Despite Bad Reviews
Posted by on
Rating: 5/51
Despite the bad reviews, prices were so much lower for K9 Advantage II that I decide to try it anyway, (I could always dispute the CC charge)

I ordered on March 1st. and received the products on March 11th. ( I was starting to worry since they had charged my CC at the time of purchase)

I had a unopened box of the same product left over from last year, I compared the box and interior packaging, The only difference was that the weight was listed in Kg instead of Lbs.

If it is a fake product it is a very good fake, I will continue this review as I use it on my three dogs.

Personally, I wouldn't use ANYTHING that might be fake on my pet. I'm happy to buy fresh authentic meds locally, and have the peace of mind that comes along with it. To each their own.

I broke my policy once, and ordered tick collars from 1800 pet meds. The collars were right near expiration and didn't work. Never again.

I have had great experiences with Budget Pet Care, not just with their products, but, with Mike who always takes my order. I will not buy my cats flea med anywhere else, and I am so lucky to
always get mike to take my order. He is a kind and competent young man. Kudos to Budget Pet Care, their fab prices and Mike!!!

Budget Pet Care Is A Rip Off
Posted by on
I have several animals and was surfing the web for good prices on Flea control products. I came across Budget Pet Care. They offer 7-14 delivery or money back. I was paying through PayPal thank goodness. They charged me twice, I got that back, but I have NEVER received my items. I purchased them on April 16. I have called them and emailed them. Most of the time, they don't answer, but when they do, they always tell me my item was shipped "yesterday". So, today, they told me it was shipped last Friday.

I told them I wanted a refund, they did say I could get a refund, put me on hold and I waited on line for over 5 minutes and he never came back to get my info. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

From their web site:

A: Most of our orders arrive within 7-14 business days. We provide money back guarantee if your order is not delivered within 21 business days.
Soaring Consumer on 05/26/2009:
Based on the other complaints this appears to be a scam. Note all of the other complaints of people that never got their product or a refund after 21 business days, just like this one.

Dispute the rest with Paypal.
BokiBean on 05/26/2009:
I just wish a few of these people would come back and say what happened... I'm unwilling to write off this company just because it is Canadian and the shipments will probably take longer and may even be held up at customs.

I think the same person is writting all these reviews. they all sound the same.

I have tried Budget Pet Care from Canada. The product arrived and they were geniune. Yes, it took 10 days to arrive and I was getting anxious, but when I reveiwed the site, It is clearly mentioned that the orders usually arrive between 7-10 days.

We in US are used to faster delivery, but across the border it may take a while due to custom delays. My suggestion give bit extra time, I.e. order in advance.
Kriskitty22 on 07/02/2010:
I am very glad that I made my purchase before stumbling upon this site. I purchased Advantix for my two dogs (6 months, plus 2 months free) on the site on June 18 and received my product approximately 5 days later. It came in perfect condition and was exactly as advertised.

I have not had to call the phone number, as I had no issues with my purchase and I completed my order online, but this definitely is NOT a scam site. Reading most of the above reviews, I was very worried that I had been scammed and would not receive my purchase. This was not the case at all. This company had the lowest price on Advantix I could find and it arrived very swiftly, no issues.

I should have researched the reviews on Budget Pet Care before I ordered. I ordered Frontline Plus and received Frontline Combo. If I wanted Frontline Combo I would have ordered it from another state side cheaper company. And when you try to return the bait and switch product, they want you to pay for the return shipping and they also said that they will refund the entire amount LESS $5.Not to mention that within 3 days of my online transaction my credit card was duplicated and $4976.23 in fraudulent charges were placed against my credit card. All the purchases were made in the Montreal Canada, in the vicinity of Budget Pet Care. NEVER AGAIN!!! THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN!!!!

I ordered from this company 3 times without problems. The last time was a mess. I waited about 5 weeks and many calls for the product and when it arrived it was Combo instead of Plus from England. The product did not work.

Kelli on 08/29/2013:
I have ordered from this company for the last couple of years. Their prices are hard to beat and I am a satisfied customer.

