Budget Pet Care Is A Rip Off
Posted by GildayB on 05/26/2009
I have several animals and was surfing the web for good prices on Flea control products. I came across Budget Pet Care. They offer 7-14 delivery or money back. I was paying through PayPal thank goodness. They charged me twice, I got that back, but I have NEVER received my items. I purchased them on April 16. I have called them and emailed them. Most of the time, they don't answer, but when they do, they always tell me my item was shipped "yesterday". So, today, they told me it was shipped last Friday.

I told them I wanted a refund, they did say I could get a refund, put me on hold and I waited on line for over 5 minutes and he never came back to get my info. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

From their web site:

A: Most of our orders arrive within 7-14 business days. We provide money back guarantee if your order is not delivered within 21 business days.
Posted by Soaring Consumer on 2009-05-26:
Based on the other complaints this appears to be a scam. Note all of the other complaints of people that never got their product or a refund after 21 business days, just like this one.

Dispute the rest with Paypal.

I just wish a few of these people would come back and say what happened... I'm unwilling to write off this company just because it is Canadian and the shipments will probably take longer and may even be held up at customs.

i think the same person is writting all these reviews. they all sound the same.

I have tried Budget Pet Care from Canada. The product arrived and they were geniune. Yes, it took 10 days to arrive and I was getting anxious, but when I reveiwed the site, It is clearly mentioned that the orders usually arrive between 7-10 days.

We in US are used to faster delivery, but across the border it may take a while due to custom delays. My suggestion give bit extra time, i.e. order in advance.

I am very glad that I made my purchase before stumbling upon this site. I purchased Advantix for my two dogs (6 months, plus 2 months free) on the site on June 18 and received my product approximately 5 days later. It came in perfect condition and was exactly as advertised.

I have not had to call the phone number, as I had no issues with my purchase and I completed my order online, but this definitely is NOT a scam site. Reading most of the above reviews, I was very worried that I had been scammed and would not receive my purchase. This was not the case at all. This company had the lowest price on Advantix I could find and it arrived very swiftly, no issues.

I should have researched the reviews on Budget Pet Care before I ordered. I ordered Frontline Plus and received Frontline Combo. If I wanted Frontline Combo I would have ordered it from another state side cheaper company. And when you try to return the bait and switch product, they want you to pay for the return shipping and they also said that they will refund the entire amount LESS $5.Not to mention that within 3 days of my online transaction my credit card was duplicated and $4976.23 in fraudulent charges were placed against my credit card. All the purchases were made in the Montreal Canada, in the vicinity of Budget Pet Care. NEVER AGAIN!!! THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN!!!!

I have use this company many times and have NEVER had a bad experience. I highly recommend them.

I ordered from this company 3 times without problems. The last time was a mess. I waited about 5 weeks and many calls for the product and when it arrived it was Combo instead of Plus from England. The product did not work.

I bought Frontline for my 5 cats, the product did not work. Two weeks later they all still have fleas, I will never buy from this company again.

I ordered advantage 2 and it came in 6 days My dogs are content and calm I have had no problem with them and this is my second time to order This site is not a scam, and the price is good

I have ordered from this company for the last couple of years. Their prices are hard to beat and I am a satisfied customer.

A few months ago, my order took several weeks to arrive and when it did, there was a note that it was opened and checked by US customs. This could be the problem with delays in receiving shipments.

I have always received quality products and have saved a bunch of money by ordering from this company. The trick is to reorder before you run out in case the shipping time is longer than expected.

I have had great luck with budget pet care. no problems at all. have been using them and will continue to do so. i really love their site.

I have made several purchases from this company in the last 2 years. Everything has been received in a short time and is just as ordered. I have found that their prices are better than anywhere else and I will continue ordering from them.

I just ordered some flea meds last Thursday from Budget Pet Care. This weekend the bank called and my card was getting many FRAUDULENT CHARGES against it. This was the only place I used this card in quite sometime. Looked at previous post and it also happened to Steve in a comment above mine. These guys will rob your credit card!

Don't Deal With Budget Pet Care in Canada
Posted by Ramrod98 on 05/20/2009
SCOTT TWP, PENNSYLVANIA -- Well over a month now and no items delivered. Hard to get a hold of them and then you get different answers from different people. Called and canceled over a week ago and was told I would get a refund. no refund as of yet ! Doubt I will see one. Contacted my credit card company and told them to get my money back already.

Seems like they lie a lot. Not a company to deal with. It is now may 20th and my order and payment went in on April 10th. They care nothing about their customers. Again, do not deal with this company or you will find your self in the same position. After dealing with them and having problems, I have heard many bad stories about them. they do not do what they say they will do. No credit ever came back from them ! I had to get my credit card company involved and still lost money as I paid through PayPal and had some funds in PayPal that were used before my credit card. I got back only what was charged to my credit card. These people will not answer back to me at all, nor will they return the rest of my monies. They are a sham operation ! Buyers beware ! they should be shut down!

