SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI -- Ashley Home Store no longer accepts credit cards over the phone. The items I wanted were discontinued but I was told they were in the store and to call in the morning before driving the hour to the store. Well, after being on hold forever and managers scurrying around, they said the items I wanted had been sold within the four hours between closing and when they opened in the morning. I think their system of staying on top of their merchandise, not holding anything for anyone, and requiring long drives to personally present a card while the item the customer wants may be sold while they are driving up there, stinks!

EAU CLAIRE, WISCONSIN -- I ordered a sectional at the Eau Claire store on July 25th and had a delivery date set to Wednesday, Aug. 8. I received a call on Sunday, Aug. 5th that I would not receive my sectional which I was a bit upset because Tony actually wanted to schedule us Aug. 3rd making it seem like we would receive our sectional quick. But my boyfriend and I both work weekends that is why we chose Aug. 8. We rescheduled to Wed. Aug. 22nd because the only dates available were Sat., 18th and Wed., 22nd. Again, my boyfriend and I work weekends. On Saturday 18th, my boyfriend received a confirmation text. And Monday, 20th I received a confirmation text. Today I received a call that I will not be receiving all my parts for my sectional tomorrow, some will be delivered but the rest will have to be rescheduled for another date. The customer service is fine but the delivery service is horrible. There are very few delivery dates available and it will be a month for me to receive my sectional. I do not understand the reason for having to pay delivery fees if my item is not going to be delivered on time and having to reschedule multiple times. I also talked to my coworker about Ashley and she mentioned that the same experience happened to her because someone delayed her couch. Compared to a competitor I bought furniture from, my dining set came in one week and my mattress was delayed but only took two weeks and I did not have to pay for delivery.

ALGONQUIN, ILLINOIS -- Bought a bedroom set and set up delivery. The first attempt at delivery left me waiting five hours for a no show on Ashley's behalf. They said they went to the wrong town but had the house number and street correct, just the wrong city. Rescheduled and waited for delivery attempt number two and they once again delivery the furniture to the wrong city but the correct street and house number. Working with them to reschedule and try a third time. No clue how long it'll be until I have a bed to sleep on.

On top of all of this management at the store says sorry, but does nothing to speed up delivery. You'd think after they mess up they would overnight the delivery or bump someone to the top of the list for delivery. None of this happened you just get recycled back into the list every time they screw up and if you complain they just get rude with you cause it wasn't their fault personally, someone else in the company screwed up or it's the computer's fault.

SPARTANBURG, SOUTH CAROLINA -- Walked in store with great intentions on purchasing furniture. However no one greeted me or said goodbye when I left. Walked around at least 15 minutes and not one hello from anyone. One person sweeping floor and another sitting at computer while one was assisting a customer. I've shopped at this store in the past but it's been a few years and have always been my favorite store but never will I set foot in this store again. I just left another store that greeted me and called me by my name personally the entire time I was there. Great customer service with Mattress Max but not Ashley's.

Liars and Horrendous Customer Service

FRANKLIN, TENNESSEE -- Ordered dining set with 8 chairs & a bed. Given date items would arrive at warehouse, where I was to pick everything up (2.5 hour drive away from me). Told salesman we would be picking up a month after due date since it was far away & we wanted to combine trip with other events.

Date arrived & table was not available, only 6 of 8 chairs were in. Bed had arrived. Told table would be in a month later but 2 chairs would be at least a couple months more. Second deadline arrives & still no table AND they say since we didn't pick up original 6 chairs & bed within 4 days of their arrival at warehouse, they gave them away. WHAT? No one EVER mentioned this possibility. Some folks in store claim it's their policy. Salesman (Seth, also called Jordan) says he's worked there for 3 years & never heard of that.