A few months ago, my order took several weeks to arrive and when it did, there was a note that it was opened and checked by US customs. This could be the problem with delays in receiving shipments.

I have always received quality products and have saved a bunch of money by ordering from this company. The trick is to reorder before you run out in case the shipping time is longer than expected.

Very upset with this company
Posted by on
I am a multiple pet owner who utilizes online purchasing a lot to save money. This was my first time dealing with www.budgetpetcare.com and I have done everything in my power to make sure that people know exactly what happened to me when I placed an order with them. This is just one other step I am taking. I purchased $339 worth of Revolution from them on a Thursday night and paid in full. Revolution is a prescription product so I was anticipating a step where you enter your veterinarian's name and number to get the OK from them. That part never happened so right after I placed the order, I called them on the phone to make sure my order would be handled in a timely manner.

The woman I spoke with told me she would personally call my veterinarian that day after I had given her all the information. The next morning, my order was still waiting to have the prescription verified and my vet said no one had ever called. I was upset because this was going to delay my meds arriving. After speaking with my vet, she gave me a large discount on what I needed so I decided to purchase from them instead. I called budgetpetcare.com back and cancelled my order with them.

This was less than 12 hours from when I had placed the order to begin with. The woman I spoke with (Stacy- who was very rude), said that she had cancelled my order and I would receive a full refund within 3-5 working days. This happened on a Friday. On Monday, I checked my order and it still said waiting for prescrition to be verified. I was concerned that my order had never been cancelled so I called them immediately. It was, in fact, true that my order had never been cancelled.

Stacy told me that she would cancel my order by the end of the business day and my refund would be 3-5 working days. I checked on Wednesday and my order said the same thing. I was very upset at this point. I called them again and asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told no one was available but a message would be left and someone would call me back. I did receive a message from Nicole that evening that she had personally taken my cancelled order to be refunded and that I would have my refund by the next day (which would have been Thursday). This did not happen either.

I called them back on Thursday and asked to speak with a supervisor and after speaking with a supervisor, was hung up on by her. After calling back multiple times, they hung up on me each time. I called from my cell phone so they didn't know it was me and was able to get through but they immediately hung up on me again. They delayed the processing of my refund and the 3-5 working days turned into 12 days!! I was so upset that they hung up on me multiple times for only inquiring about my refund and started to question their validness as a company. I do not know any company that tolerates their employees hanging up on customers but this one obviously does. Only after I threatened to call my lawyer and file a complaint with the BBB did they finally process my refund (which really takes 7-10 business days per Allied Wallet- which is the company that actually refunds the money). I researched them on the BBB website and they had 10 additional complaints in the last 3 years (all of which were left unresolved because budgetpetcare.com refused to respond) and the BBB gave them a rating of F. I wish I had researched them prior to placing an order but had never had a problem before purchasing online. Boy did I learn my lesson. I truly hope no one has to learn about them the way I did. That is why I am writing this review.

They probably hung up on you because they thought you were a nut. Thursday NIGHT, you buy something. You call and learn they will call the vet "that day" which means Friday. You call vet on Friday MORNING and panic because that delays the medicine you ordered at the last minute before your pets needed it. (You do know there is a morning and afternoon to each day?)

So you call them on Friday, and cancel your order. On Monday MORNING, you call and see not cancelled yet - So you call again. You continue to call, demand to speak to a supervisor and get upset with them. What do you think these mail order places do, sit around waiting to jump at your command. Patience is a virtue, perhaps you have heard of it. You got your refund back in the normal course of business.

I have bought a lot on-line both business and personal. These places have low prices for a reason, e.g. less overhead. The fact something is ordered today, does not mean shipped today. When it comes to prescriptions or new places, I place a small order first to see how their system works. Then I can better judge how long something takes to receive and their ability to fill an order accurately.
goduke on 10/06/2009:
I've generally found with the web that the folks who have the lowest price usually have found a way to cut their costs -- and generally that's through service. Their responses are slow and service is iffy. We hear that consistently about this outfit.

the exact same thing has happened to me. my heart totally sank when I read your post.

