Careless, the Worst Healthcare Plan You Could Ever Choose!!!!!

TUCSON, ARIZONA -- After being talked into this plan, I was unable to find a doctor. Every doctor they signed me up for was no longer taking patients. For months I tried to get an appointment but my primary care physicians would not see me. They wouldn't even put me on a list to someday see them. Half way through the year and endless complaints I was just informed there are no available doctors. I should use their urgent care. Which is a fee and urgent care does not deal with chronic conditions.

If you wish to die, choose this plan. Expect to waste your time with incompetent people, red tape and frustration. Hopefully you are a healthy person and can wait till next year because this year we don't have doctors. Do not recommend this plan to anyone. It is the worst.

Insurance Coverage

TUCSON, ARIZONA -- I changed my insurance to CareMore at the beginning of this year & it's one of the worst things I've ever done to myself. I did so as I always accompany my husband, who's a long-term diabetic, to their offices and have noted how caring the people are. But the company itself is terrible. I have a condition that causes terrible, unbearable pain in my face to the point that I can't eat, talk or even wash my face without enduring pain beyond description.

Since they won't allow me to see a specialist without a referral, many weeks ago I asked my doctor for one. Today I called there for the 7th time and the insurance still hadn't ok'd it. I called the insurance company and was on the phone for over an hour and they finally ok'd it. Now I'll have to wait another month before there's an opening for me to see someone. In the meantime I'm going through terrible pain every waking hour that is caused by this company not doing their job.

Also - today I went to Urgent Care as I have a terrible cold & cough. I was told I have Bronchitis & the doctor called in two prescriptions for me. It turns out the insurance won't cover them, so now I have an illness and cannot do anything to get over it as there's no way I can afford the meds. So, CareMore has TOTALLY messed me up in two ways. I am now in terrible pain and am sick and will probably remain so because of them.

Worst EVERYTHING - DO NOT GO With This Agency or Doctors Within It

RICHMOND, VA -- I am a caretaker for an elderly man, who has been complaining of worsening leg pain, and I myself told his Nurse Practitioner AKA doctor on this ** up plan. Due to primary care doctor (whom you only see when he decides to show {supposedly 4 times a year}) they decided my PATIENT was a DRUG SEEKER and ALCOHOLIC. Well I have been caring for him for 5 years, yes he may be an alcoholic but NEVER EVER a drug SEEKER. Not to mention, I can and could tell his LEG pain was worsening.

BTW his legs are swollen 6 times normal size, I can tell it's worse since he can no longer put ANY weight on them, 5 months ago he could walk with a cane, now he can't with anything and cannot even move from bed to wheelchair. Nurse was out 5 days ago. Ordered x-ray on back, nothing else, not even VITAL SIGNS.

Patient is now in the hospitalized as of 10/27/16 at St. Mary's Hospital with "BLOOD CLOTS" in his legs and pneumonia in his lungs. Does it sound like he was seeking drugs or in true crisis. I desperately need help, now no one at CAREMORE will contact me, His primary Care Doctor "Phillip **", Richmond Virginia, is also a MEMBER of AA (Alcoholics Anonymous). I believe his instincts are a BIT ** OFF. I know this as I met him at an AA meeting as Phil.

Now my very, VERY GOOD FRIEND, Robert **, may be dying due to negligence in the hospital due to overlooked OBVIOUS conclusions. ALL prior reviews are probably true, as half of them have happened to us. I hope and PRAY that GOD, Karma, and any state agency fixes this.

Most Ridiculous Experience of My Life

GREEN VALLEY, ARIZONA -- I had an appointment at 11:15 Monday this week. I left work so I could get there by 11. The appointment was with the podiatrist as I am diabetic and needed to get new orthotics. I registered at the front desk and took a seat. At 11:45 a person asked me how long I had been there. I told her 45mins. She conferred with another person who can back to me and said they had not registered me and that I would need to make another appointment. I just left and told them to forget it. I had this problem with CareMore years ago when I joined and left them because of it. I only went back because BCBS said they weren't going to affiliate with my hospital. What a mistake I made.

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA -- I have not had issues with the services provided at the CareMore center. When I call the member services department they are always pleasant. Every time I've called them they are very knowledgeable and helpful. With CareMore it does take a little bit more work on the patient's side. I have not had any issues getting things approved that I need.

Yes they are new to the Richmond VA area. So it is going to take time to get established and iron out the wrinkles. So far I've not heard about a single issues with CareMore from my doctors. For those whose are complaining I believe they don't like the changes because in they feel as though CareMore may be taking money out of their pocket.

CareMore's philosophy is all about having healthier patients. Yes it does save CareMore money, but at the same time it is saving patients' money. I am inclined to believe that patients (people in general) do not like change. Patients are used to having everything done for them.

CareMore is different and they place more of the responsibility of the patients' health back on the patients to be more proactive in taking care of themselves. In many cases patients are responsible for things that are going wrong with their body. But not in all cases.

Great Experience With CareMore

LA MIRADA, CALIFORNIA -- From my experience with CareMore has been nothing but great. I have never had any problems whatsoever with this company. I certainly do not understand why people gave this company so many bad reviews. I have been in the hospital twice now and the care I got was terrific and the CareMore doctor came to see me every day and did everything he could to make my stay good. Once out of the hospital, I also was able to see the CareMore staff whenever I wanted. I just love this supplemental insurance.

TUCSON, ARIZONA -- A employee gave a inaccurate opinion of me to a caseworker at a hospital... I recently quit them... horrible treatment. CareMore could not care less.

Amerivantage Caremore Insurance Customer Service - Could Not Be Worse
StarEmpty StarEmpty StarEmpty StarEmpty StarBy -
Rating: 1/51

CERRITOS, CALIFORNIA -- Customer service reps are clueless, there is no help whatsoever. The insurance has too many conditions and limitation, there are too many unnecessary steps, there is no transparency, no access to any kind of information. Since the insurance changed its name from plain CareMore to Amerivantage - it has got even worse, it is even more limitations and less help. This insurance is not designed to make your life easier. Everything is restricted, and you have absolutely no control of where or how you get necessary care. No choices, it has to be their way or no way.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- While the people are all very nice, polite and pleasant they know not what they're doing. I was prescribed a new medicine by a nurse practitioner who could not tell me what the contraindications were. She did not know what the word meant! Obviously English was not her first language but contraindicaciones is essentially the same word in Spanish. She and everyone at CareMore were just mindlessly populating fields on their computers.
