Stuck And Clicking CD Player
By -

Be sure that you love the CD that you are about to put into your 2004 Trailblazer CD player, because you will be doomed to listen to that one CD for the rest of your Chevy owning life. At 20k miles, my CD player took a major crap. It's out of warranty, so GM tells me that the CD player isn't important enough for them to fix, and they want ME to pay them to yank it, and for them to send it out to have it fixed on my dime. I have a service record the size of Cleveland on this pile. GM should be ASHAMED, period.

Second Hand Part Installation
By -

I am writing this complaint for my friend since he cannot write English. We live in Turkey, Adana and my friend owns a 2008 Chevrolet Jeep. A few months ago he has taken his Jeep to the Chevrolet service in Adana and he was informed that the Jeep needs a new part. And when he returned to check on the Jeep, he caught them putting a second hand steering wheel box in his car. They had big argument and he insisted on a new part.

He found out that Izmir is the center and they ordered the new part for him, it has been over 2 months and the part has not been put. We know that Chevrolet is very careful about its brand and it values the customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, Adana service tried to put second hand part from local area and trick my friend as if it was new. Please know what is going on at Adana location. We wanted to let you know.

New Traverse Purchase = Very Nice!!!
By -

TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- I recently decided to purchase a new SUV. I've driven trucks all my life, but wanted a change this go around. After seeing the new Chevy Traverse, I fell in love. I visited a local dealer, South Pointe Chevy, and they tried to meet a budget I already had in place for a new vehicle purchase. At first they could not meet my needs for pricing. I was a little sad, but I did not blame the problem on the dealer, but decided to contact GM on what happened. I actually got a call directly from GM, I didn't get any promises, but was told they would "look into it." The next day my dealer called me back with the price I needed to make the new purchase work.

Fantastic service! And an extremely fun vehicle. I recommend South Pointe to anyone considering any new vehicle. I'm still being amazed at what this SUV can do. And, the ride is nothing short of amazing. I traded in a Chevy truck that I drove for 10 years with no problems at all. The GM of 20 years ago is gone. Today I'm 100% convinced they beat any foreign maker hands down in every single way, including the sales process.

Problems With 2005 Equinox
By -

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- I have never written a complaint like this before but I am so upset with Chevy. I bought this vehicle brand new in Feb 2005 and for the most part I love it. But, thank goodness I bought an extended warranty at the time of purchase. I am now six months post original warranty and, as of today, there is 19,000 miles on the auto. The sun visor on the passenger side fell off after one year which seemed strange but it was replaced.

Last week, while driving the auto with the A/C on, it started blowing hot air. I took it back to the dealer and was told the A/C compressor is leaking and the entire system has to be replaced. 19,000 miles and six months after the original warranty, does that seem strange? This SUV is still practically new! Wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Faulty fuel gauge
By -

IOWA -- After the experience I had tonight I will NEVER buy another GM product so long as I live. I have a '99 Lumina with which up to this point I have been pretty well pleased. No major problems other than a water pump going out a couple of years ago and the fuel gauge quit working about a year or so ago. Which is usually no big deal, you just keep up with the fuel mileage to know when to fill up.

But tonight my wife ran out of gas before the mileage was up which on a normal night would have been a hassle. But tonight it is 10 degrees with a 40 mph wind which makes it about -15 degrees! She had to walk a mile to the house!!! There is no excuse for that **! Make a damn product that works all of the time every time!!! I shouldn't have to keep up with the mileage to know how much fuel is in the car. Next time I'll buy a Ford!!!

Brake Problems
By -

DAMARISCOTTA, MAINE -- My 2005 colorado was a piece of junk!!! It had major problems with the brakes, and GM refused to fix them. They told me that because of my "driving habits", they would not be responsible for any failures or problems with the brakes. Less than 1000 miles were on the truck when I experienced squeaking and grinding noises. I took it to the dealership to find out what the problem was. They said that all vehicles do this when they are new. I have had several new vehicles and this is the first one to ever have this problem. They said the problem was the brake pads and they would not replace the pads because they were not under warranty. No kidding!

I asked that they check the calipers and/or the rotors. I had continued to drive the truck with the problems every day. It only became worse. I talked to 3 mechanics (not with GM), and they said there was a problem that GM should fix. The dealership refused to fix it and GM customer service said there was nothing wrong with the truck. I was stuck with a lemon!!! Just a suggestion to everyone, do not buy any GM vehicle and think that you are going to get any kind of service!!!

Rusted Out Wheel Wells and Brake Systems
By -

KIRKLAND, WASHINGTON -- I drove a brand new 2006 Uplander off the lot last week only to notice that it makes a noise when you turn. Upon inspecting the wheels, the rotors are rusted out as well as the wheel well area. I have called two dealerships and both have tried to tell me that rusted out parts on a new vehicle are normal. Finally the fleet salesman suggested that I bring the vehicle back to the dealership to be inspected and it is a brand new car.

I picked it up with only 6 miles on the car. No one wants to take responsibility. I have never seen rust like this on a brand new vehicle. I think that Chevy uses faulty materials and then expects consumers to just drive the car and not worry that it is all rusted out.

Chevy Blazer
By -

MICHIGAN -- I've had problem after problem with my 2003 Chevy Blazer, and am being told that since it's a lease, that GM considers it their car, so they'll just keep repairing it. No matter what inconvenience THEIR car causes to me, the one paying the bills. I am so sick of seeing that service shop that I wish I had bought a Ford instead of my Chevy. As it's a two-door car and I have a medical necessity that requires me to have a four-door, I have been trying to talk to someone who can help me out. No one at GM Customer Service is willing to talk to me, and the dealership will only make calls on my behalf. They won't give me a number/name to call.

With the two issues I am having, if anyone knows of a way to help me out, please contact me by email at **. I desperately need out of this lease vehicle that is falling apart around me, and my back can't take a two door car with a baby car seat in the back! Thanks!