Ripoff by Budget Pet Care
Posted by Dahlai on 06/18/2009
MANITOBA, CANADA -- On May 26, 2009 I found Budget Pet Care on the web, offering a large savings on Frontline Plus. I placed my order for a years supply for $94.58. This went to PayPal and the money was deducted from my account the next day. I rec'd email confirmation from Budget Pet Care, verifying my order, and telling me that it would be shipped. Well, I never received the order.
When I try to call the number just rings out. This is obviously a real scam. Avoid them. They won't answer the phone, and don't reply to email.

BudgetPetCare.com Rips you Off
Posted by MyPetsRule on 05/12/2009
I placed an order on April 17, 2009 for some pet supplies with BudgetPetCare.com, as of today I still haven't received my order. I've contacted customer service and was told I had to wait 21 business days before I could request a refund or request another shipment be sent to me. Not 21 days, but 21 business days!

Stay aware from this company, I first started calling their customer service the phone rang indefinitely - no one picked up. When I finally did get someone to answer it seemed as if it was someone that had no clue what I was telling them. The person told me they would send another shipment of what I had ordered, as it appeared it was lost. A few hours later I get an e-mail telling me a manager would have to review the matter. Bottom line, I'm now being told I have to wait a full 21 business days before they'll consider resending the order.

Don't be fooled by the low prices, stay away from this company.

this is a duplicate. even though slightly different, it is the same format as the other reviews about this company, and follows the same posting method.

always seems to be 2 reviews when this is posted.

What the heck are you trying to say? Duplicate? Spit it out, what are you saying?
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-06-17:
21 days is not unreasonable when you are dealing with the USPS. You can't even inquire about missing mail for 21 days, and the PO won't initiate a lost mail complaint for 30 days. IF you need something that fast I always say NEVER BUY ONLINE/MAILORDER. IF you can afford to wait, then buy online.
Posted by MyPetsRule on 2009-06-17:
LadyScot,

While you are certainly entitled to your opinion and you are not wrong about time lines for filing for a missing parcel with USPS, 21 days is absolutely unacceptable under any standards for a mail order company to deliver a product.

By the way, I never did receive what I ordered and had to dispute the purchase with my credit company - the store refused to acknowledge me, even well after 21 days had gone by. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company.
Posted by DigitalCommando on 2009-06-17:
You can get a package shipped UPS ground from one side of the country to the other in 7 business days. 21 days sounds like they are floating other people's cash till they get called out on it by the CC company.
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-06-17:
perhaps you can contact the FTC
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-06-17:
I remember when mail order used to take 6-8 weeks. Just like on Ebay, people are spoiled and expect it yesterday. I received an item in the mail from my ink company: USPS...it took 10 days to get to me PRIORITY mail...post office says 2-3 days, but I live in the real world where I know things happen along the mail route.

If you do not get your item you pay for, of course complain and file a chargeback if necessary. I do not however, find it unreasonable for a company to ask you to wait at least 21 days to make sure you do not get the item before they refund or ship a new order. YOU might like the chance of getting one free, but a company can't stay in business long if every customer gets a free item.

Oh, and Digital, not every company online uses UPS. ALOT do still use the post office.

Beware of Budget Pet Care!
Posted by Brittany10075 on 05/07/2009
I placed an order on Budgetpetcare.com on April 14th. Today is the 7th of May and I have not received my order yet. I've called the numbers provided a billion times. One sounds like a fax line and the other begins beeping immediately after pressing the last digit.

I have also wrote e-mails and have not been able to get any response.

Usually mail order companies ship orders via USPS or Canada Post and its ent by normal post. Out of many carried by postal services few are lost and unfortunately you could be the unlucky one. Also packages with meds are stopped by customs, sometime they let it go and sometime they hold it.

It these mail order companies who pay us back or we can charge back even though. So its their loss and customer does get their money or the product. Canadian companies are OK to do business.

I have tried many Canadian mail order companies and I find them OK.

Despite Bad Reviews
Posted by Wayne_fenwick2002 on 03/12/2013
My Girl
My Girl
Despite the bad reviews, prices were so much lower for K9 Advantage II that I decide to try it anyway, (I could always dispute the CC charge)

I ordered on March 1st. and received the products on March 11th. ( I was starting to worry since they had charged my CC at the time of purchase)

I had a unopened box of the same product left over from last year, I compared the box and interior packaging, The only difference was that the weight was listed in Kg instead of Lbs.

If it is a fake product it is a very good fake, I will continue this review as I use it on my three dogs.

Personally, I wouldn't use ANYTHING that might be fake on my pet. I'm happy to buy fresh authentic meds locally, and have the peace of mind that comes along with it. To each their own.

I broke my policy once, and ordered tick collars from 1800 pet meds. The collars were right near expiration and didn't work. Never again.

I have had great experiences with Budget Pet Care, not just with their products, but, with Mike who always takes my order. I will not buy my cats flea med any where else, and I am so lucky to
always get mike to take my order. He is a kind and competent young man. Kudos to Budget Pet Care, their fab prices and Mike!!!

