Ashley Furniture Is A Joke - Really Bad Furniture

COLTON, CALIFORNIA -- I purchased a new living room set and it is the worst quality I have ever seen. The sofa recliner was broke. I had a tech come out and the tech told me that it happens all time. I also spoke to him about the tables I purchased. They were not cheap and he said they're all always flaws in them. Wow, I was shocked. My coffee table which I spent many hundred dollars for is not defective. I was told it was wood however it was not as the bottom piece is now coming apart and you can tell it something just glued on.

Four Months to Deliver Chairs???

WOODRIDGE, ILLINOIS -- I ordered a living room set from Ashley furniture (a couch, an ottoman and two accent chairs). I purchased the furniture in February of 2012. The couch was delivered two weeks later. The ottoman was delivered four weeks from the date of purchase. The two accent chairs were not delivered until four full months after the date of purchase. How is this even possible? Is there anything in the world that still takes four months to produce and deliver? Of course, I was told it would take one month for the delivery to be made.

Oops, I guess they were a little off on their estimate. Am I the first person to have ever ordered these chairs? Is this the first time the chairs had to be delivered to a house in the Chicago area? How can a company stay in business if they do not know their production and delivery schedule? Really, what type of business are they running? This is horrendous customer service!

2 months to get order and still wrong

HOUSTON, TEXAS -- Ordered a living room set on March 1 and given a due date of 4/3 when my order would be available for pickup at warehouse. I never once received a phone call that my order was ready or the status of the order; in fact I called several times to warehouse and customer service between 4/3 and 4/20. Each time I was told different items were ready or not ready; things that had previously been ready were no longer ready. I was finally told on 4/23 when I called that all of my order was ready for pickup, so much for the "Same Day Delivery" that billboards claim.

I made arrangements for someone to pick up at warehouse and they signed the delivery ticket with all the correct information about my order. The warehouse then loaded "my order." Once I received them I noticed the loveseat was incorrect. I called this morning and the best they can do is 1/2 the delivery cost or go trade it in at the whse.

Now I understand that I did not physically unwrap and remove the box for the couches but considering the paperwork is correct and they're about to be loaded onto a truck and delivered that just isn't logical. If the customer is supposed to check items they should not be wrapped until after the customer has reviewed them. It seems like if all it took was a free delivery to bring a customer the correct order that was 2 months old it would be no problem!

I want my money back!

TEXAS -- We ordered a living-room suite from a catalog in the Midland, TX store and paid with a check. The check cleared before the furniture arrived. When we realized they had sent the wrong suite, we didn't let them leave the furniture. We ask them to reordered the correct suite. When they informed us the furniture was to be delivered the next day, we gave our old furniture away. We were left with nothing in our living room and the furniture never arrived. We ask Ashley's to cancel our order and return our money as we were expecting company and had no place to seat them.

The original order was placed on January 30, 2012 and we have called at least once a week and have not gotten any returned calls. We have asked to speak to the legal office and the finance office and were told they would contact us the following day, which has never happened. It is obvious we have been given the run-around which you have perfected. Our only recourse is to contact an attorney and file theft charged if our money isn't received by April 6, 2012.

Extremely Mad

I was all excited to own an Ashley set. Well this quickly turned to extreme disappointment and a feeling of injustice. I purchased an Ashley sectional for over fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) hard earned money in these times from Mi Casa furniture store in Trinidad and Tobago. After reaching home and opening the set I noticed a small nick on one of the chairs. I brought it to the attention of my husband who said it's nothing.

However as time went by it started to peel and now it's peeling all over. Also the other chair started to peel as well after paying so much Mi Casa is telling me they will put some glue to hold it and they will try to contact Ashley furniture store. I need to have this resolved. I need a replacement after paying so much money for this set. Please let Ashley Furniture factory know this. I thank you for your attention and I AWAIT a response. EXTREMELY MAD AND DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER.

Nice people, frustrating process

The associates at the store and on the phone were very helpful and friendly. We needed help choosing our furniture so we didn't find them annoying at all. And our salesman was very knowledgeable. He stayed within our budget and made sure he understood what we were looking for before recommending products. We got a lot of great discounts and were quite satisfied with the experience in the store. Getting our furniture has been a bit frustrating but having worked in sales and special order products before, I can understand.

Ashley only manufactures product as they need it in order to keep inventory and costs low. This means that anything not in stock at the store will take 4-6 weeks which we were told up front at the store. Our delivery was set for May 21 and on the 19th, we got a call that part of our order would not be available until the 24th. Since this is a weekday, we could not be home and we are going out of town the next weekend. The customer service representative was very helpful and set up delivery for our couch and ottoman as originally set up, and the recliner later.

Will Never Purchase Ashley Again

My family purchased an Ashley Furniture leather living room set (couch, loveseat, and recliner) 18 months ago. Very pretty, love the style but very poorly made. The quality is far less than average. Although we did sit on the pieces in the store and they were comfortable, ours seemed squeaky and flimsy almost from the start. I've been noticing the past several months that it's increasingly uncomfortable and almost seemed like it was "breaking down." Today we turned the couch upside down and took the bottom cover loose, and the entire frame had broken apart.

All the wood on the interior looked very thin and cheap, and it was assembled with very thin brads/nails. I'm greatly disappointed. We were able to fix the couch using some wood we had in the garage. We pushed pieces back where they belonged and reinforced/secured them with our own lumber. It now looks and feels great, and I feel that with the extra support we added, it actually BETTER than new. That was a piece of crap furniture originally. The love seat is not far behind in needing repairs. It's a bad situation for furniture that is only 18 months old. I will NEVER purchase Ashley furniture again.

Amherst Store is the Place to shop!

AMHERST, NEW YORK -- We found our dream family room set at the Ashley Furniture store in Amherst New York. Then we read the online reviews. After sitting and having a LONG talk with Shawn ** (sorry if I spelled it wrong), our salesman, we decided to take the plunge. And we are THRILLED that we did. The furniture was delivered on time! Almost down to the minute. The delivery men, Zach and Austin were incredible, they even lifted a 94-inch sofa over the railing on my front porch (6 feet off the ground) to get the sofa in without damaging ANYTHING! I would shop at Ashley again, and I'd ask for Shawn!

Complaint

JUNK - JUNK - JUNK! I bought one of their 7 piece living rooms for $1,000 (actually $1,250 total) and the sofa and loveseat were supposed to be green, they are gray - a terrible shade of gray. And the "sofa" is not a full sized sofa, it is much, much smaller than the one in the showroom, by as much as 10 inches. I measured. I did not return it because I waited over 3 months to get it and their customer service is not there to take your calls. I wish I never purchased from Ashley. I never, ever will again. You get what you pay for at Ashley's - Junk.

Leather? Ha
By -

I purchased a "leather" living room set in 2007. Within a week the love seat started to tear on the front of the seat. The company told me to go back to the store. The store said that they wouldn't replace it because we ripped it by moving it. Not true! And more little tears around the main one continue to spread with normal use. Within a year the leather layer started coming off the chair, it looks like paint peeling off. I can't even clean it, it just peels more. It looks terrible. I will never buy anything from Ashley's again and I hope that those who read this will think twice before buying from them.
