difficult after the fact.

I'm confused - the total was $2566.44, with a shipping charge of $2446.94? So the table was about $100, but shipping was $2400?? I'm very confused.

I had ordered from Affordable Seating mutliple times and never had any problem. Your review is very fishy - The shipping on a $2,500 order cannot be $2,400?

I ordered my furniture from Affordable Seating and I have to say that after 3 days they called me to let me know there was a problem with some of the items on my order and that I could either wait for them longer, get a refund or order something else and get a discount on the new items.

The support manager I spoke to was very helpful and sincerely apologized for the problem. In the end I decided to replace the items with new ones and keep my order.

You know what, I could have thought they were ripping me off and at first I was a little suspicious but I felt that they really wanted to make up for the mistake and help me out. They could have easily just told me that the order was canceled or that I have to wait longer but they didn't.

So despite the rocky start, I am happy with my decision to keep the order and was impressed with their customer support.

I had a similar experience to Brian's only mine was before I ordered. I wanted a specific model but was told it would take longer to make and they offered me a few similar models at a lower price and shorter waiting time.

I don't know what this company was like 3 years ago but I've had a nice experience dealing with them and I can't complain about either the people there or the furniture they sell.

I ordered 24 tables that came with the wrong color. The bottom of the tables is made of particle board and many of them have broken when a heavy person seats on them. I bought booths that were manufactured about 4 inches too high which leaves too little space between the thigh and the bottom of the tables, which they also sold. 6 of the tables came without levelers, which they eventually sent twice, the wrong size of screw. I'm still using the tables without levelers, which is damaging the floor tiles.
Emails were never answered, except the ones demanding payment.
I regret doing business with Affordable Seating. $8500.00 down the toilet.

ordered pub tables and bar stools for my business in Odessa Fl.,on the 09/24/12-they told me that would be 2-3 week delivery-carrire called me on the 11th of Oct-furniture was in Tampa and being delivered on the 12th-no problems with the bar stools or tables and mahogany seats all was well and I e-mailed them and thanked them and I will cetainly use them again for my new business

we had a horrible experience as well. Exact same thing... we sent booths back with pictures.. these posters blaming consumer are a bit fishy to me.. and btw... they no longer have any bbb rating...hmmm

Good Quality Restaurant Furniture

I'm opened a bar and grill and Affordable Seating was recommended to me by a friend who is also in the restaurant business. I usually don't like ordering such big items from the internet, but I could see that the chairs he bought from them were high quality, so I took a chance. I was not disappointed. The bar stools I ordered are well-made and I saved a bundle!

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- It took me three weeks to get furniture I ordered from Affordable Seating that was supposed to take 7-14 days to arrive, but I guess when accounting for business days it wasn't too far behind. The prices were good on sale items which actually were available in a lot of options. No need to custom make stuff that nobody notices anyway. This is good, solid, functional furniture. I saved $10 per chair by going with the sale version.

Slow Shipping Time, but Worth the Wait

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- Although this firm over promised and under delivered as far as delivery times were concerned, the end result merits high marks. For what we paid, the furniture was just gorgeous and it all came in really good shape, with the chairs assembled and ready to go.

I was impressed by their selection on the website, and the quality of the chairs compared to what we've ordered in the past is strikingly better. The delivery delay was inexcusable, but I would rather get high quality goods late, than junk the day after I order it.

My lesson learned from this experience: make sure to order items with plenty of time to spare as shipping might be delayed for some reason or another.

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- WARNING!!! THIS COMPANY WILL PUT YOU OUT OF BUSINESS! They have had our order since July, it is now October. $26,000.00 in furniture. I too have been lied to about when my order was actually going to ship. Keeps moving up by a week and has since August 24. I can't open my business and they are very close to putting me out of business due to their exceptionally poor business practices. I would tell everyone NOT to use this company, they will not deliver. The worst vendor I have ever dealt with in my life and I have been working with vendors for 30 years. I have been lied too, hung up on, been treated very rudely and still have no idea if I am ever going to get my furniture. I too have emails with their lies and intend to file legal action. I know I am not the first. I have three more restaurants to build and they will get none of my business.

Affordable Seating -- BUYER BEWARE

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- We placed an initial "quick ship" order that took a month for them to ship. Decent product at a decent price. They assured us it was a 1 time deal only to find complaint after complaint on the internet.

We placed a second order, again quick ship with the same results|. Only this time they entered the wrong product". We received a confirmation from the web site of the order that was correct|. Apparently their web site does not plug directly into their own system and the order has to be re-entered/. They entered a similar, but different product (that did not match our first order).. Then they blamed us for the error even though we had a confirmation page and refused to refund anything or replace any item?.

Then their "customer service" got involved!. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. If you get Issac L as your representative escalate immediately unless you like dealing with gross incompetence (I understand why he will not give out his last name).

Do Not Order From Affordable Seating

Horrible Company. Company and its employees take no responsibility for its lack of communication and the fundamental problems within it. They will say whatever they can to get you off the phone when you have a complaint. Items do not ship in a timely manner, or at all, and they keep putting customers off. Good Luck trying to get your money back.

Promised, didn't deliver. Sent the wrong furniture, charged me for shipping both directions. I opened my restaurant with school furniture as a result. Affordable seating cost me over $800 and the reputation of my restaurant. Do not use them!

The other review is spot on.

Affordable Seating SUCKS !

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- I ordered based on them telling me they had everything in stock and paid up front allowing 21 days for shipping. Every several days they would call saying they didn't have certain things and want a revised invoice. I told them from the beginning that we opened on August 19Th and we could not keep delaying. They lied and jerked me around until six days before I opened. I told them to keep their furniture and give me a credit back on my card and amazingly they had all the furniture and was shipping my order. I told them not to ship it, that I had ordered everything from a reputable company. Now they won't issue me a credit and I'm disputing it with the credit card company. You will regret doing business with this place. This has, hands down, been the worst experience I've ever had with a company. I usually don't post reviews but I felt this one was a must. Affordable Seating SUCKS !

What happened to me?

1. I placed my order and after 20 days, no one provides me anything about the status of my order.
2. I called to check on my order and they then said they have no items in stock. I have to change to something else or wait another month or two. I was running out of time so I had to go with what they have.
3. When the chairs were sent, the company sent a different model and then claimed it was an "upgrade" -- nothing like the chair I wanted. I found out when the order arrived one week later.
4. I chatted with customer service department and they did not care at all what the facts were. I tried to ask for replacement with offer to pay extra shipping on my part but they didn't care.
They had no interest in taking back the chairs I did not want, which they shipped as a "substitution" without informing or asking me if it was okay.
5. They tried to sell more item and tell me that they can do nothing with the wrong item I've got. Basically saying they refused to take any return.

Thing to learn!!!

1. They are a few dollars cheaper but if they always ship the wrong item, it won't be of any use for your project. The product is poorly made from China.
2. They don't give you any information -- dragging out your deadline, which makes it very hard to cancel and order from elsewhere.
3. If you have a lot of free time - try them :)

I'm sorry if your experience was bad but based on my dealings with them I can't relate to your story. I actually found my experience to be a good one.
As for the products - they are cheap, probably made in China, like everything else today, but they aren't poorly made.
The items I received were of good quality and the one item that was damaged during shipping I had replaced once I talked to the customer support and sent them the info they needed.