Don't Deal With Budget Pet Care in Canada

SCOTT TWP, PENNSYLVANIA -- Well over a month now and no items delivered. Hard to get a hold of them and then you get different answers from different people. Called and canceled over a week ago and was told I would get a refund. no refund as of yet ! Doubt I will see one. Contacted my credit card company and told them to get my money back already.

Seems like they lie a lot. Not a company to deal with. It is now may 20th and my order and payment went in on April 10th. They care nothing about their customers. Again, do not deal with this company or you will find your self in the same position. After dealing with them and having problems, I have heard many bad stories about them. they do not do what they say they will do. No credit ever came back from them ! I had to get my credit card company involved and still lost money as I paid through PayPal and had some funds in PayPal that were used before my credit card. I got back only what was charged to my credit card. These people will not answer back to me at all, nor will they return the rest of my monies. They are a sham operation ! Buyers beware ! they should be shut down!

I too had problems. It took well over a month to receive the product and it came from the UK, along with foreign product that isn't even legally allowed to be sold here! I contacted the manufacturer of the tic and flea medicine and they gave me some advice to only buy from a reputable veterinarian and they are the one who told me about it being illegal for them to ship in into our country. They had me send it to them.

Made a Mistake From Ordering Product
Posted by on
Rating: 1/51
I ordered capstar and Advantage 2 for two large dogs and a cat. The Advantage was shipped out immediately from a facility in MO, USA. I was emailed that the capstar was shipped out the day after the first package. When the second package did not arrive in the same time frame as the first I called customer service. I was told that the capstar was being shipped from the UK. The agent could not provide me with a tracking number because it is shipped overseas in bulk. I was unaware of this product was coming from overseas.

The gentleman then informed me that it states in the FAQs that products are obtained from other countries in order to provide better prices. I find this a deceptive tactic because there is no heading in the FAQs stating this practice. It does state it under the question titled: Are Your Products Genuine?

I definitely will not order from this website since their practices of doing business are not clearly stated. I made the mistake of not reading reviews of others experiences with this website.

Dealing with them for years - 5 Stars

PENNSYLVANIA -- Budget Pet Care is completely reputable. I, as well as the members (which includes veterinarians) of my kennel club, have been dealing with this company for years! Unfortunately, you have quite a few ignorant people out there who from lack of common sense and knowledge will attempt to malign a great business that has super prices and terrific customer service.

1. Ignorant people say "I ordered Frontline Plus and received Frontline Combo...it's a scam. The scam is from the drug companies that price both animal and human medications much cheaper everywhere but here in the U. S. Complain to the drug co, do not bad mouth a company. If you think I'm lying just go to Merial's (mfg of Frontline) website and read at the bottom "FRONTLINE Combo® contains fipronil and (S)-methoprene ®Registered Trademark. For further information, contact Merial Animal Health Ltd, CM19 5TG, UK. ©Merial Ltd 2012. All rights reserved" Those are the exact same ingredients as Frontline Plus!

2. Foreign service charge? That charge (usually 3%) is put on by your credit card company NOT Budget Pet Care!! Get a Capitol One card and there is NO extra charge!

3. Your vet says the drug is phony/counterfeit? What do you expect them to say at the prices they charge? Get rid of your lying vet and find someone honest!

4. It took too long to get your merchandise? It comes from England, Canada or Australia...with the money you are saving...have some patience...you charged it didn't you? Therefore, you have protection.

So, you can believe the morons, village idiots, whatever or do yourself a favor and get a good product at a great price!!!!!!!!!!

When people on the internet refer to others as "ignorant", "morons" and "village idiot", it speaks volumes but not in the way one might ass-ume.

I would never use an online pet vendor for meds for my dog. Call me an idiot or anything else that comes to mind - strangers calling me names doesn't bother me.

trmn8r I think you are their competitor, why else I find your comment on almost all good reviews posted for them. I don't care what you write I have received my order and glad that it arrived on time. Way to go BudgetPetCare! Thank you for such great prices and a very good customer service.
Christina on 07/10/2014:
When I tried to order online my card blocked me from ordering. So upset I called my card to see what was going on. I knew my balance and was only ordering 25$ in merchandise. They look up my order to see what happened. The protection on my card automatically declined the order because the company was not a trusted company, their information was not clear, and they could not get a correct address for them. First they were listed at London, then Canada, then Hong Kong. They are a shady company and thank goodness for the protection on my card, it saved me a lot of hassle.