Consumers Beware!
Posted by Wine.or.Roses on 01/19/2013
MANITOBA - CANADA -- I, too, thought that it was a wonderful price for Frontline Plus for my two Pomeranians. Fortunately my credit card company would not process the order, which didn't make any sense to me, so I phoned Budget Pet Care and I did receive a friendly customer service representative who suggested that perhaps it was because it was an international order and my credit card was not authorized to process such orders.

I then contacted my credit card company who informed me that Budget Pet Care has been placed on their High Risk listing for reasons she could not tell me. Of course, I could still go ahead with the order, but needless to say, cancelled it. I learned something new at my old age, that credit card companies keep a listing of firms/organizations complaints from their customers and in the future, when ordering from someone new, shall first check with my credit card company and Google reports.

BTW, my Poms were both rescued from puppy mills and are now AKC Certified Good Citizens and one a Certified Therapy Dog.

It's true that lists are kept, but they may not be what you think. There are list of companies where a large number of fraudulent transactions have originated. The card companies block sales where the card is not actually being presented.

It may be unfair to the company that they are targeted because their business attracts thieves. It is certainly not to be taken as any judgement on the business itself. You will often find that companies that sell electronics are placed in this category because their products are easy to sell after they are stolen.
Posted by trmn8r on 2013-01-19:
You can find out a lot by simply typing "Budget Pet Care complaints" into any search engine.

This site has numerous comments about this company.

The short version is, yes it is in Canada, so shipping (slow) and possibly billing is a concern. Then "Budget" pet care makes substitutions of Frontline Plus (with IDENTICAL product but a different brand name).

Personally, I wouldn't give my pet medicines from a discount pet supply web portal. I use my vet, who has fair prices and fresh authentic product. I believe some vets do gouge customers, which is unfortunate.
Posted by S_roger on 2013-01-20:
Credit Card issuers do have filters to reduce risks. A purchase even from a reputed large company sometimes may be declined as all this is done by computers behind the scene. I agree with the views of CUontheFlipSide above. A company should not be tarnished because of declined transaction.

Yes, this one downside of ordering pet supplies online, and especially this company which is located in Canada.

I buy my pet supplies from my vet. I don't have any suspicion of their freshness or source, though I admit that some flea meds have no expiration date. It just gives me peace of mind.

Dealing with them for years - 5 Stars
Posted by Charles359 on 05/24/2013
PENNSYLVANIA -- Budget Pet Care is completely reputable. I, as well as the members (which includes veterinarians) of my kennel club, have been dealing with this company for years! Unfortunately, you have quite a few ignorant people out there who from lack of common sense and knowledge will attempt to malign a great business that has super prices and terrific customer service.

1. Ignorant people say "I ordered Frontline Plus and received Frontline Combo...it's a scam. The scam is from the drug companies that price both animal and human medications much cheaper everywhere but here in the U. S. Complain to the drug co, do not bad mouth a company. If you think I'm lying just go to Merial's (mfg of Frontline) website and read at the bottom "FRONTLINE Combo® contains fipronil and (S)-methoprene ®Registered Trademark. For further information, contact Merial Animal Health Ltd, CM19 5TG, UK. ©Merial Ltd 2012. All rights reserved" Those are the exact same ingredients as Frontline Plus!

2. Foreign service charge? That charge (usually 3%) is put on by your credit card company NOT Budget Pet Care!! Get a Capitol One card and there is NO extra charge!

3. Your vet says the drug is phony/counterfeit? What do you expect them to say at the prices they charge? Get rid of your lying vet and find someone honest!

4. It took too long to get your merchandise? It comes from England, Canada or Australia...with the money you are saving...have some patience...you charged it didn't you? Therefore, you have protection.

So, you can believe the morons, village idiots, whatever or do yourself a favor and get a good product at a great price!!!!!!!!!!

When people on the internet refer to others as "ignorant", "morons" and "village idiot", it speaks volumes but not in the way one might ass-ume.

I would never use an online pet vendor for meds for my dog. Call me an idiot or anything else that comes to mind - strangers calling me names doesn't bother me.

Beware
Posted by StcloudNana on 07/15/2009
I ordered Advocate and Advantage on June 25th and paid for it immediately with Paypal. I finally received it today July 15th after many phone calls, unanswered emails, and unanswered messages. The medication had been shipped from Barbados - not Canada. The outer packaging of both the Advocate and Advantage had been opened, additional doses of Advantage had been added to the box. It was clearly labeled 4 dose pack, but had 2 doses (I ordered six) added. Thankfully the secondary tamper-proof package was intact, although I still feel somewhat uneasy. Their customer service is terrible. When they answer they promise to follow up and call back but I never got a return call. I won't be using them again!

I ordered from BudgetPetCare and finally received the product. It took longer than I expected, but I did receive what I ordered. The product is from South Africa, but that is okay with me. Quite frankly I think the small company is overwhelmed with orders. Oh, well. However, I am not sure that I will order from them again, time will tell.

their site was crashed for a while

perhaps they were having trouble paying their bills