We ask for updates on a regular basis. Are constantly told they will check & call us within a day. NO ONE EVER calls. Not salesman, not admin folks, not lady who supposedly has power to take care of these things. Items are for rental property with bookings that start in a month. We planned well in advance to make sure everything would be in place. Now we're screwed & ASHLEY FURNITURE DOESN'T CARE! When we tell them we want our money back, they claim there's only one person at store who can authorize a refund, and, amazingly, she's not going to be back for 5 days. Riiiight... VERY SHADY FOLKS. DON'T EVER BUY FROM HERE.

Worst Customer Service Experience Ever

ALGONQUIN, ILLINOIS -- I have had the worst experience with Ashley Furniture and it was my first time trying to order from them. I will NEVER order from Ashley nor step foot in one of their stores again. I was trying to order a sofa/sleeper sectional to be shipped to my daughter in another state. The website for ordering is HORRIBLE! It wouldn't let me order it online but customer service nor the finance department could tell me why (as it wasn't my credit card). I tried this for 2 days. Talked with customer service and finance a couple times and was told I would hear from them. I never did! They wouldn't let me place an order on the phone (which is totally stupid).

I even went to my local store to try to order it to ship to my daughter and the sales lady was kind and told me that they could not do that either. I explained my situation and she stated that typically unless my credit card has been on file with Ashley (from prior purchase), the website would be a nightmare (which it was)! I am totally disgusted with Ashley, their website and their customer service! Again, I will NEVER order from them or set foot in one of their stores! This is one of the most horrific experiences I have ever had - all over ordering a large piece of furniture!

EVERY SINGLE CITY IN EVERY STATE!, GEORGIA -- Please be VERY-careful with these two companies. They are in it to make money PERIOD. They both operate on same level..NO other retailers that can compete they can price their junk at whatever knowing you already walked in and out of LaZBoy when you saw couch prices. They are BILLIONARES and seriously are laughing all the way to bank..Lawsuits?? Pfft they could care less. They can settle any time any day with NO apologies to NO ONE. Only smart thing Ashley did and I mean ONLY, is franchising. Guy that owns Rooms To Go, is washed up son of a large retailer up North..his Dad retired in Florida or somewhere in South and junior wannabe followed Daddy. I think Ashley and wanna boy hook up every week for coffee and see who is going to screw the consumer more that week. I bet they argue about it too. I would suggest saving your money for a well made couch (see Lexington or Hooker on how it is done) then say WHOLLY CRAP. But even a $2500 couch from a really good maker is worth it.....

ONLINE, ARIZONA -- I ordered a rug online. When it arrived, it just wasn't the correct size and didn't look right. I paid $65.00 for the rug. I was told I could return it but had to pay the shipping cost. That cost was $ 50.00!! I was told I could not take it back to the local Ashley store as it was a 3rd party manufacturer and Ashley didn't stock the item. But they're selling the item??? So, I'm stuck with a rug and the experience cost me $ 65.00. BEWARE. Read all the fine print on Ashley's policies!!! I won't be purchasing from them again!!

LAKELAND, FLORIDA -- I know these sales guys are on commission but are good at ticking me off. This happened the day before Presidents Day. I entered the store with a salesman at the door that greeted me. I said I'm fine but I'm just looking around. I was there for an hour and the entire time the guy (he calls himself Little Rick @ Lakeland, Florida) is no more than 20 feet away from me! Acted like he was doing something else but he was following me the entire time I was there. I actually was going to buy an expensive suite but I had enough. Another guy was at the front of the store waiting on customers. I told him it's really rude when you guys are stalking customers. All he said was we are just trying to help. Absolutely will NEVER go in there again! STAY AWAY!!

MARROW, GEORGIA -- The payment made on two accounts that was more than the minimum amount due but the payment was only made to one account. The customer service people lied and hung up the phone. Now I am going to be charged 29.99 percent for both purchases after the promotion ends in a few months. Don't deal with these people. When asked why the card was never sent and I was told that it was mailed but I never received it and the customer service representative stated that I only asked one time. Don't DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! IT IS A MAJOR BAIT AND SWITCH!!!