Consumers Beware!

MANITOBA - CANADA -- I, too, thought that it was a wonderful price for Frontline Plus for my two Pomeranians. Fortunately my credit card company would not process the order, which didn't make any sense to me, so I phoned Budget Pet Care and I did receive a friendly customer service representative who suggested that perhaps it was because it was an international order and my credit card was not authorized to process such orders.

I then contacted my credit card company who informed me that Budget Pet Care has been placed on their High Risk listing for reasons she could not tell me. Of course, I could still go ahead with the order, but needless to say, cancelled it. I learned something new at my old age, that credit card companies keep a listing of firms/organizations complaints from their customers and in the future, when ordering from someone new, shall first check with my credit card company and Google reports.

BTW, my Poms were both rescued from puppy mills and are now AKC Certified Good Citizens and one a Certified Therapy Dog.

It's true that lists are kept, but they may not be what you think. There are list of companies where a large number of fraudulent transactions have originated. The card companies block sales where the card is not actually being presented.

It may be unfair to the company that they are targeted because their business attracts thieves. It is certainly not to be taken as any judgment on the business itself. You will often find that companies that sell electronics are placed in this category because their products are easy to sell after they are stolen.
trmn8r on 01/19/2013:
You can find out a lot by simply typing "Budget Pet Care complaints" into any search engine.

This site has numerous comments about this company.

The short version is, yes it is in Canada, so shipping (slow) and possibly billing is a concern. Then "Budget" pet care makes substitutions of Frontline Plus (with IDENTICAL product but a different brand name).

Personally, I wouldn't give my pet medicines from a discount pet supply web portal. I use my vet, who has fair prices and fresh authentic product. I believe some vets do gouge customers, which is unfortunate.
S_roger on 01/20/2013:
Credit Card issuers do have filters to reduce risks. A purchase even from a reputed large company sometimes may be declined as all this is done by computers behind the scene. I agree with the views of CUontheFlipSide above. A company should not be tarnished because of declined transaction.

Ripoff by Budget Pet Care

MANITOBA, CANADA -- On May 26, 2009 I found Budget Pet Care on the web, offering a large savings on Frontline Plus. I placed my order for a years supply for $94.58. This went to PayPal and the money was deducted from my account the next day. I rec'd email confirmation from Budget Pet Care, verifying my order, and telling me that it would be shipped. Well, I never received the order.
When I try to call the number just rings out. This is obviously a real scam. Avoid them. They won't answer the phone, and don't reply to email.

Always Happy With Their Service and Product

EUGENE, OREGON -- I have been ordering from Budget Pet Care both online and over the phone for more than 3 years and have always been happy with their service and the product I order. I get Advantage Plus. It is sometimes substituted with Advantage Combo, which is the UK version.

I personally have never had a problem with this as my cats have never had an adverse reaction or a flea during this time. The price is hugely different than what you find elsewhere. They often have discount specials and the shipping is always free. I will continue to order from them as long as I have pets. Very satisfied.

Best Pet Care Supplies Company ever I used

My two beagles and a kitty got flea infection. For the same, I ordered Advantage II and Capstar from Budget Pet Care. The product was shipped the same day from a facility in USA. I was emailed that both of my orders are shipped and shortly I will receive them. I was waiting for my delivery. Since, three days passed from the day I received their email, I didn’t got the delivery.

I called up customer service about this and was told that the product has been shipped, though he will check the status with the company’s logistics and will inform me. The next day, the gentleman called me up and was apologizing saying the address was mistaken for the other. He assured me that I would soon receive the package at the end of the day. I soon received the product and was happy to see that the company was very much into customer care.

Thanks to the gentleman for been honest and informing me about the true status of my delivery. I definitely will order from this website only, since they have excellent customer service and they are real honest people.
